I Followed a Blind Man Into the Jungle

I followed a blind man into the jungle... I’m not sure why but I was sure he could lead me. I was sure he could take me through the wild jungle ahead and we would both come out mostly unharmed. I was sure that among my choice of guides, 2 of whom had sight, I would look like a fool to choose the blind man for this specific journey in fact all of my peers chose the other 2 guides. Yet, the way he carried himself re assured me. He was not the most fit guide or the most well spoken on top of his obvious disability. But while the others led with their eyes he led with his feeling. When the other guides eyes failed them they would become entangled in obstacles and instead of immediately fixing their situation they would angrily claim “I never saw that coming, this shouldn’t be happening!”. Yet when the blind man came across obstacles he quickly overcame them as if he had done it a million times, no matter how intense the obstacle he would laugh and feel his way through, knowing there would be peace on the other end of the jungle. So I chose him & stayed very close behind just as he felt his way through obstacles I felt his ability to lead. And as I expected, we made it through the jungle to the other side with very little injury & far ahead of the other guides. As we got to a safe place the blind man stopped and congratulated me for making it out of the jungle, then asked if I was planning on exploring more in my life. I replied yes and he began to laugh then grabbed me by the shoulders and said “I suggest you do what I did around your age... I suggest you get rid of your sight & make yourself blind” I looked back puzzled, for all I knew the blind man had been this way since birth yet he proclaimed he took his own sight away around the same age I currently was... I asked him “Why? Wouldn’t that just set me back? I mean how am I supposed to relearn my way of life”. He said back “Notice the other guides, we are very very far in front of them. There is a lesson here: if you are always relying on your eyes to see all the possible issues you may encounter you will always be caught by unexpected events, our eyes are not 360 degrees... However when you accept the fact you will never be able to see all the possible problems & learn how to calmly move through any problem you can conquer any jungle in front of you. Therefore I recommend you get rid of your own sight & instead, practice feeling” --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mitch-wayne/support

Making time work for you How do you structure your work week? Has it been an effective use of your time? Scott always seems to be fired up and running on all cylinders. Part of his success is due to the fact that he has a very well thought out schedule. He has standing appointments for key business meetings, time planned to be with family, and time scheduled to work on passion projects like TAS. How it all started Some of the best ideas start off in the smallest ways. Scott found himself looking for ways to supplement his photography business when he started dipping his toe into online sales. Before he knew it, his business selling items online took off. There were many ups and downs along the way but Scott’s story goes to show that sometimes it takes just a little push to get things moving. What’s holding you back? What steps do you need to take to put you on the path toward success? Check out more of Scott’s inspiring story on this episode of The Amazing Seller! Imparting values to your children How did you learn from your parents? Did they sit down and impart wisdom to you or was it more from observation? What is YOUR plan to pass on your values to your children? On this episode of The Amazing Seller, Scott talks about his personal life, more specifically his parenting. He describes how his life as an entrepreneur has impacted his children and influenced the way they see the world. You can tell that Scott is super proud of his kids and he loves to share how they are taking the values that he has imparted to them and building off of it. What is your “WHY?” Wouldn’t it be nice if someone came along and waved a magic wand and granted your wildest dreams? But would that “Dream come true” be satisfying? Isn’t half the satisfaction in looking back at what you did to make the dream a possibility? On this episode of The Amazing Seller, Scott shares the advice he would give to parents who are considering becoming entrepreneurs. He emphasizes the need to understand your “Why.” Figure out what that dream is, write it out, print out images of it, and make it your goal. Be as specific as you possibly can so you know when times get hard, and you want to quit, you have something to look to and remember the reason behind what you are doing.
