James will be one of several artists participating in the 2021 show, One Night Stand at the Ole Miss Motel, taking place October 16, 2021. Contact email@example.com for more information. ------- (from theresidencyproject.org) "No one medium or concept defines James “Capt.” Stovall's artistic practice. He flows seamlessly from larger-than-life murals to intimate doodles and off-the-cuff musings, to text-based works with cadences that beg to be read aloud. Regardless of the form his work takes, there seems to be a constant tension between the figurative and the abstract, the flat and the unfolding, the whimsical and the grotesque, the primal and the evolved (...or evolving), the child and the man. As one half of LZY GENiUS (an artist collaboration with his brother), Capt. James hails from Henderson, Nevada but describes himself as a "Pasadena kid," graduating from Pasadena High School in 2004. He is a close friend and collaborator of artist Frances Berry, and his work can be viewed at https://www.instagram.com/capt4sale/.

Welcome back if you're a return listener to this soundcast. If this is your first time in, welcome as well to Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast, where we offer you a weekly tasting platter of comedy soundcasts from around the internet for your ears. Bite-sized little clips that will, hopefully, tempt you to seek out the shows we're featuring in their entirety. I'm your host for Episode 274, Marc Hershon, but to keep up the frenetic pace of putting out a weekly show, I split the hosting duties by switching off weeks with Mr. Tyson Saner. And if you didn't catch last week's entry, Epi273, in which Tyson featured clips from Amazing Pop Culture Podcast, Life is Short with Justin Long, and WTF with Marc Maron. Don't despair, as you can still catch the episode on Apple and Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Audible, iHeart Radio, Soundcloud, and wherever fine soundcasts are streamed and/or downloaded. You can also grab it from our homesite, SuccotashShow.com, where we have stockpiled our past 10+ years of comedy soundcast clippery and also interviews we have done over the past decade. Just a quick reminder that Tyson and I are currently (and always have been) clipping and presenting this array of soundcast snacks out of the goodness of our hearts. We so far have failed to lure any sponsors to this show, other than our freeloading fake advertiser Henderson's Pants, and it actually costs money to put this sucker out every week. We're not complaining – we love doing this – but what would be so super nice of you would be if you could show your appreciation for our efforts by rating and reviewing Succotash Show wherever you happen to be getting it from. A quick five stars, a couple of lines about how enchanting the show is – you're in, you're out, no one gets hurt. Thanks in advance – we really do appreciate your listenership and we hate to beg, but hey… I've got a full rack of clips to share with you this week, from comedy soundcasts For What It's Worth, Storytime with Seth Rogen, How to Survive! with Danielle & Kristine, and Movies to Be Buried With with Brett Goldstein. In addition, this episode is brought to you by Henderson's Pants new Beavertail Pants! CLIPS What Are You Watching?I'm going to kick things off with a special bonus clip! What makes it special? Well, I'm in it. That's right. It's me being featured as a guest on another soundcast. Hosted by past Succotash guest and friend of the show Chris Mancini, What Are You Watching? is Chris and a guest talking about what they're watching, mostly on TV but sometimes movies, too. So we've had Chris on, we've featured his soundcast, so all it took was a little begging and pleading to be invited to be the guest for his recent Episode 50. It was a nice change of pace to be the interviewee, and we had a great time talking about a bunch of shows. The clip is from our discussion of the Hulu/FX streaming show Y: The Last Man. Movies to be Buried With with Brett GoldsteinIf you're a fan of Ted Lasso, the big breakout hit on Apple TV last year starring Jason Sudekis – as I am, regardless of the pounding it's been taking from people this season – then you probably also love the character of Roy Kent. Portrayed by Brett Goldstein, Roy's a foul-mouthed contentious veteran footballer who becomes a foul-mouthed, slightly less contentious coach in Season 2. Brett started out as a staff writer on the show who lobbied Sudekis and the producers to let him play Roy and wouldn't you know? The guy's perfect. What I didn't know of, I'm ashamed to say, is that Brett is also a comedian and, what's more, has been hosting more than 160 of episodes of his own comedy soundcast called Movies To Be Buried With, with Brett Goldstein. He brings in a guest, explains that they've been killed in some manner, but the good news is that they go onto an afterlife where they get to explain their life through their favorite movies. Episode 121 featured guest Patton Oswalt and, as you can imagine, hilarity ensued. We have an ear peek for you… How To Survive! with Danielle & KristineNext up is a clip from the debut episode of a brand new comedy soundcast: How To Survive! with Danielle & Kristine. Every episode features hosts Danielle Koenig & Kristine Kimmel doing their best to help you figure out how to “survive the things that could kill you and the stuff that just makes you wish you were dead.” In their kickoff installment, it's how to both survive a wildfire and also, with the help of their comedic actress friend and guest, Alex Alexander, how to survive being fired. Our clip is from the first part, and jumps into what you should do if you're at home and can see a fire coming… Storytime with Seth RogenWe've clipped another soundcast that just kicked off in recent weeks: Storytime with Seth Rogen. Seth has a very funny and creative mind, and this is a pretty inventive show, with guests popping in an out as he unfolds someone's story that intersects with other people and becomes their story along the way. In his first episode, the story belongs to Quinta Brunson, a writer, producer, comedian, and actress. You may know her from her self-produced Instagram series Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date. But before she got into showbiz, she was a Jehovah's Witness, living a pretty buttoned up lifestyle. Until she was on a date in Phildelphia and happened to meet Paul Rudd, yes, that Paul Rudd, at the movie theater she was in. The impact of that encounter changed the course of her life. Our clip is from Seth's chat with Paul Rudd, who doesn't recall his encounter with Quinta, but does explain why he's so damn nice to people. For What It's WorthMurray Valeriano is a comedian and longtime soundcaster – you maybe heard his show Road Stories, where he chatted with fellow comics about mostly hell gigs – and we've met repeatedly during the five-year-run of the Los Angeles Podcast Festival. He has a new-ish soundcast up and running, which I reviewed last week for This Week in Comedy Podcasts for Vulture.com called For What It's Worth and, as Murray calls it, “the only music and comedy game show … that matters!” It's a fast-paced game show with a lot of opportunities for the comedian contestant to bust each other's (and Muraay's) chops while trying desperately to correctly answer music trivia questions. This clip is from a recent episode featuring Jimmy Pardo, Gary Brightwell, and Geoff Tate, and the opening round, called “The Rock Wall”. That's what you're going to hear, and a few other little odds and ends, on Succotash Epi274. Here's hoping you enjoy our clip harvest for this week, and that you are inspired to go listen to one or all of the shows we're featuring this week. If you're having trouble remembering the show titles or where you can find them, I invite you to slide over to our blog page for this episode at our homesite, SuccotashShow.com, where you'll find lovely little clickable titles for the show AND clickable Twitter or Instagram links for the folks involved in the soundcasts. Tyson Saner will be right in this same feed next week with Episode 275 which will likely have a new crop o' clips for you. In the meantime, try to treat everyone you meet decently, wear a mask if you're supposed to, vax if you haven't, and if anyone asks if you've heard anything good lately, won't you please pass the Succotash? — Marc Hershon

We were “dee-lighted” when Dee at Store 932 in Griffin, Georgia, won Who Sang It! Antonio also shouted out Lutrece and Jaycie at Club 6245 in Harker Heights, Texas, for their legendary member service. Today's episode is giving you an actual example of how social determinants of health can impact someone's care. For me, we have to have a more broad conversation about care. It's not solely on race. If we could focus more on how similar we are despite our experiences and differences. Yes, health disparities exist. Yes, minority populations are usually impacted by these structural issues. However, WE have all struggled with access to care. WE come from different backgrounds and have had poor experiences in getting to appointments. WE have all struggled with watching loved ones get sick because they can't afford their medications. The question is how do WE work TOGETHER to help each other MORE? Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner. I am your host for the duration of this episode of Succotash numbering 273. Last week in Epi272, my co-host and every-other-show-host Marc Hershon brought the listener, which may or may not have included you, a Chats episode where he sat down to talk with John Ross Bowie (The Big Bang Theory, Speechless) of the Household Faces soundcast and, as Marc put it "literally dozens and dozens of things". It's a fun interview and I urge you to check it out soon. This week it's a clip show for you, so I've got a trio of clips for you from the soundcasts Amazing Pop Culture Podcast, Life is Short with Justin Long, and WTF with Marc Maron. I've also got an advert from longtime non-paying sponsor Henderson's Pants and their new Leaf Behind Pants, just in time for Fall, to round out the episode nicely. CLIPS Amazing Pop Culture Podcast This soundcast provides expert commentary on comedy, music, movies, TV, news, history and everything in between. Hosts Dags and Assistant Manager Mike Resin enjoy their childish comedy and light-hearted fun! Our clip is from August of this year, the episode entitled: "Masters of the Universe: the Kevin Smith Cut". The boys dip into the 2021 Netflix animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, developed by Kevin Smith. Life is Short with Justin Long Every episode features host Justin Long cracking open the heads of his guests to get to the good stuff: how they find meaning in life, what their favorite snack food is, which emoji they use most, etc. Our clip goes back a couple of years to pre-pandemic November, 2019, and guest Kevin Smith. They swap stories from Tusk, Zack and Miri Make A Porno, and all the other projects they've worked on together. And Kevin talks about how his Catholic upbringing was a gateway to his worship of superheroes. WTF with Marc Maron Back in March of this year, comedian/actor//writer Marc Maron welcomed Eddie Murphy in to talk about his standup days, Richard Pryor, his movie career, fatherhood and why now was the right time to make Coming 2 America. We clip off a little bitty piece of that convo. That, then, concludes the first episode of October. I do hope you find some entertainment in what I've brought to you, and I hope it also perhaps gives you one or two ideas as to what you might choose to listen to next. If we piqued your interest in the slightest then we can safely put that one in the "win" column as it were. Another thing before I go: There will be another episode of my other regular soundcast, Anti Social Show, coming out very soon…perhaps it might even have been released before you hear me mention it in this episode of Succotash. If it has been released by the time you hear Epi275 I will be sure to let you know. You can also look for it and other episodes of Anti Social Show on my Soundcloud which can be found linked alongside many other links for the various things I am currently or have been involved in over the years at tysonsaner.com including original music and soundcast remixes along with links to my YouTube channel where I offer LOADS of gaming content, mostly console, many retro, more Minecraft coming. (I suppose that's more like "a few other things" rather than "another thing" as previously stated and for that, I apologize.) Thank you for listening. Be decent to each other. Please think of others when it comes to public health matters, and if anyone asks if you heard anything interesting recently won't you please…Pass The Succotash? — Tyson Saner

For the first time in series history, the matchup of Ohio State and Rutgers should be both competitive and interesting. Can Greg Schiano's team pull off the big upset? Buckeye Scoop's Tony Gerdeman joins host Tom Orr to discuss that and more.- Is CJ Stroud's shoulder improved enough to allow the Buckeyes to throw the ball downfield?- Will the Scarlet Knights sell out to stop the OSU rushing attack? And if they do, will TreVeyon Henderson be able to break any long runs?- Can the Rutgers offense move the chains enough to keep the Buckeye offense off the field?
Rickey Henderson was left fielder who played for nine teams from 1979 to 2003, including four separate tenures with his original team, the Oakland Athletics. Nicknamed the "Man of Steal", he is widely regarded as baseball's greatest leadoff hitter and baserunner. He holds the major league records for career stolen bases, runs, unintentional walks and leadoff home runs. At the time of his last major league game in 2003, the ten-time American League (AL) All-Star ranked among the sport's top 100 all-time home run hitters and was its all-time leader in walks. In 2009, he was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot appearance.Henderson holds the single-season record for stolen bases (130 in 1982) and is the only player in AL history to steal 100 bases in a season, having done so three times. His 1,406 career steals is 50% higher than the previous record of 938 by Lou Brock. Henderson is the all-time stolen base leader for the Oakland Athletics and previously held the New York Yankees' franchise record from 1988 to 2011. He was among the league's top ten base stealers in 21 different seasons.Henderson was named the AL's Most Valuable Player in 1990, and he was the lead-off hitter for two World Series champions: the 1989 Oakland A's and the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays. A 12-time stolen base champion, Henderson led the league in runs five times. His 25-year career elevated Henderson to the top ten in several other categories, including career at-bats, games, and outfield putouts and total chances. His high on-base percentage, power hitting, and stolen base and run totals made him one of the most dynamic players of his era. He was further known for his unquenchable passion for playing baseball and a buoyant, eccentric, and quotable personality that both perplexed and entertained fans. Once asked if he thought Henderson was a future Hall of Famer, statistician Bill James replied, "If you could split him in two, you'd have two Hall of Famers."

Ohio State freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson is already one of the best young talents in college football just four games into his Buckeye career. But this week, Henderson showed why he might be just as impressive off the field as he is on it. You'll hear directly from Henderson, as well as Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, and wide receiver Garrett Wilson about the Buckeyes' upcoming game against Rutgers, and why Wilson was disappointed with a recent win. Plus, Day shares his thoughts on when to go for it on fourth down, what goes into that decision, and when punting might be more aggressive than kicking a field goal.

Hello, kind listener. This IS your every-other-weekly host Marc Hershon here, guiding you through Episode 272 of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. Before I tell you the treat I have in store for you today, if you missed last week's Epi271, entitled “Birth, Life, and Death”, with my erstwhile co-host Tyson Saner, it's not too late to catch it! He featured clips from Dad Pants, Shenk and The Endless Honeymoon Podcast. And it's available from Apple and Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, YouTube, Audible.com, PodCay, iHeart Radio and, of course, you can find it and every epiode of this unstoppable machine up at our website, http://SuccotashShow.com! Instead of clips for you this week, I sat down on one side of a lively Zoom chat with John Ross Bowie, host of the Household Faces soundcast that I can't seem to get enough of, where he interviews super-familiar journeyman actors who you definitely recognize from their faces in films and TV, if not their names. John is one of those faces himself whom you'd likely know from The Big Bang Theory, Speechless, and literally dozens and dozens of other things. We'll get into his credits, his soundcast, his origin story and a whole lot more coming up in our convo. I recently had another chat but as the guest this time on an upcoming episode of What Are You Watching? with Chris Mancini, best known, perhaps, as the co-host of the Comedy Film Nerds soundcast but who know also hosts The Quiet Journeys of Professor Atwood and Conversations from the Abyss. We talked about various TV shows and movies we've been catching up on, and that episode will be dropping soon – I'll be sure to mention it in our socials so do follow us @SuccotashShow on both Instagram and Twitter. This installment of Succotash is brought to you by Henderson's Pants new HalloPants, just in time for Halloween at the end of next month! Thanks to John for spending some time with me. He tells you where you can find his Household Faces soundcast and his Instagram in there, but feel free to use the handy links I'm sprinkling around in this paragraph you're reading now. If you want in on the blurb-a-thon that is our Tweetsack, where we mention the folks who have mentioned US in their socials, just drop @SuccotashShow into YOUR social media streams at some point in the next couple of weeks and we'll probably find you. That's pretty much what there is for Epi272. If you want ever want to talk about YOUR soundcast, pick up the phone and call the Succotash and Runaway Truck Ramp Status Hotline at 1 (818) 921-7212. And coming up next week in this very same feed is Tyson and Epi273 with a paslle of comedy soundcast clips just for your ears. Until you hear me in a couple of weeks for Episode 274, please treat each other like decent human beings, wash your hands, mask up, vax up, and if anyone asks you if you have been listening to any good soundcasts lately, won't you please pass the Succotash? — Marc Hershon
The Green River Game Lands contains just over 18,000 acres of wilderness and lies along the Blue Ridge Escarpment in Henderson and Polk counties. It is home to the Green River which cuts a rugged chasm as it descends the Blue Ridge escarpment providing numerous whitewater sports opportunities like kayaking, canoeing, tubing, and fishing in wild trout waters. At its most impressive point, the Green River drops 400 feet in just over 1.5 miles running through a crevice known as the Narrows, which is full-on Class V savage whitewater. In this episode I sit down with John Grace, Executive Director of the Green Race. We talk about the race's 26-year history, the hugely talented racers, the race's influence on boat design, emerging young paddlers, and the challenges of putting on an extreme event in a relatively remote and rugged wilderness area. We also talk about the Green River Games which is a collection of running, mountain biking and paddling events in the Game Lands that takes place each year in May. And, John shares how he earned the honor of being named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. We also plug John's Hammer Factor podcast where He, Louis Geltman and John Weld offer listeners an insider's look into the athletes, expeditions, controversies and gear in the sport of whitewater paddling.LINKSThe Green RaceHammer Factor PodcastOutdoor Alliance, Louis GeltmanImmersion Research, John WeldGreen River AdventuresThe Gorge ZiplineH2O DreamsThermal Belt OutreachPisgah Map CompanySaluda Mountain Land TrustGreen River KeeperDaggerLiquid LogicPolk CountyHenderson CountyMike Andress, HostExploration Local PodcastEmail: firstname.lastname@example.orgWebsite: https://explorationlocal.com/Instagram: explorationlocalFacebook: https://m.facebook.com/explorationlocal/

Unfortunately, much of the questions being asked last season are still being asked this week. There's also discussion of Mason Greenwood's performances this week as well as Diogo Dalot's, that of the two goalkeepers, Messrs. Henderson and De Gea, and Jadon Sancho. Plus plenty more - it really is a jampacked episode! We hope you enjoy the show! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
A bizarre Ohio State football season just got stranger on Saturday night inside the Horseshoe. For the first time in school history, the Buckeyes started four true freshmen: Kyle McCord, TreVeyon Henderson, JT Tuimoloau, and Denzel Burke. And a number of other true freshmen stood out, including Emeka Egbuka, Tyleik Williams, and Jack Sawyer. But the team also had to deal with the fallout of an unusual incident on the sideline involving linebacker K'Vaughan Pope, just days after another linebacker, Dallas Gant, transferred out of the program. So what should you make of this year's Ohio State team in the wake of its 59-7 win over Akron?Buckeye Scoop's Kevin Noon joins host Tom Orr to try to make sense of it all.
