As we celebrate five years of God's faithfulness at Mission Church, we return to a foundational moment in the Gospel of Matthew—Peter's confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. In this powerful sermon from "The King and His Kingdom" series, we reflect on what kind of church we're becoming, what we're building on, and why Jesus alone must remain our foundation. Pastor John reminds us that Jesus is building His Church, and not even the gates of hell will prevail against it. Whether you're new to faith or growing deeper, this message is a timely call to root our lives and churches on the only unshakable foundation—Christ Himself.Mission Church — www.missionlasvegas.com

In this powerful message, Living for Jesus – No Middle Ground, we are reminded that there is no safe middle place when it comes to following Christ. Drawing from John 1 and other key scriptures, the sermon confronts the illusion of “neutrality” and shows that we are either with Jesus or against Him. With biblical insight, relatable examples, and a heartfelt call to decision, the message challenges us to move beyond lukewarm faith and embrace full surrender. This isn't just about good works or religious activity—it's about receiving the life and light that come only through Christ. True success isn't measured by possessions, achievements, or reputation, but by having Jesus at the center of our lives. As the message concludes in a time of prayer and altar call, listeners are invited to recommit, rededicate, or make a first-time decision to follow Jesus fully.Be encouraged, be challenged, and above all, be reminded: living for Jesus leaves no middle ground.
Life is about one thing - pleasing God (2 Cor. 5). Whether present in the body or at home with the Lord, our aim stays the same. Pastor unpacks how to break free from people-pleasing and live with holy focus: fear God, serve with sincerity(not eye-service), and do the will of God from the heart. We're reminded that God saved us to save others - He's entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation. That means renewing our minds (Rom. 12:2), pursuing sanctification (1 Thess. 4:3), and relying on grace when we feel weakest (2 Cor. 12:9). Soldiers don't get tangled in civilian affairs (2 Tim. 2:4); they work with purpose. So we work hard to persuade others, not to perform, but because love compels us. Rest is holy, but quitting isn't.Practical checkpoints:Which choice makes me more like Jesus?Which path makes me rely most on God?What brings others closer to Him and gives Him the most glory?Lean in for a faith-stirring call to bold obedience, quiet integrity, and daily courage. Receive fresh grace to study the Word, carry the gospel, and keep going—heart first, eyes on Jesus - until every step says, “My aim is to please Him.”
Let's talk.
In this week's message from our Holy Grit series, Pastor Clint unpacks what it really means to build the house of God. From the Leaning Tower of Pisa to the Tower of Babel, history shows us what happens when we build on the wrong foundation. But Psalm 127 reminds us: “Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.”This message will challenge you to stop settling for temporary things and start investing in what matters most: people, eternity, and the Church Jesus is building.
In this episode, we take a brief intermission from our Bible deep dive to chat with Tim Hutchinson, a convert from Protestantism to Catholicism. Tim grew up in a vibrant Evangelical Christian community where he learned to love God and the Bible deeply. But one question kept troubling him: why are Protestant denominations so divided? Surely the Church Jesus founded wasn't meant to be so fractured. For years, he found no answer to his question, until one unexpected comment at a party struck him like lightning and set him on a journey that led him home to the Catholic Church. In this conversation, Tim shares the joys and struggles of his conversion and the discoveries that he made along the way. What happens when love loses its backbone? In Revelation 2:18–29, Jesus calls out the church in Thyatira—not for hatred, but for tolerance. They tolerated false teaching, sin, and spiritual compromise, all in the name of “love.” In this message, we explore why love without truth isn't love at all, and how we can guard our hearts and churches from the subtle seduction of spiritual Jezebels in our own day. Drawing from Scripture, history, and cultural trends, we'll learn how to hold conviction without cruelty, speak truth without arrogance, and love in a way that leads people to Jesus—not away from Him.8.3.25 - Message 8

Discipleship was never meant to be a solo journey. In The Life of a Disciple: The Church, we'll take a fresh look at what it means to truly follow Jesus—not just in belief, but in belonging. Jesus didn't just call individuals; He established His Church as a gathering of people committed to Him and one another. The Church, as a literal assembly, was birthed to shape us, challenge us, and send us. Through it, we are admonished in Christ, strengthened in our pursuit of Him, and mobilized to reflect His love to the world. In this sermon, Pastor Andrew defines the purpose of the Church: to exalt Christ, equip believers, and reach the lost. Whether you're new to faith or deep in your walk with God, this message will help you see how being a disciple means being deeply connected to the Church Jesus built.

Rome didn't start the church — they hijacked it?In this episode of the Word of Mouth Podcast, I expose how the same empire that crucified Jesus eventually claimed to represent Him. The Protector | Isaiah's Voice | Part 8 Outreach Director and Lodge Pastor Drew Paulette continued our summer series with a message from Isaiah 43. Written to the Israelites during their exile in Babylon, this chapter offers a picture of a people living in captivity — far from home, disconnected from their identity, and uncertain of their purpose. But God speaks through Isaiah to remind them — and us — of what is true:“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” (v. 1) Even today, as believers living as pilgrims in a world not our own, we often need this same reminder. Drew challenged us with two questions: What captivities are we living in? What cisterns are we drinking from? We were made to glorify God — our lives a song to the Lord. But have the dry, broken cisterns of this world distracted us? Have they lured us away from our true identity and calling? Take heart, Church: Jesus has set us free. We are no longer bound to sin or the empty promises of the world. Because of Him, we drink from the well of Living Water — one that flows in aeternum. “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.” (v. 18-21)
Sunday, June 29, 2025 – Pastor Mike is continuing our study on the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, focusing today on Truth #10, “The Church and Its Mission.” We discussed the biblical identity of the Church—not as a building or denomination, but as the living Body of Christ, the very dwelling place of God through the Spirit. Each believer, born of the Spirit, belongs to the heavenly assembly— which is the Church Jesus came to establish on earth. One of the most important truths from today’s message is that our citizenship is not of this world, but in Heaven. We examined the divine missions given to the Church: to evangelize the lost, to worship God together, to build up and disciple believers into the likeness of Christ, and to demonstrate God’s love through acts of compassion. This sermon was both a reminder and a challenge—Christ didn’t build His Church to stay still, but to move forward in His mission with power, purpose, and passion.

It's not simply a building or a weekend service. It's the living body of Christ, chosen and designed by God to carry out his mission in the world. From the very beginning, Jesus made it clear that he would build his Church—and not even the powers of hell could stop it. (Matthew 16:18)Let's unpack how the Church works by looking at four core truths from Scripture.1. There Is One True ChurchWhen Jesus spoke of “my church” in Matthew 16:18, he wasn't referring to a specific building or religious organization. The Greek word for church is ekklesia, meaning “the called-out ones”—a gathering of people summoned for a purpose. The Church Jesus established is the community of all true believers in Jesus throughout history. This is sometimes called the “Universal Church.”It's important to understand that the Universal Church transcends denominations, traditions, and geographic locations. No single church or association can claim to be “the one true Church.” The true Church consists of everyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. The Bible uses powerful imagery to help us understand the nature of the Church:The Bride of Christ (Revelation 19:7) reflects the intimate and loving relationship between Jesus and his people.A Spiritual Family and Nation (Ephesians 2:19) shows how believers belong to one household, united under God's rule.A Temple and a House (Ephesians 2:20-21) describes how we are being built together as a dwelling place for God's Spirit.2. Jesus Is the Head of His ChurchColossians 1:18 makes it clear: Christ is the head of the Church, which is his body. This means Jesus himself is in charge. He leads through the truth of the Bible, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and through biblically qualified leaders like elders and pastors.Jesus guides the Church like a shepherd leads his flock. In 1 Peter 5:1-4, elders are instructed to care for God's people with humility and a servant's heart, always pointing back to the Chief Shepherd—Jesus. While the Universal Church is invisible and eternal, it takes visible form through local churches. These are the communities where believers gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission. Though no single local church represents the entirety of the Universal Church, each one is a part of the larger body of Christ, carrying...
Pastor Mattie Montgomery traces the birth of the church in Ephesus and the Holy Spirit's transforming power in the lives of believers. You Are the Light of the World Authority and Responsibility Pastor Bryan Hudson, D.Min. Matthew 5:13, You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Main Themes: 1. Identity & Purpose Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” and “salt of the earth.” The church must understand its purpose not just as a community, but as a force for good in the world. We're not called to shine in the church only, but in the world—where light is needed most. The Lighthouse Analogy: A lighthouse doesn't remove the rocks or calm the sea, but it shines light to guide ships away from danger. Similarly, believers are called to shine in dark places, helping others avoid destruction. Challenges to Shining: We cannot shine effectively if we are living in darkness ourselves. God wants to make us blameless and harmless, as Philippians 2:15 says, so that we can shine in a crooked generation. Real-Life Application: Light = Good Works + Godly Living + Justice Shining includes helping the weak, standing for justice, and living righteously, not just evangelizing. Examples from scripture (Micah 6:8, Isaiah 1:17, Acts 20:35) support this. Biblical Justice & DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion): These values are biblical, not just political: Diversity: Revelation 7:9 Equity: Proverbs 2:9, 2 Samuel 8:15 Inclusion: Nehemiah 8:10, Jeremiah 22:3 Believers must not remain silent when injustice occurs but shine the light of truth and compassion. Authority of the Church: Jesus gave spiritual authority to His church (Matthew 16:19). We are to bind and loose in alignment with heaven, standing against darkness wherever God assigns us. Who is the Church? The church is not a building but people called by God (Ecclesia). We are the church wherever we go and must reflect Christ in action and truth. Conclusion: Your light must shine where it is needed—in society, politics, schools, neighborhoods. Don't hide your light. Let others see your good works and glorify God. “We all shine differently, but we are all called to shine.”

The Church thrives when it shifts from a consumer mindset to a contributor mindset, where every believer plays a role in God's mission. If we truly want to be the victorious Church Jesus envisioned, we must step up, serve, and fulfill the Great Commission together.
When we practice our faith in Jesus, He is amazed! We must learn to submit under the authority of Jesus in all things, accepting what He has in store for us and bringing others to Him so that they, too, may experience His mercy and grace.

Perhaps the most mysterious book of the Bible -- Revelation -- begins with messages from Jesus to seven churches in the ancient world. But saints and scholars alike have long noted that these messages apply to us as well. How? That's what Dr. Chris is going to discuss in a short series on the opening chapters of the book of Revelation. In this episode, we will finish our look at Jesus' message to the church in Pergamum and begin to look at His message to Thyatira. Enjoy!
Can we be a member of the exact same church that Jesus first created? How can we know exactly what that was? Let's discuss it today!
Can demons be in church? How do we preserve the unity of the church and its people that Paul emphasizes so much in his writing, even during his final hours?
"If politics is robbing you of peace, you might have misplaced your trust." Mic drop please for the quote above from today's show. Today the Pastor of my church Bent Tree Bible, Libin Abraham, joins us to dive into the tricky (but important) topic of Christians engaging in politics. We talk about how it's not just about showing up—it's about being prayerful, peaceful, prophetic, powerful, and purposeful. But the big reminder here? Our top loyalty is to Jesus, not any political party. We're here to make disciples, not stir up more division. Aside from talking about Christians engaging in politics, Libin also encourages us to trust in God's faithfulness, and that stepping out in faith is key as we do that—I love how Libin says that God moves at the pace of our next “yes.” So if you're feeling pulled to act, trust that God's right there with you. And don't let politics, fear, or anything else get in the way of your gospel influence. I can't wait for you to hear today's show and I'd love for you to share it with friends.
