#20 Sex in Oberlethe: Die „Frauen Sex Retreats” von Lenia Soley

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 19, 2025 31:29

Seid gespannt! When is it time, and how do you know, to step back from your busy, often hectic, law practice and move on to a new chapter. And how do you prepare? Guests Charla Stevens and David Soley have both been highly successful attorneys in New England. Stevens moved on from her work at a law firm to establish a consulting firm, Charla Stevens Consulting. Soley continues to work at the firm Berstein Shur and is the author of the American Bar Association book “Transitioning to Happiness: Type A Lawyers and Retirement.” Soley says lawyers should start preparing now. Being a trial lawyer is a passion, but it's important to regularly take stock and reflect on your situation. How do you feel? Are you still excited? What would you do if you were no longer a lawyer? It's important to stay in touch with yourself and create a plan for your second act so that you'll have an “escape hatch” when you realize it's time to go. Don't wait for the last minute. Stevens' former firm even encouraged litigators to think ahead and understand how many hours they want to work. Hear how she learned to recognize the factors that nudged her to step away and engage in something new. The loss of empathy, stress even outside the workplace, headaches, and even lack of sleep can all be warning signs. We know good litigators are “Type A,” people. And our guests agree a rocking chair isn't the answer for many of us. Hear how you can identify your other passions, outside the law, and pursue them. Make a list, make a plan, get excited. Consulting, writing, travel, sports, volunteering, teaching? They can offer a fulfilling way to engage and excel. There is life outside the courtroom. The food industry has long recognized the consumer demand for clean, healthy snack options. However, many store-bought snacks, while appearing healthy on the surface, contain hidden sugars, additives, and preservatives. Solely recognizes these needs and is up to the challenge. They lead the clean snacking movement by offering simple, transparent, and delicious snacks made with whole, organic fruits. Their commitment to using only a few natural ingredients sets them apart from other brands that rely on artificial ingredients. In this episode, Jen talks with Simón Sacal, Founder and CEO at Solely. With more than 20 years of experience in the food industry, Simón is a pioneer in creating healthy snack options. He started Solely by inventing a technology to make fat-free potato chips and has since expanded the brand to include fruit jerky, gummies, dried fruit, and pasta. Simón's mission is to provide consumers with clean, nutritious, and guilt-free snacks made from ingredients that humans have used for thousands of years. Simón talks with Jen about how Soley uses real ingredients, like organic fruit, to create their fruit jerky, gummies, dried fruit, and pasta. Simón also shares how he sources organic fruits and the challenges in developing these products. He highlights the significance of organic farming in ensuring that the fruits used in their products are free from harmful chemicals. Key Takeaways [01:30] - An overview of Simon's background and how Solely got started. [02:59] - The fat-free movement. [05:04] - The challenges of creating clean and simple snacks. [07:21] - The challenges companies face in creating clean snacks. [09:18] - Solely's source for organic fruit. [11:15] - Solely's fruit jerky products and their taste profile. [14:57] - How Solely's fruit gummies are produced. [16:02] - Harmful ingredients in popular fruit snack brands. [20:13] - How Solely produces its pasta options: spaghetti squash and green banana. [23:34] - The best way to get Solely products. Quotes [04:08] - "At Solely, we go far beyond better for you. We do good for you. So, we only have food that humans have been eating for thousands of years and that we know nourishes and is good for you." ~ Simón Sacal [09:34] - "Being close to the farmers is a huge part of the business in many ways. It makes it sustainable. It makes it human. It makes it work. It's the only way you can really control the fruit and make it long-term sustainable." ~ Simón Sacal [10:19] - "Sometimes, you think you're eating clean because the ingredients look clean. But if you have a lot of pesticides on the product, it could be even worse than having something that is not perceived as clean. So, we make a huge effort to go organic." ~ Simón Sacal Links  Simón Sacal on LinkedIn Solely Fruit Snacks Solely on Amazon Jimbo's Naturally Costco Kroger Albertsons Target Connect with our host Jen on Instagram Jen on Facebook Wake Up and Read the Labels! We're back to this century for this months episode as we talk about our favourite songs from 2011, ranging from indiepop to black metal, with various arguments about The Muppets along the way. We've each chosen our 10 favourite songs of the year and sent them over to Colin's wife Helen, who put the playlists together and distributed them so we were each given a playlist of the 20 songs from the other two hosts, along with our own 10. We then ranked the playlists in order of preference and sent them back to Helen, who totalled up the points and worked out the order. She also joined us on the episode to read out the countdown, which we found out as we recorded so all reactions are genuine. Now, admittedly, in parts we're a little bit brutal to some of the songs in the list as we're three separate people with differing music tastes, but please remember that to be in this episode at all the songs have to have been in one of our top 10's of that year. Bands featured in this episode include (In alphabetical order, no spoilers here!) - Battles, Beastie Boys, Bon Iver, Anna Calvi, Childish Gambino, Death Cab For Cutie, The Deer Tracks, Dir En Grey, Fleet Foxes, The Go! Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

Composition by Zetwal Nwar.  "the original was sliced. I selected three slices, and each one of them went through modular effects/delays/reverb. The viewmaster reminds me of that funny feeling when we were playing as kids in our big family garden, and the viewmaster was kind of the toy that belonged to my father, so he would often come and meet my friends and I when we were playing and showed us how amazing the viewmaster was. The composition tried to explore the sound in a 'slowed and reverb' approach to kind of create a big industrial imagery of the mechanics inside the viewmaster, the effects kind of help me recreate that busy factory vibe. I wanted to keep it short and feel like some  factory noise you hear during a usual commuting, the noise is familiar but very momentary; a repetition(delay) based on your routine same principle in a way of the delay/reverb combination. No additional/external sound was used." This is part of the Obsolete Sounds project, the world's biggest collection of disappearing sounds and sounds that have become extinct – remixed and reimagined to create a brand new form of listening. Dropshipping On Facebook Marketplace (BETTER THAN AMAZON) In this video we are talking about dropshipping on Facebook Marketplace and comparing it to Amazon Dropshipping! Dropshipping on Facebook Marketplace has become super relevant in the ecommerce space in the last year. I will be discussing the pros and cons of dropshipping on facebook marketplace compared to amazon dropshipping. If you know how to sell on facebook marketplace or on Amazon FBA don't worry I got you covered. Topics covered in this video: 1. The longevity of Amazon Dropshipping Vs Facebook Dropshipping? 2. Which requires more capital? 3. Which dropshipping is best for beginners? 4. Which is more profitable? Let us start with the question: Which you should choose if you are a beginner? -- Facebook for sure -- Reasons Why: 1. Facebook has NO barrier to entry 2. Facebook allows you to get paid out Monday-Friday 3. Facebook is not as strict as Amazon when it comes to metrics to keep your marketplace open. Which requires more capital? - Amazon definitely requires more capital. Which is more profitable? - This one is a double-edged sword - 1. Amazon allows you to make $10k+ per month in NET PROFIT if you have the $75k+ in order to make the $10k in net profit. 2. Facebook will allow you to make $2k-$7k NET Profit but only spend $25k-$40k. 3. Essentially on Facebook, you're sort of capped out at $7k-$8k on JUST ONE STORE, BUT to make $7k-$8k, you need far less money than you do on Amazon. Which will last longer? - No one knows the answer to this question since there is still people who are successfully dropshipping on Amazon, but I am going with "Facebook Dropshipping" and here is why: 1. Facebook is not solely a marketplace platform like Amazon and Walmart. 2. Facebook is like an Octopus - they have so many branches to the platform that they are not SOLEY focused on the marketplace aspect right now & I truly believe that we have 2+ years before they really start to even start to pay attention to this. 3. Also they are really paying attention to shops and trying to allow businesses to sell on the platform right now. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ecommerce-university/support
