In this episode of True Tales From Old Houses, Daniel and Stacy start by revisiting their favorite takeaways from the Lustron House interview, including why metal walls are both brilliant and bonkers, in the very best way. Then, Stacy dives into the beautifully controlled chaos of preparing Blake Hill House for its next chapter. The only thing multiplying faster than boxes is the list of things left to do. Meanwhile, Daniel leans into the satisfying rhythm of repair and maintenance, restoring light fixtures for his resale shop, and chasing the elusive dream of the whitest whites with a new favorite cleaning product. Finally, they reflect on productivity and priorities, and the importance of staying connected when life feels like one big to-do list. Lisa knows about To-Do Lists and how who she is can get stuck in how well she crosses everything off. Join Lisa Granger and me to day on Welcome Heart: Living a Legacy Life. Lisa hosts A Woman's Heart Podcast and radio station and her legacy and desire is to encourage women to look to God for hope and healing rather than what she can accomplish on any given day. Lisa learned to recognize the difference between hoping she could fulfill her dreams and expectations (and other's expectations) and hoping in the One Who made her to relate well with Himself with peace and quiet and joy, no matter the circumstances.  Lisa offers her free resource for all my listeners today of 8 Verses of Hope.  Some gems from our conversation: God can handle all my emotions, good and bad—he's no wimp! I want to act on any prompts the Lord is giving me so that I can encourage others. God puts something special in every woman's heart to share with the world. I learned to put my hope in God rather than what I could accomplish for God. Hopelessness is exhausting. Hope provides an energy that enables me to do the next thing with faith and strength. Faith will fuel hope and hope fuels my faith.  I am in the process of overcoming deep roots of shame and feelings of inadequacy.  If my To-Do List is too long, I'm learning to ask myself: "Are these tasks from God or from an oversensitive sense of other's expectations, including my own?"

I really don't like the title of this week's episode because we're talking about so much more...First of all, we bust a few productivity-boosting myths: like you should do the (apparently) important things first or you should do the task you'd prefer not to have to do at all before you do anything else; like you should have a "To Do List" or have a plan or, God help us, an Action Plan; like multi-tasking, otherwise known to cognitive psychology as trying to half do a load of things badly simultaneously. Ah... Myths!More importantly, this episode provides you with a step-by-step Blueprint that will boost an awful lot more than your productivity.Because, essentially, we're talking about focus and flow in this episode. And we're talking about the importance of focus and flow in everything - focus is not just a work thing, obviously.Allied to that Blueprint is an exploration of "compartmentalisation" - actually another aspect or attribute of Flow.In short, this episode is longer than usual (bit of a paradox there!) because there's so much in it - so much that will change your life.

Hello Beautiful! Let's talk about something we all love to hate—control. In this episode, I took you on a little meditation journey to ditch the chaos and open yourselves up to receiving all the good vibes. Spoiler alert: we don't need to white-knuckle every step of this fertility thing! Read The Illusion of Control over on the Blog: https://www.findingfertility.co/blog/Illusion%20of%20Control%20Infertility%20Failed%20IVF%20IUI%20Pregnancy%20Issues The Illusion of Control: How Letting Go Can Transform Your Fertility Journey During Infertility, IVF & Beyond Met three fabulous characters: Mabel: The Queen of Overthinking & To-Do Lists (we love her, but girl needs to chill). Monica: The grounded guide reminding you to breathe and TRUST the process. Monique: The unapologetic truth-teller, side-eyeing your control freak tendencies. I spill the tea on how trusting, surrendering, and letting go can actually make you feel more empowered, not less. And we're all about small, actionable steps here—no 300-point fertility checklists, thank you very much. The Illusion of Control Let's call it what it is: CONTROL is a sneaky little minx that makes you feel productive but leaves you spinning your wheels. We channeled our inner Mabels (bless her Type A heart) and reminded her that micromanaging every little thing won't speed things up. Trust & Surrender I know, I know—“trust” and “surrender” sound like buzzwords on a coffee mug. But seriously, letting go of the need to control everything doesn't mean giving up—it means opening the door for better things to flow in. Baby steps, babe. Self-Awareness is Sexy Radical honesty, anyone? I challenged you to check yourself before you wreck yourself. What's essential? What's just busywork? Bonus points if you kick that checklist to the curb and lean into grace instead of grind. Joy, Gratitude & Self-Care Control blocks joy—it's science (or at least Monica-science). Slow down, make time for what lights you up, and let your body and intuition do their thing. Pro tip: less Googling, more dancing around the kitchen. Alright, here's your homework (but make it fun): Be radically honest: Notice when you're spiraling into overthinking mode (and laugh at yourself a little). Simplify your list: Do the important stuff and leave the rest. Seriously, you're not a fertility robot. Build trust: Your body's got this. Let it work its magic without you micromanaging every second. Find joy: Do one thing this week that's just for YOU. Bonus if it makes you giggle like a kid. Make a small shift: Pick one thing to let go of this week—like skipping that extra supplement deep dive or saying no to something that drains you. Listen, queen: control isn't the key to your fertility kingdom. Shifting from fear to trust? Now that's where the magic happens. Let go, tune in, and take it one step at a time. And if you're ready to go deeper, I've got you covered with community sessions, one-on-one magic, and tools to help you finally ditch the chaos. So, what's your one small shift this week? I'm rooting for you—and so is Monique, with her sassy clap-back energy. I'm deep-diving into TEN truths, peeling back the layers of chaos with practical tools, empowering insights, and her real-life experiences. Whether you're feeling stuck in your fertility journey or wrestling with overwhelm and doubt in another area of life, these conversations offer a roadmap to healing and transformation. The Daily Boost | Coaching You Need. Success You Deserve.

I'm sure you have a lot to do today. You're probably in for a busy day if you use a traditional To-Do list. If I may, I'd like to pass on some advice to make your days much more fun. LOSE your "To-Do List." Replace it with a "Did I Do It List."   Of course, a traditional To-Do list will get the job done. But it's far too easy to focus entirely on your list of things to do instead of what you're supposed to be doing. Don't get me wrong, when you are inside any project, you may need a list. I can't imagine myself in the kitchen without a recipe to follow. To-do lists have their place. For everything else, there's something better. You should be using a “Did I Do It List.”  As simple as it sounds, instead of chasing and stressing about what you must do, you simply ensure you've done what is needed. Yes, it's a simple mindset change, but it will change everything about how you get things done — and you'll have far less stress. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
