It's all about the contractors of the great state of Alabama. ANYTHING we think may help you start, grow, and run your contracting business, will show up here.
Beginning the first week of January, 2023, the Alabama Contractors Podcast returns! New episodes, new guests, new topics, and a new energy, just in time for the new year. If you want to reach out to us, with ideas for topics, or guests, or need us for any reason, call us at 205-881-4074. Thank you! Big Dave
Sometimes, I think about something that might make a cool episode, but then, there just isn't enough to make a FULL episode. Today, I unload!
Well, while we truly apologize for the 2 week break in episodes, we are back! So, what are you afraid of?
SO, Dan made it back to the podcast today! He needs your help, or at least someone's help, and I drop knowledge on a book that just might change your business life. Give it a listen, and thank you for tuning in!
So, who is Seth Holloway, you ask? Well, as you are about to find out, Seth runs The CutOff News. Lots to like about this man, and the service his online news site provides. Wanna get your name out in the area, he can do that for you. Give it a listen, and thank you for tuning in. If you need us, call me at 205-281-5851, or email us at alabamacontractorspodcast@gmail.com.
Yeah, we are taking a slightly messier turn on this one, but I bet you get something out of it. Jake Snavely, owner of Bio-One is on the show. Contractors from across the state call this man, when the job requires a special kind of cleaning. He is as close as the contracting world gets to a Mob "Cleaner", and I hope you enjoy.
Talking about a few different things this morning, including disaster plans(for contractors). Give it a listen!
We are just gonna "wing-it", but that doesn't mean you should. Let's talk about adjustment, for those times when you plan goes to crap.
Everyone here has one thing in common, they are looking for a better way of drumming up business. The ladies from Art House Creative are here to help. Hey, they out the game plan, dealt out some great, free advice, and told us they are how we(and you) can work with them to really kick it up a notch. Give this a listen, and then give them a call!
Jeremy Smith, up and coming contractor, and recovering hot rodder sits down with the boys from Alabama Contractors Podcast to take up through starting up a small contractor business, and his plans to not be small much longer. Give it a listen, and then save his number in ya phone... you are gonna need him one day.
A quick hit today on getting the advice you need, for whatever that next thing is on your To Do List. You are all experts in the construction field, but what aren't you an expert at?
Great episode today! I had Loraine Hobson in the house. She tells you exactly what you need to know, to fix a problem you haven't noticed you had, yet. Retirement planning is important. Health Insurance is critical. And Worker's Comp is a must. But even with all of that, there is a huge gap in coverage you need to learn about. Think about it... Even if you have spent every dollar you are willing to, on your employees, your businesses' Workers Comp policy EXCLUDES YOU! What happens if you can't work? Hurt on the job(been there), run over your foot in a golf cart(done that), fall out of a tree stand(came close)... some of yall's businesses wouldn't survive. Listen to Loraine, she can help!
Hello, welcome back! This episode is all about setting up those processes, that will have you consistantly beating out your competition. Are you the best at what you do? Prove it.
Hey, gonna keep this one short, so you can all get back to your fams. Just wanted to talk to you for a minute about the Christmas season, and let you know what we wish for tomorrow. Merry Christmas! David & Dan
It's coming up for most of you in the next few weeks, those Worker's Comp audits, and the resulting bills. That is right, we are talking about how to end the madness, and we are pulling no punches!
There are things we do, that suck up too much of our time, when compared to what it pays us to do them. We mention a few, and talk about way to avoid the suck. If you have an idea of how to avoid these time sucks, comments or ideas for this or any episode, please give us(David) a call at 205-281-5851, or email us at alabamacontractorspodcast@gmail.com.
This week, we are honored to bring you the President of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders. Elliott Pike talks about his experiences as a remodeler in the area, and all the great things the GBAHB is doing, on behalf of the Builders, Remodelers, Trademen, and Associates they represent. A poor internet connection made for a slightly less smooth interview, but it is full of information that you can use to take your business to the next level. As always, you can reach us at alabamacontractorspodcast@gmail.com, or by calling 205-281-5851. Thank you, Dave
Just a short listen on this Thanksgiving morning. Hoping to add a little perspective, if you will.
Everyone thinks risk management is about insurance, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. In fact, this discussion really just scratches the surface of the ways to mitigate your risk, apart from your commercial insurance. Don't worry, you know I will get to the insurance stuff, eventually! You can contact us about anything(the poscast, insurance, when to plant your winter squash, literally anything), by droppign an email to alabamacontractorspodcast@gmail.com. And, I am always available by phone at 205-281-5851. Thanks as always, Dave
Forgive the Umms and Ahhs in this one, a bit of new podcaster nerves or something, but no worries, we are ironing that out. This episode is all about finding ways to get your name and number out to the public, without needing to bust open that piggy bank. As always, if you hear something you want us to dig further into, email us at alabamacontractorspodcast@gmail.com. And if you need to reach us about anything podcast or insurance related, you can call Dave at 205-281-5851.
Just a quick introductory episode, to let you know what we are going to be doing, and why.
