Saskia Laval is a driven artist based in Amsterdam who has a background in classical music and funk/jazz piano. About 8 years ago, Saskia was first introduced to house music, deep house and minimal house, and later on discovered techno. Techno was an instant match, she immediately knew this was her niche. Saskia finished the Electronic Music Producer course at the SAE in Amsterdam, before she’s really got into DJing. Laval’s music is described as dark techno. Her DJ favorites are for example, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Fatima Hajji. Laval is an enthusiastic DJ. The sensation that music gives its listener, and the atmosphere of people enjoying and dancing to it together, is exactly the good vibes Laval wants to create with her DJing. Although Laval’s first gigs started in Eindhoven, she definitively started DJing in 2018 in Rio de Janeiro. She has had several opportunities to play. Performing various times in Nacomuna, it remains one of her favorite places, but of course Laval loved to do the opening sets at Tô na Laje parties in Vidigal too. As soon as Saskia returned to Amsterdam, she played in several European clubs: Germany (Maze, Berlin), Poland (Szpitalna, Krakau), Austria (Recording Room, Vienna; Loco Sound Club, Villach), and in England (Marwood, Brighton). She also played in Amsterdam (i.e. MixShake Festival; Triple R Radio/ AMW.fm).
After the melodic tunes of the last podcasts, it's time for something different. Randy Knobs, one of residents of the East-Collective party's here in Amsterdam brings his personal vision on paying Techno. Randy Knobs is an electronic music enthousiast by heart. Besides the fact that he is one of the hosts of Triple R Tuesday on amw.fm, he also kicked off the annualy Kolosseum Festival in the woods of Almere this year. As a DJ, his signature is high energy techno with a constant drive and a lot of percussion. Recently he started exploring the more laid back side of techno: Deep, melodic and minimalistic with Afro influences. With this broad range of music, Randy Knobs takes you on a journey where you will dance, completely lose yourself in euphoria and finally end up stomping your feet on the ground with a big smile on your face. As a producer, Randy Knobs gets his inspiration from jazz music. He tries to incorporate improvisation and rare one shot sounds in both his music and DJ sets. Kolosseum Festival, Club NL, Panama, De CLUB and diverse boat parties on the canals of Amsterdam are just a few places of where Randy Knobs laid down his deep and driving sounds onto the crowd. A random Friday afternoon drink, on the verge of a flu, so my energy level was low. Until the moment she started to spin, the boundless energy burst from her and spread to the audience, including me! An evening of which I thought I would be home early but where I felt completely fit again in no time. I never saw that flu again .... Ladies and gentlemen, meet Miss Dominguez !!! Growing up going to the first raves in the ‘90s and listening to tapes with Chicago house and Detroit techno resulted in a big love for dance music that’s still present up until today. Always looking for cool tracks, listening for nights in a row and playing music for friends when two years ago the time came to step out of the living room and to take place behind the desks for a bigger audience. Since then she played in several venues and got the dancefloors going with her own sound. Her style can best be described as warm, deep, melodic and always based on a elegant groove. In her well-crafted sets which range from deephouse to melodic techno she loves to create a flow and generate a vibe of energy and unity with the crowd.
This month's podcast is curated by Miri Floores. I met her a few months ago at an event in Amsterdam and I immediately felt connected to her passion for music. Although the first time I heard her playing it was a bit to heavy to my liking, but she assured me her musical horizon was much broader then demonstrated at the particular session. All I can say for this month's podcast, it fit's like a glove! Originally from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Miri moved to Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, where she continues to pursue her creative vision - creating music that combines stunning melodies with infectious grooves and great beats. For some people, arts and creativity are more than just entertainment: they are a way of life that is deeply tied to their personality, connected beautifully to their vision and energy as human beings. With her passion and ability to express herself as a musician, Miri Floores is able to truly reach out to a wide audience with her one-of-a-kind attitude and infectious enthusiasm. Miri (born Miriam) has been in Europe for over 18 years now. Her unique cultural combination of a global citizen with Brazilian heritage allowed her to create music with a truly unique feel. Miri’s productions combine the warmth and loving positivity of her native country, with the impact of the hardest techno music, inspired by the thriving Berlin scene.

The first edition of the "On the 19th of '19" podcast, curated and mixed by Purple Desert Records label boss Impello. Impello was born in 1980 in Capelle a/d IJssel in the Netherlands. He started in 1995 to play some records at a friend's house on two turntables and got addicted to mixing. After not so long period, he bought himself a cd player, a turntable with pitch, a mixer and some hardcore records, so he was able to be more often busy with mixing. In a short period mixing was a part of his live. Soon there were different kinds of music on his path. So in 1997 he bough his first techno record and a new addiction was born. In 2003 he won the first price of the Corrects DJ contest and got in contact with DOTF radio. The first Gig in a club was for real. After that he became resident DJ in the DOTF studio every last friday of the month in the "Bassnation show" which represented the harder styles i.a. Hardtechno. Nowadays deeper techno will be found in his sets. The funky, rolling techno on four decks is just a chapter of the book.About the same time he started to produce music with Reason and Ableon. In 2018 Impello started Purple Desert records, and now in 2019, he is the first DJ to be featured on Bre's "On the 19th of '19" podcast.
