The conservative “right” is predominantly pro-gun—in favor of protecting the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution in its broadest sense. How can a religion of love, peace, and turning the other cheek advocate so strongly for the commercialization of instruments of war? There are many misconceptions about Christianity’s relationship to warfare created by history and poor interpretations. The American Heresy hosts wrap up the second part of their gun control conversation by looking at applicable biblical verses and offer up some suggestions of their own.

An issue as complex as Gun Control in America just cannot fit into a 30 minute discussion. So we split it into 2! In this first episode, we lay the groundwork for a discussion, reciting the facts about gun violence, why guns are included in our Constitution and what some societal implications are from increased gun violence.Next week we will release the second half of the discussion focusing on Christianity’s position and what some appropriate solutions might be.
