This week our discussion is around the news that Canon Mike Pilavachi, founder of Christian youth festival Soul Survivor, has stepped down from his role as Associate Pastor of Soul Survivor Church, St.Albans, as safe-guarding concerns against him are investigated. We look at individuals, at systems, at King David's Old Testament transgressions and how God would like us to respond and how we as a church family can learn to build greater health into our organisations to help prevent future leaders from failing.
Many of us want to obey the command of Jesus to set the captives free but feel ill-equipped. Apart from the teaching, we will have plenty of time to practise in a relaxed setting, allowing the Holy Spirit to minister through us to bring inner healing to past hurts. If you are a beginner or used to ministering to others then come along and be expectant of the Holy Spirit working through you. Jeannie is passionate about setting the captives free and enabling others to do likewise. She has been part of Soul Survivor Church team since it began. For many years she has been involved in teaching and equipping others in healing ministry in the UK and around the globe, and has been a regular speaker at the Soul Survivor Festivals. Jeannie has written several books the latest being Our Hands His Healing. This seminar was recorded in January 2020 at the Vineyard National Leaders' Conference.

From a message shared with a joint gathering of The Mission House Church and Soul Survivor Church on Sunday, June 22, 2008 in Triangle Square Costa Mesa, CA. A candid look at the Church...and the read more
This message is somewhat of a challenge to pursue the emphasis of the previous two weeks. Namely, to participate with spiritual gifts in the church ... to see one another as crucial and essential elements when we gather together. And, to help us to move away from "vain worship" where we treat a worship time as self-serving and self-edifying. The Spirit dwells among God's people and enables them to participate. Did you pray for your participation today? What did you bring today? As part of this message, the community is encouraged to act out a direction that Soul Survivor Church took nearly a decade ago ... their rebellious act in worship led to Matt Redman's song "The Heart of Worship."
