The Chiefs season is over for all intents and purposes and it's time to get real. You have an aging quarterback that has slowed down and now has an ACL surgery. High priced older players that don't play to the level expected and a team that is poorly coached. Ya, that's pretty much everyone. The only thing to say is there is no continuing with the same plan to keep the band together. If the Chiefs want to chase more Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes they need a completely different blueprint for Part II. A pastor at Journey church in Lee's Summit jokes about these sloppy Chiefs in his sermon to inspire the congregation. The Royals trade for a left fielder, KU's Darren Peterson gets hurt again. Trump's coin toss at Army-Navy was an incredible scene. Taylor Swift hands out massive cash bonuses to her crew. Then, a new documentary by KMBC Channel 9 took 19 months for Donna Pittman and her team to produce. It features Kansas City area women that served in Vietnam and it airs Tuesday night at 7:00. It sounds incredible. Our Final Final is a cold sack of burgers.
Informed Dissent with Dr. Jeff Barke and Dr. Mark McDonald – Christmas is often portrayed as joyful, but for many it brings grief, loneliness, and emotional strain. This piece explores why the holidays can hurt and offers practical, compassionate ways to care for mental health, set boundaries, reduce isolation, and find meaning, connection, and hope during a difficult December season...
This week, we will be studying Genesis 50:12-21 under the theme “How to Forgive Significant Hurt.” When Joseph's brothers fear payback, they discover that God's grace is far bigger than their guilt. Joseph refused to play God — and instead explained the strange, stunning way God turns harm into healing. Genuine forgiveness frees both the offended and the offender.Series Summary: Our fall worship series will lead us through the Book of Genesis, arguably the most profound, insightful text in human history. Over this series, we'll uncover how the narratives of Genesis reveal God's design for creation, humanity, relationships, and purpose. We'll explore truths that continue to shape our lives today, from the Garden of Eden to the promise of redemption.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? In this episode of Barely Famous, I'm sitting down with my sister Mikaila for the very first time on the podcast, and it's the raw, complicated sister story that so many of you have asked for but also the one I wasn't sure I was ready to tell. We talk about how she found out I even existed, the Facebook friend requests her mom made her delete, and how the adults in our lives couldn't get their shit together enough for us to grow up as sisters. We revisit our very different experiences with our dad, what it meant to love someone who couldn't love themselves well, and how his death and our own estrangement mirrored the same toxic patterns we swore we'd escape. We also open up about why our last name was never really ours, the identity crisis we picked up along the way and the lifelong ache of trying to find somewhere and someone to belong to. Through all of it, there's the instinctual love I felt the moment I truly met my niece and a promise to do better for our kids than anyone ever did for us. If you grew up in a complicated family, have “missing” relatives, or are trying to break cycles for the next generation, this one is for you. In this heartfelt in‑person conversation from Florida, Tina Paulus‑Krause and her daughter Courtney explore what happens after a transformational retreat or "reset." They share the real integration work required once you return to everyday life—how to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. Through their own mother–daughter healing journey, Tina and Courtney unpack key themes like accountability, nervous system regulation, spiritual growth, and the courage it takes to stop trying to "fix" everyone else and start doing your own inner work. They define what it truly means to hold space, why receiving is so hard (especially for leaders, moms, and high achievers), and how retreats, membership support, and spiritual development can create lasting change in relationships and life. If you've ever left a retreat, program, or conference wondering "Now what?", this episode will give you language, perspective, and hope for the next phase of your journey. Timestamps / Chapters [00:00] Welcome & setup In-person podcast in Florida, preparing for end-of-year retreats; today's focus: what happens after the reset. [01:36] The aftermath & integration Courtney on going back home, relationships, and work with new tools—and why integration is ongoing, not instant. [04:27] Real mother–daughter work Tina shares how their relationship was rebuilt through dark nights of the soul, communication, and imperfect attempts to integrate new tools. [07:05] Accountability & not feeling alone Feeling seen and heard at retreat, the "honeymoon phase," and why accountability and community matter when life happens. [10:27] Processes to clean, clear, and come back to self Modern distractions, getting stuck, and why we need repeatable practices to return to ourselves. [11:09] What "holding space" really means Courtney defines holding space emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—without fixing, judging, or gossiping. [13:04] From fixing to listening & self-space Tina's shift from fixer to space-holder; listening to understand; holding space for yourself and creating the retreat center. [15:04] Learning to receive Why receiving feels so uncomfortable, how ego resists it, and how it transformed their relationship. [18:12] Energy exchange & love languages Balancing giving and receiving, honoring different love languages, and finding shared activities that create true connection. [20:15] Generational patterns & mother–child retreats Why change often starts with the mom, generational healing, and inviting mothers and children into new ways of relating. [22:17] Doing the work & why the Reset Retreat exists Daily relationship work, visioning individually and together, and stepping out of "fixing everyone but me." [23:22] Choice, suffering & turning the mirror Suffering as a choice, pausing, introspection, and having hard conversations as the way through. [24:53] From darkness to development Victimhood vs. self-development, family resistance, mirror work, and how their inner work became a life mission. [26:29] Nervous system regulation & why Tina does this work Hurt people vs. transformed people, tools Tina wishes she had when her kids were young, and learning to manage the nervous system. [28:13] Why Courtney does this work Worthiness, consciousness, and supporting people to step through the "gates" into higher awareness and responsibility. [32:03] Lone wolves & being truly held Coaching, being fully honest, not having to do it alone, and creating a structure that can hold even deep trauma. [39:28] Crystal Clear Missions & the membership Courtney explains their organization, weekly check-ins/check-outs, consciousness classes, and channeled spiritual support. [44:53] Different ways to step in From guides to membership to 3-day immersives—meeting people where they are on the journey. [45:30] Going public & calling people in Stepping more into the public eye, co-creation, and an open invitation to those who feel called. [46:29] Closing reflections Tina's love for sharing Courtney with the world and a warm invitation to join them on this path. People put much more on themselves than they can handle and then they blame it on everyone else! They go through life carrying their own unresolved inner issues and top of their own they have to deal with the unresolved issues that others bring into your life. People try to bear the issues of others when they can't even handle their own, that's where breakdown comes in because most people go through life being led blindly by their unhealed hearts and minds; making their own lives worst. They never learn from their experiences. Therefore life is much harder for them because they continue to repeat the same cycles, and allowing those worse off than then to affect their lives. Your mindset is your biggest problem and your worst enemy!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/relationships-and-relatable-life-chronicles--4126439/support.
Bryan Kohberger is reportedly telling prison staff he'll “harm himself” if they don't move him out of J-Block — and the wording of that threat is raising eyebrows. Not “end his life.” Not “I'm in crisis.” The phrase is specific, conditional, and attached to a demand. And in corrections psychology, that distinction matters. Today on Hidden Killers, psychotherapist Shavaun Scott joins us to break down what this behavior actually signals. Is Kohberger genuinely overwhelmed inside Idaho's most restrictive housing unit? Or is this a strategic form of pressure meant to regain a sense of control he no longer has? From Day 2, Kohberger began testing the system — complaining about food, noise, harassment, and ultimately escalating to self-harm threats when lower-level grievances didn't get traction. Shavaun explains what this escalation pattern typically indicates: a person accustomed to getting results through pressure, resistance, or emotional leverage. But even with concerns about manipulation, prison staff are doing exactly what protocol requires — removing ligature risks, tightening supervision, documenting behavior. Shavaun walks us through why institutions must treat every threat seriously, even when the individual making it has a history of calculated behavior. We also explore the psychological payoff of using self-harm threats as leverage. Even if he doesn't get transferred, Kohberger may still gain exactly what he wants: attention, disruption, and power over the environment. For someone who built an identity around control, that's currency. This conversation offers a rare look into the psychological realities behind bars — and why a threat doesn't always mean what it appears to mean on the surface. #BryanKohberger #HiddenKillers #PrisonPsychology #ShavaunScott #TrueCrimePodcast #TonyBrueski #JBlock #PrisonBehavior #CriminalMindset #ControlTactics Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? On today's Healing 101, I'm sitting down with psychiatrist and author Alastair Santhouse, and we're diving into a surprisingly tricky question: what do we actually mean when we talk about “normal” mental health? It's one of those phrases we all use, but when you look a little closer, it gets messy fast.Alastair and I chat about why “normal” can feel so loaded, how it shapes the way we think about ourselves, and why it matters when deciding whether someone genuinely needs help or is simply having a very human reaction to life. We also touch on diagnoses, the rise in labels, and how to make sense of your mental health without falling into the trap of self-pathologising. It's a short, honest conversation that hopefully leaves you feeling a bit clearer - and a bit kinder toward yourself.Stay Connected with Hurt to Healing:Instagram: instagram.com/hurttohealingpodTikTok: tiktok.com/@hurttohealingpodLinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hurt-to-healingSubstack: substack.com/@hurttohealingWebsite: hurttohealing.co.uk Hosted on Acast. The holidays can stir up more than joy—they can activate old wounds, grief, and loneliness we don't always talk about. In this episode, Laura gently explores why this season can feel heavy, how family systems and sensory memories pull us back into old roles, and why grief shows up in so many forms. With grounding tools and compassionate guidance, she invites you to move through the holidays with more honesty, choice, and kindness toward yourself. This episode is a soft place to land if the season feels tender.

Send us a textIn this episode of Taco Bout Fertility Tuesday, Dr. Mark Amols breaks down one of the most overlooked problems in modern fertility care: the hidden harm of overcalling mosaic embryos. We begin with a surprising math puzzle from a 2023 study by Dr. Jonah Bardos in Fertility & Sterility, where the lab reporting the highest euploid rate also had the highest live birth rate—a result that shouldn't happen if “more abnormal embryos were slipping through.” Instead, the math points to something deeper.Dr. Amols explains what mosaicism really is, why true biological mosaicism is rare, and how PGT-A testing can create artificial mosaics from noise, amplification variability, and overly sensitive algorithms. When labs generate inflated mosaic rates—sometimes 10–20%—they push potentially strong embryos out of the euploid category and unintentionally create selection bias.Through clear examples and memorable analogies, you'll learn how calling too many mosaics doesn't protect patients—it can actually lower pregnancy rates by changing which embryos get transferred first. You'll also hear why high-level mosaics can be clinically useful, while overcalling low-level mosaics can distort decision-making and delay success. If you've ever felt overwhelmed or confused by mosaic results on a PGT report, this episode will help you understand what's signal, what's noise, and why more information isn't always better in fertility care.Stay tuned at the end for ways to support the podcast and for a preview of an upcoming episode on high-level mosaics. Thanks for tuning in to another episode of 'Taco Bout Fertility Tuesday' with Dr. Mark Amols. Because after years of coaching clients, reading their intro posts, cheering their wins and gently calling out their nonsense, I've realized there are a few things I would absolutely tell you if I wasn't worried about hurting your feelings. So today I'm naming the patterns that show up again and again. The attitude that lets me know within the first five minutes whether someone is going to crush their goals. The beliefs that quietly sabotage you before you even begin. The overwhelm that comes from consuming way too much wellness content. And the sneaky habit of outsourcing your power to programs, gadgets and accountability buddies instead of owning your results like the badass you actually are. This episode is tough love wrapped in a cozy blanket. You are not broken. You are not behind. You just need to stop giving your power to anything outside of yourself. And yes, I say that with love and possibly a tiny bitch slap. What's Inside:The five-minute success test I can't unsee and what your intro post secretly tells me about your future resultsHow program hopping keeps you stuck in the valley of despair instead of moving forwardWhy the emotional cycle of change makes you think you need a reset when you really need persistenceThe truth about accountability and why the person who leads always gets the biggest transformationSo here is my question for you. What is winning really about for you? Is it obsessing over the perfect plan or finally trusting yourself to follow through? Is it searching for the shiny new program or getting so rooted in your habits that your life starts to quietly transform from the inside out? That could be you. Truly. If something in this episode poked at a sore spot, good. That's your clue. I want to hear which part hit home. Come tell me on Instagram. I love knowing what lands for you and what you are ready to change.Mentioned in This Episode:Episode 18: Goal: Have More Lovers (Even If You Are Already Married) with Tara Lynne Franco and André TurcotteEpisode 60: “The Secret” To Coaching Ya Damn SelfEpisode 9: Goal: Break Through To The Next Stage of Your Fitness JourneyOonagh Duncan on InstagramFit Feels GoodLeave me a voice note on Speak Pipe!
In this episode of the Bare Knuckle Recovery Podcast, Zach Dawson and Bob Springer kick Nate and Tommy out of the studio to take over the mics to speak directly to the two groups of people who reach out to them the most: moms and significant others.Zach and Bob dive deep into the wreckage caused by active addiction, sharing vulnerable stories about the manipulation, lies, and fear they inflicted on the women who loved them most. They discuss the long, difficult road to rebuilding trust, emphasizing that sobriety is just the beginning... true recovery requires a complete change in behavior and integrity.Later in the episode, the conversation shifts to the realities of working in the recovery field. The hosts open up about the toll the job takes on their families, the necessity of accountability among teammates, and how they navigate the fine line between helping others and being present for their own homes. In this episode, we cover:The addict vs. the partner: How relationships survive the chaos and the transition into a healthy, sober dynamic.Rebuilding trust: Why "just trusting" an addict doesn't work and why it takes years of consistent action to repair the damage. The mother-son bond: Bob shares a touching story about taking his mother to breakfast with his own money and the redemption of being present for her when she passed away. The "monster" of addiction: Understanding how drugs change a person's personality and why they lash out at the people they love most.Accountability on the front lines: A raw look at how the BKR team supports each other, including a story about finding a stash of drugs on a job and relying on teammates to do the right thing.Whether you are a mother, father, a spouse, or someone in recovery trying to make amends, this episode offers a message of hope: don't give up, because people can and do change.Watch this episode and all past episodes here: https://www.bareknucklerecovery.com/
In today's episode, I'm joined by Professor Marc Brackett, founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and author of the newly published Dealing With Feeling, to untangle one of the big questions: what actually are emotions - and how are they different from feelings, moods, or just “being in a state”? We talk about why there's no such thing as a “bad” emotion, how emotions act as data rather than problems to get rid of, and why so many of us - especially in places like the UK - were raised to “keep calm and carry on” instead of learning how to work with what we feel.Marc walks us through his simple RULER framework, why labelling your emotions properly can completely change how you cope, and the practical tools we can all use to regulate our moods without repressing or overindulging them. If you've ever wondered whether you're “too emotional,” “not emotional enough,” or just confused about what's going on inside, this conversation will give you language, clarity and a far kinder way of understanding yourself.Find Professor Marc Brackett:Website: https://marcbrackett.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/marc.brackett/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@marcbrackettBuy his book, Dealing with Feeling: https://marcbrackett.com/dealing-with-feeling/Stay Connected with Hurt to Healing:Instagram: instagram.com/hurttohealingpodTikTok: tiktok.com/@hurttohealingpodLinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hurt-to-healingSubstack: substack.com/@hurttohealingWebsite: hurttohealing.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Christopher Ragan, economics professor at McGill's Max Bell School of Public Policy, examines how well the Alberta-Ottawa memorandum of understanding balances pipeline development with environmental protection. He analyzes whether the deal—featuring carbon capture investment, enhanced industrial carbon pricing, and a new pipeline to Asian markets—will help or hinder Canada's emission targets. Will Compton and Taylor Lewan recap a wild Week 14 of the NFL with NFL legend and FOX analyst Greg Olsen. The Boys dive into everything happening around the league, starting with the Kansas City Chiefs losing again and why they will miss the playoffs. They break down Travis Kelce’s costly drop that led to Patrick Mahomes’ three interceptions and talk about why the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen might not be built for the regular season… but are built for the postseason. Greg Olsen joins the debate on analytics vs. momentum, and the crew recaps the biggest stories and games from Week 14 across the NFL. Then The Boys shift to the College Football Playoff, reacting to the final bracket and the chaos surrounding it: Notre Dame getting in over Miami, Alabama not dropping after losing to Georgia. Will and Taylor recap calling the SEC Championship for ESPN’s Alt Cast with Josh Pate and Harry Douglas. They also talk about how to fix the CFP — including removing G5 teams and ensuring the 12 best teams always make the field They wrap up with a discussion on Fernando Mendoza vs. Diego Pavia and who should take home the Heisman Trophy. Tracy missed her first holiday as owner of the Quartermaine mansion but still sent pizzas, while Leo returned—now a vegetarian!—and the Qs donated their Thanksgiving feast to the hospital. And in true Quartermaine fashion, pizza reigned once again… though it felt like a missed opportunity for Monica to introduce the family to a new place. We propose they call it Stuart's. Meanwhile, Laura, Liz, and Ace volunteered at the soup kitchen, and Kevin returned just as Laura filled him in on everything involving Dalton and Sonny. Laura's dreams turned ominous with visits from Cyrus and Esme, and Sidwell dropped unsettling photos of Laura finding Dalton in her trunk—plus a shot of her with Sonny.Across town at The Brown Dog, Britt got drunk and kissed Cody, with Molly catching the moment and Jason later calling Britt out for drawing attention to herself. Ava pushed Nina and Portia to make peace, while Willow and Drew moved forward with their wedding. Before the ceremony, Willow told Nina she didn't need to love Drew—just stay with him long enough to get her kids back. Trina faced a wave of emotional shocks: learning Portia is pregnant, witnessing Jordan and Curtis kiss, and seeing Curtis arrested for Drew's shooting. Curtis fought through flashbacks of asking Ms. Wu to have Drew killed. And in the background, Jacinda and Michael continued moving their relationship toward something more official.Listen at GeneralHospitalPodcast.comThis podcast is not endorsed by, directly affiliated with, maintained, authorized, or sponsored by ABC Television Network, Prospect Studios, or any official General Hospital organizations. Life doesn't always make sense in the moment — but God is always at work behind the scenes. In this series, we'll walk through one of the most powerful narratives in Scripture, tracing Joseph's journey from favored son to forgotten prisoner to faithful leader. Along the way, we'll discover that even when life feels unfair or uncertain, God's hand is steady and his purposes are good. What others mean for evil, God can redeem for good — if we'll trust him with the bigger picture.
Brian From sits down with longtime Focus on the Family counselor Rob Jackson to talk about why the Christmas season can intensify grief, loneliness, and emotional struggle for so many. Jackson offers practical wisdom on healthy coping, supporting loved ones, and dismantling unhelpful Christian stigmas around sadness, counseling, and mental health. Their conversation provides compassionate guidance—and a reminder that no one has to walk through a painful holiday season alone.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
