MAEX ist nicht nur DJ, sondern auch Produzent und Betreiber seines eigenen Labels Kokolores Records. Viele Jahre lebte und arbeitete er als DJ auf Bali, wo er seinen Sound kontinuierlich weiterentwickelte und verfeinerte. Die Einflüsse dieser internationalen Clubkultur sind in seinem heutigen Stil deutlich hörbar. Aktuell lebt MAEX in Frankfurt und ist als Manager des Ocean Club am Frankfurter Flughafen tätig, der im Mai seine Eröffnung feiert. Eine spannende neue Aufgabe – aber die Leidenschaft für die Musik steht weiterhin im Mittelpunkt. Musikalisch liefert er in dieser Ausgabe ein energiegeladenes House-Set mit Groove, Atmosphäre und klarer Handschrift. For an industry that promises speed and convenience, booking a charter flight is still painfully slow. That’s clear in coverage of the shooting of a woman in Minneapolis by an ICE agent. Today, Josh points out how a news network did exactly the wrong thing in the wake of the shooting. Also, how all the major media are ignoring a basic fact about groups organizing protests: Several of them actually support state violence of a different kind. Anger also led to disastrous coverage of a battle at CBS' 60 Minutes. A news executive held a story for further reporting, and people throughout the Big Media landscape lost their minds.
