Ever wonder what it takes to walk away from a successful career and start over from scratch? Adam Drucker went from IT executive to dishwasher, then built something extraordinary. In this episode, I speak with Adam Drucker, founder of Doctor Dough. His Reinvention story is great. After a thriving career in IT, Adam walked away from the keyboard in 2010 to start over as a dishwasher at Paradise Cove. He worked his way up into management, landed at Border Grill with celebrity chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken managing their food truck business, then launched his own restaurant, Big Mango Cafe, which expanded to two locations before he exited just ahead of COVID. The pizza he makes now is phenomenal. I've tasted it myself, and it's the real deal. From Takeout to Doctor DoughAdam grew up in a household where his mom, bless her heart, couldn't cook. He tells this hilarious story about coming back from college breaks and hearing all his friends rave about their mom's cooking, while all Adam wanted was takeout. Those sleepovers at friends' houses showed young Adam there was a whole world of flavor out there. It planted a seed. During lockdown, with zero interest in splurging on a backyard pizza oven, Adam set out to create truly great pizza dough for a standard home oven. His wife Rita—who is one of my favorite humans—said, "Hey, maybe other people would want this." What began as a quest for the perfect crust became Doctor Dough. Today he's curing the world's pizza ills through dough sales, private catering, pop-ups, and markets. What You Can LearnHere's what you can take from Adam's story: Start where you are. Adam started as a dishwasher without culinary school. If you've got an idea that won't leave you alone, lean into it. He spent nearly two years perfecting his dough recipe because he believed in what he was creating. Take the leap even when you're terrified—Adam still asks Rita, "Is this right?" There's fear and uncertainty, but he feels fulfilled, and that matters. Involve the people you love. Adam talks about pizza-making as a family activity, flour everywhere, creating memories that matter. That's what Reinvention is really about. The Doctor Will See You Now Ready to cure your pizza cravings? Y'all… this episode is one of those full-circle, only-God-could-write-this moments. I am beyond excited to introduce you to Howard Chang, also known as Quiqqly—the man who helped design the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys that so many of us (and now our kids and nephews) grew up playing with. And now? God has brought his creativity full circle—right into the pages of Scripture.Howard shares how, straight out of high school, he found himself designing hundreds of Ninja Turtle toys that would go on to shape generations. Decades later, those same designs resurfaced, reminding him that what God plants never truly disappears. But what makes this story even more powerful is Howard's personal journey with God—through divorce, sickness, being a single dad of three, depression, anxiety, and rock-bottom moments that became holy ground for radical transformation.Howard vulnerably shares how, twelve years ago, everything changed when he encountered the Lord in the middle of his deepest brokenness. Since then, God has restored his life and redeemed his creativity into something eternal. Now, Howard and his wife, Gloria, are launching an incredible new project: Bible-inspired collectible action figures—heroes like David, Moses, Noah, Deborah, Sarah, and even Goliath as a robotic figure—designed to spark faith, imagination, and conversation across generations. Their heart? To place God's truth right under the Christmas tree, reaching believers and non-believers alike. This episode is about:RedemptionFaith in the processCreativity for God's KingdomAnd how nothing in your story is wastedTruly, this conversation felt like different seasons of my own life colliding in the most God-ordained way—childhood nostalgia, ministry, and Kingdom purpose all meeting in one place.Highlighted TakeawaysGod can meet you at your absolute lowest and completely rewrite your story. What looks like coincidence is often God's coordination.Your gifts don't disappear—God redeems and reassigns them for His glory.Faith doesn't require full understanding—just obedience and trust. The heroes of the Bible remind us that real power comes from faith, not strength. Final Encouragement from Howard“Never give up on the process. God is always working—even when you can't see it.”Bio:Howard “Quiggly” Chang is the visionary creator of Ancientz—a bold, faith-fueled universe where spirit-powered robotic warriors battle darkness. But before Ancientz, Quiggly made his mark in pop culture history as one of the original creative forces behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy phenomenon. As Lead Toy Concept Artist at Varner Studios, he helped design some of the most iconic TMNT figures of the late '80s and '90s.Anchor Verse:Isaiah 55: 8-9Connect with Howard and Ancientz:Website: www.ancientz.comIG: https://www.instagram.com/ancientz_officialFB: https://www.facebook.com/share/1DCTwxcsXT/?mibextid=wwXIfr***We love hearing from you! "If you're somebody who is thinking about starting a business, I can tell you one thing: running the business is somewhat easy. It's all the emotional stuff, all the past trauma, all the core wound stuff, that's really what gets in the way."In this solo episode, I explore why we often feel scared about doing deep healing work. It's completely common to experience resistance because of the fear of the unknown and the looming question of who we will be on the other side. We often harbor an unconscious fear of what we might lose, whether it's relationships, comfort, or our current sense of safety, if we finally step into our power.I discuss how these fears stem from deep coping mechanisms created in childhood, where we learned to abandon ourselves to get our needs met. I also share my personal journey of leaving my job as a school counselor to fully commit to my business, describing the moment when the energetic frequency of staying became more painful than the fear of leaping. We dive into the nature of emotions as simply energy in motion and how resisting them causes symptoms like anxiety, procrastination, and self-doubt . Finally, I address how ancestral programming of self-sacrifice holds women back and why clearing core wounds is the most critical strategy for business owners to truly succeed.TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTSResistance to Transformation: Why we fear the unknown and the common hesitation to dive deep into breathwork. The Fear of Loss: Addressing the unconscious worry that healing trauma will force us to leave partners or lose friends.Childhood Survival Mechanisms: How we learned to abandon our authentic selves to ensure survival and how this projects onto our adult relationships.Personal Leap: The energetic disconnect between working as a school counselor and running a business, and the moment staying became impossible. The Breaking Point: How a baby chick breaking out of an egg perfectly describes the necessity of painful growth.Energy in Motion: Understanding that emotions just want to move and that resisting them causes anxiety, self-doubt, and business blocks.Ancestral Programming: Breaking the societal and ancestral pattern of self-sacrifice that keeps us from valuing our own needs. The Unknown as Power: Shifting from fearing the unknown to dancing with it as a source of pure potential and creativity.Trauma and Business: Why business strategy is easy, but the emotional work and core wounds are what stop entrepreneurs from expanding.**WAYS TO ENTER MY WORLD** When you leave a review of the podcast, send us a screenshot and we'll send you a $250 credit, you can apply to anything else in my world.Get a $500 discount when you join The Metamorphosis before 2025 ends. Look, it's been a rough couple of weeks for Philly sports ('ceptin the Flyers though!), so Jeff forgot that he MAY also host a SECRET OTHER podcast. With a similar name. We doubt it, because the full panel is IN with ENERGY this week. Eagles drama got you down? We have the holiday antidote to that. Sixers making you tear out your toupee? Settle down and don't act turrible. But for reals, we take both the Eagles and the Sixers to task for their frustrating and uneven year to date. There is time in both seasons - with the Birds being the most urgent. Today there's news that a Slay reunion could be coming...and sure, that's nice...but it's time to BRING it to LA on Monday night. Sure seems far away...Next it's Sixers time, with a post-Joel / Maxey-led version of the team coming into focus. Time will tell if this is just a .500 team with bubble playoff aspirations...or if the injuries can clear up at the right time to give this team a spark. Will be great to get Oubre back.Flyers - been on a TEAR and we hope it continues, not withstanding the drubbing we received at the hands of the Pens. Crosby you DICK. Let's get a bounce back game going for your "playoff level" Flyers. And get well Tyson, we're gonna need you healthy down the stretch.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod

Today on the podcast, we're joined by Lizzie Lasater - teacher, writer, creator, and daughter of Judith Hanson Lasater, who has built her own vibrant path in the yoga world from her home in Austria. Lizzie shares how a chance meeting with her now-husband led her to move across the world, learn German as an adult (“why is this so hard?!”), and build a global online teaching career rooted in rest, clarity, and presence. We discuss what it was like growing up around yoga before it became popular, how she eventually discovered her own path into the practice, and how she deepened it with the help of her mom - from seeking early sequencing advice to eventually collaborating on online courses, books, and shared experiences. We explore continued learning, evolving as a teacher, and the strange, beautiful blur between being the student and being the teacher. We also dive into real-life stuff:• staying grounded while traveling• balancing teaching and social media work• her Sunday Reset newsletter & setting “rest buffers”• writing a book on Savasana + the restorative lifestyle• practicing what you preach when you're tired• making time to take care of yourself as a teacher• cultivating inner wisdom + knowing when to use external resourcesLizzie also shares her philosophy on what students actually need, including the idea that “restorative yoga is a subtractive practice.” And stay tuned for a hilarious story about her and her mom recording content in a studio they shared with rappers. This is a warm, honest, and funny conversation about teaching, rest, growth, and finding your own way. The “messy middle” is the part most of us want to skip—after the rush of a new beginning and long before the satisfying finish. In this solo episode, I share why this season is not a mistake, how it shows up in creative work, business, and relationships, and what actually helps you stay with it instead of self-isolating or burning it all down.I tell two behind-the-scenes stories:Subway Dreams: the indie documentary I stopped promoting after a harsh review—plus the counter-example of a director who kept iterating, resubmitting, and ultimately premiered at Tribeca.Marriage in real life: what it looked like to stay through a rocky, high-conflict period with my now-husband—and the specific supports that got us through. You'll hear:What the messy middle is (and why it feels like tangled spaghetti)Why the instinct to self-isolate makes it harder—and what to do insteadHow to use pacing, breaks, and co-regulation so you don't crash and torch the projectWhy holding a clear vision and finding pleasure now keeps you movingThe mindset reframe: care more about connection than “saving face”Try this:Get support (coach or buddy up)Pace yourself and take real breaksKeep your vision close—and let yourself enjoy the process nowWhen fear of “how it looks” spikes, return to connection (clients, audience, partner, community, self)Work with meIf you're in your own messy middle and want steady support—nervous-system-safe, compassionate, and practical—I offer 1:1 coaching and a small group space.Website: www.annaholtzman.comEmail: anna@annaholtzman.comIG: @anna_holtzmanThanks for listening—and for staying with your process. You're not behind; you're in it.

This week on the Anchored by the Sword Podcast, I'm joined by Maddie Joy Fischer, whose brand new devotional Rest & Rely: A 60-Day Devotional to Replace Fear, Anxiety, and Worry with God's Truth releases this Tuesday—and truly, the timing could not be more perfect. As the holiday season approaches, fear, anxiety, grief, and pressure have a way of rising to the surface. Maddie courageously shares her personal journey with anxiety, insecurity, control, and fear—including her struggle with health anxiety and a lifelong fear of flying—and how God gently led her into a deeper place of surrender, rest, and reliance on Him.We talk about what it looks like to stop striving in our own strength and learn to live first as daughters, not employees of God. Maddie beautifully unpacks how rest and reliance work together, how healing is often a process, and how God uses even our turbulence to teach us who He truly is.This conversation is full of truth, tenderness, and hope for anyone who feels overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, or afraid.✨ Highlighted TakeawaysFear grows when we unknowingly “feed it,” but freedom begins when we starve it with truth.Rest isn't just slowing down—it's learning to receive God's grace in the middle of life's chaos.Relying on God means fully casting, not casting and carrying.Healing doesn't always happen instantly—sometimes God teaches us who He is in the process. We serve best when we first learn how to simply be daughters at His feet. This episode is an invitation to lay down striving, pick up surrender, and rediscover the peace that only comes from truly resting and relying on the Lord.Bio: Maddie Joy Fischer is a 26 year old writer, speaker, and worship leader in St.Louis, MO. She is a wife, the oldest of five siblings, and a born and raised Pastor's kid. She is also an ambassador (writer) for Live Original, Sadie Roberson's ministry. Maddie's passion is to point people to Jesus through living a life of surrender. For 10 years, she has shared this passion on her social media platforms with a desire to see people grow in knowledge of God's word, boldness to proclaim it, and love for the One who it's all about. She continues to take every opportunity she is given to live out the calling God has prepared for her life as He has continues to grow her ministry every step of the way. Have you been feeling like your energy is constantly being siphoned off by outdated systems or unresolved trauma? That stops today. My incredible friend and energetic powerhouse, Andrea Donnelly, returns to the show to unveil her groundbreaking new technology: "Reclaim Your Gold". Andrea is one of the most psychically connected healers I have ever met, and in today's conversation, we dive into how to retrieve the power and 'spiritual gold' (your innate sovereignty) that you may have unknowingly surrendered to the old systems. If you don't know Andrea, she's a Shamanic Healer, Intuitive Mentor, and Creator of the Future Medicine Modality, which she used to heal herself from previously disabling nerve pain and a great deal of complex, intergenerational trauma. Now, she certifies others in Future Medicine and shares it with people around the world looking to reclaim their sovereignty and power as creator beings.I recently stepped into a 30-day container with Andrea as a "guinea pig" for her "Reclaim Your Gold", and the results were undeniable, from a massive influx of new clients and income to profound shifts in my relationships. We go deep into what it means to be a creator being, the literal and energetic "gold" stored in our blood and bones, and why this work is the perfect complement to the Inner Child Healing and breathwork I do in programs like The Metamorphosis.Whether you're a business owner looking to expand or a spiritual seeker ready to exit the matrix, this conversation will help you anchor into your highest timeline and restore your sovereignty.TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTSMy "Ode to Black Friday" sale - Private breathwork sessions to help you identify and heal core wounds permanently. The "Hot Con" of the Matrix - Why societal systems were never designed to work for us and how we are waking up to this reality.Gold in the Blood and Bones: The origin story of Andrea's new modality.Energy Harvesting & "Loosh": How our energy is extracted to fuel the "crazy train" of this realm and "the Anunnaki mining for gold".The Speed of Healing: Why being fully open to the unknown accelerates the healing process and allows miracles to land instantly.Defining Your GoldSynergy with Inner Child Work: How Andrea's energy work compliments the process of reclaiming power from the Mother Wound and reorienting your energy back into yourself.Tangible Client Wins**WAYS TO ENTER MY WORLD** When you leave a review of the podcast, send us a screenshot and we'll send you a $250 credit, you can apply to anything else in my world.Black Friday Flash Sale Special: Private breathwork sessions available only for 24 hours. I can only fit TWO titles into the the podcast title. But just know we do get to the Phillies.BUT FEAR NOT Philly phaithful, we bring the power and the PAIN to this episode of Hoagie Mouth. A spicy hoagie spread, if you will. North Wilmington's finest Matt F joins us again to pontificate on your favorite winningest team that everyone loves to hate. The Eagles are 8-2 but is it a MIRAGE? Or are we well on our way to the Super Bowl repeat? Maybe both things can be true. We dissect it all, from the yucko stinko offense to the wowza stunna D. It's a mixed bag, and you'll LIKE IT.Next - we go enthusiatic on the Sixers and Mad MAXEY, who has just skyrocketed again to the highest echelon of the sport. It does feel like "his team" now, but hey, we just got PG back, and JoJo is not far behind. What team will take the court on a given night? Come back in the weeks ahead to get our take on that shiz.Lastly, it's "Choose Yer Phillie" as we move into the free agency period. What will happen as the choices do get made...Kyle or Ranger? JT or Bader? Can't I haz them all? No? Harumph. Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod

He speaks fluent Mandarin and learned early business game watching his pops run a women's shoe company — lessons in hustle, people, and discipline that still shape him today. After playing college football, life took a turn that led him straight into the world of cultivation. Through a girlfriend, he met the grower who became his first real mentor, the person who opened the door to everything Joe's doing now. From there, he hit the road:California → New York → Oregon, soaking up game, building skills, and learning what real cultivation takes in different parts of the country.Joe's holding it down in Oregon, always hunting for the next new hitter and staying active at every cannabis event he can pull up to. He moves with love for the plant, shares game with the people, and keeps the fire in rotation. Keep an eye out for him — because when Joe shows up, he's got a jar of something funky that you're definitely gonna want to try.⸻

Today we have Jenni Rawlings on the podcast, and we had so much fun diving into the technical side of the yoga practice- cues, anatomy, alignment, and how to update your practice to fit your own body so things actually feel good. We talk about her beginnings, how she built her career, and what it's been like teaching online. We even discovered some Chicago crossover and shared training experiences. We get into movement science, Yoga Alliance requirements, and why there's so much more to learn beyond a 200-hour training. We talk about the importance of self-inquiry, the structure of Ashtanga, strength, and adding load to the body, and whether we ever believed yoga was the end-all be-all. Jenni also shares about her time running a yoga clothing store, and we look at exercise science, pain, and what strength really means in a yoga context.Find Jenni Rawlings Online:Website: www.jennirawlings.comIG: https://www.instagram.com/jenni_rawlingsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@jenni_rawlingsJoin us at the Castro Room, November 15th from 1-3 PM!Want to support our podcast? This week on the Anchored by the Sword Podcast, I'm thrilled to welcome my friend Alexandra Hoover, author of the brand-new book You Can Let Go: Make Peace with Your Past, Break Free from Offense, and Move Forward with God, released in October.Alex and I dive deep into her powerful story — from a childhood marked by trauma and instability to an encounter with Jesus at age 18 that completely changed the trajectory of her life. Today, she is a wife, mom of three, author, teacher, and a woman passionate about helping others walk in healing, identity, and freedom. Her book cuts to the heart of something every single one of us wrestles with: offense, the ways it shapes us, hides in us, and tries to lead our lives until we finally let God address the roots. This conversation is rich, honest, layered, and so needed — especially for women who are tired of carrying wounds they never asked for and stories they didn't choose.
Hello! Thanks for tuning into episode 66. We are so excited to be back in this space with everyone. In this silly little welcome back episode, we have a very casual check in and chit chat- neurodivergent style, with lots of trailing off topic, show quotes, and special interest talks, of course. We are so excited to show you what's up our sleeves....Thanks for listening
Ah YES, I really look forward to when we can get all FLYERED up - and as regular Hoagie Mouthers know, that means TIM F has joined us again! We break down all of the movings and the shakings on the 2025-26 hockey squad, 15 games into the season. We're hot and we're cold like Katy Perry on them Flyers. Maybe Michkov can get all of his focus and mechanics down - and Tocc should be the coach to get the best out of him. We even live-look-in on the game against the Oilers. For some reason, we keep scoring game-winners that get called back, and then we lose. Like last night.BUT lots to get positive about. The Capitals are doing worse than us LOLOL.Onto everyone's favorite world champion team that gets GRIPED ABOUT on a daily basis - the Eagles! Another win, another fountain of consternation sprays its negativity over the city. But like AJ said yesterday in his locker room presser....anyone with eyes can see that the offense is off, and it's egregious that we're not using #11 to the extent that we should. I suppose we should have a nice casual "get right" game again on Sundee *checks notes* OH MAN it's SNF against the Lions at the Linc! We are getting healthy, and we're getting ready. The episode went a bit long, so come back next week for a deeper dive on the Sixers. Mike always gets a little synopsis in, good work there sir.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod
