På søndag fortsatte vi serien om Apostlenes gjerninger. Den fremste visjonen for «hva» kirke er ment å være, vil vi alltid finne i Skriften. Som Thomas Barratt sa: «Fram til urkristendommen» - måtte våre liv og vår kirke ligne på det vi leser i Apostlenes gjerninger!  I det 8. kapittel i Apg. oppstår det en stor forfølgelse mot kirken. Dette leder til at kirken blir spredt utover, og alle forkynner – ikke bare apostlene. Forfølgelse har alltid ledet til «seier» for kirken. På samme tid er prisen høy, og mye «sorg» følger kirkens vitnesbyrd, både i Apg. og opp gjennom historien. Derfor formaner Skriften oss til alltid å «huske på» de som lider for troen. Men det store kristne håpet er at Gud er «suveren», og han vil alltid ha det siste ordet. It's something I've never heard before. What can I say, Felix keeps us all young. I went back to Brazil with some up-and-coming artists whose albums I've been excitedly awaiting. And, of course, Felix had to balance things out with one of his favorite jazz vocalists. I denne utgaven av Seriefrelst tar vi for oss de fire første episodene av den nye Disney+-serien The Shards (FX/Hulu), basert på Bret Easton Ellis sin roman. Bret Easton Ellis er en av sin generasjons mest betydningsfulle amerikanske forfattere, for de fleste mest kjent for American Psycho fra 1991 (som ble filmatisert av Mary Harron i 2000). Under pandemien benyttet Ellis sin podkast til å presentere en ny roman som føljetong, gjennom et helt år. Dette var første versjon av fiksjonsfortellingen The Shards som i 2023 ble utgitt i bokform, og som er hans første roman siden Imperial Bedrooms (2010). The Shards er en kombinasjon av selvbiografi fra Ellis' ungdomsår på high school i Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, og grotesk seriemorder-thriller, der grensene mellom sannhet og fantasi alltid er slørete. Materialet egner seg åpenbart også for film eller TV, men prosessen med adaptasjonen har vært lang og frustrerende: Til å begynne med var det kontraktfestet at HBO skulle produsere serien, først med Luca Guadagnino som konseptuerende regissør; deretter var det norske Kristoffer Borgli som utviklet serien, i tett samarbeid med Ellis. Alt dette gikk i vasken idet HBO besluttet seg for å kansellere prosjektet. Vi har ventet i spenning på resultatet – håpefulle, men skeptiske. Har Murphy lykkes med å gi nytt liv til Ellis sin fortelling og samtidig bevart forfatterens umiskjennelige sjargong? El Señor Jesús ofreció Su paz precisamente en contextos de mayor turbulencia, una paz que no depende de que el viento exterior se detenga, sino de permanecer cerca del centro donde Él habita. Al cerrar este mes, permite que Dios sea tu centro estable, sin importar cuántas bandas de tormenta sigan girando alrededor de tu vida en este momento. Firmes en la tormenta, porque Dios es el centro que no se mueve. La Biblia dice en Salmos 91:1-2: "El que habita al abrigo del Altísimo morará bajo la sombra del Omnipotente. Diré yo a Jehová: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío; mi Dios, en quien confiaré". (RV1960).

El temor de Dios no es miedo a Dios. Es la actitud de respeto pleno, y de obediencia y entrega a su voluntad revelada en su Palabra. Si lo hacemos, el resultado será sabiduría, de la perfecta, para todas las áreas de nuestra vida. Es por ello que "cómo vivir" no puede ser a "mi manera"; sus resultados serían amargura, tristeza, afectaciones a la familia, etc. El manual del fabricante, la Biblia, nos guía en todo lo que necesitamos saber para asegurar un buen presente y un maravilloso futuro, terrenal y eterno.
