It's the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year ☀️ A powerful turning point when we honor the Sun, our life force, and the peak of light and abundance in the year. This is a moment to pause and reflect on how far we've come since winter, while also opening into what we want to create next. We're also in a 1 Universal Year, which supports fresh starts, new directions, and planting seeds for the next chapter.

The Metaphysical Hour with Julia Cannon and Tracie Mahan and Question Master Tiffanny Shining the Grid, Moving Timelines, and Remembering You Are the Gift Lighting Up the Grid Together In this episode of The Metaphysical Hour, hosts Julia Cannon, Tracie Mahan, and Tiffany welcome viewers into a lively, intuitive, and highly interactive broadcast. Tiffany shares that after seeing the film, she slept heavily the next day, which the hosts interpret as a possible sign of processing the energies or activations embedded in the movie. The Dream of the Christmas Party and Receiving Your Gifts A listener describes a dream about being angry at a Christmas party because she was not kept in the loop and had nothing to give in the gift exchange. Julia and Tracie interpret the dream from several angles. At first, it appears to involve control, missing out, or feeling unprepared. Then the interpretation deepens: the dream may be about spiritual gifts. Everyone else has gifts to exchange, while the dreamer feels she has none, even though someone is trying to hand her an envelope. The hosts encourage her to stop resisting and recognize that she herself is the gift. Deja Vu, Timelines, and Soul Rehearsals Another listener asks about having more déjà vu than usual. Julia explains that déjà vu may happen because the soul rehearses upcoming events in the dream state, testing different timelines and choosing the one that best supports the desired outcome. Tracie adds that déjà vu can mean the person is “in the groove” and moving into a timeline they have already prepared for. Rather than treating déjà vu as random, the hosts frame it as evidence of soul planning, timeline movement, and readiness. Free Will, Agreements, and the Power of Words A listener asks whether free will can change soul contracts and why people would be “slaves” to contracts. Julia immediately reframes the language, saying she prefers agreements rather than contracts, because “slave” and “contract” carry heavy energy. She explains that souls make agreements before incarnating to help each other accomplish certain lessons or experiences, but free will still operates through how a person reacts, thinks, speaks, and chooses. Summer arrives here in the United States in the wee hours of tomorrow morning – the moment of the June solstice. At the solstice, the Sun stands farthest north for the entire year. For people at about 23-and-a-half degrees north latitude, our star will pass directly overhead at local noon. That line of latitude is known as the Tropic of Cancer. It was named a couple of thousand years ago. At the time, the Sun appeared against the constellation Cancer at the solstice. Today, though, the Sun’s almost directly astride the border between Taurus and Gemini. It’s on the Taurus side at the exact moment of the solstice, but it slides into Gemini a few hours later. The change in address is the result of a slow “wobble” in Earth’s axis. As it wobbles, the Sun shifts position against the background of stars. It takes our planet about 26,000 years to complete a single wobble, so that’s how long it takes the Sun to move all the way across the zodiac. So the Sun will return to Cancer in about 24,000 years. Earth’s axis also nods up and down a little over an even longer period – about 41 thousand years. That causes a shift in the latitude of the Tropic of Cancer. Right now, it’s moving southward at about 50 feet per year – changing the circle where the Sun stands overhead on the summer solstice. We’ll have more about the summer solstice tomorrow. We are finally at peak daylight and the Summer Solstice–which officially takes place June 21st this year. Summer speaks of garden parties and holidays at the beach, or lake, by rivers, or in the mountains. Summer speaks directly to our connection to the wild places we love and perhaps long for– and which, through our gardens, can be right here at home. Today I am joined by Carla from our coven to talk about death, grief, poisonous plants, her craft and a whole lot more in this episode! This is part one as the interview was so long my software couldn't cope with the duration so I have released as a two parter. Carla Valentine is a qualified Senior Mortuary Technician, and is currently the human remains conservator at Barts Pathology Museum in London. Her career caring for the dead has spanned over 20 years. She is a writer and broadcaster, featuring on TV shows such as The Bone Detectives, Fatberg Autopsy and Ancient Unexplained Files, and has a podcast called Mortem on BBC Sounds. Her first book, Past Mortems, documents her career carrying out autopsies for a decade, and the follow up, The Language of Bones - out October 1st 2026 - is a deeper exploration of death practices and the human condition. She also penned Murder Isn't Easy: The Forensics of Agatha Christie, and her next book, Planted Evidence - all about gardens, graves and poisonous plants - will be published in 2028. Carla's career informs her craft and she incorporates death meditation (mortality salience) into her practice as well as the use of body fluids and bones. She runs a small goth gardening business called Morticulture and is obsessed with the dark side of horticulture and its history.
