Yukon began his musical journey in the swamps of South Carolina. There he built relationships with people who mentored him and helped him build the strongest possible foundation. After gaining the basic skills of production & DJing, Yukon invested in his career by pursuing an education at Pyramind Inc. in San Francisco, where he graduated from their Electronic Music Producer program. Starting off as a Dubstep/Trap artist, Yukon found his sound more naturally moving toward House and Techno. He's refined this transition into high-energy sets that continue to push his creativity without forgetting his past. Yukon is making a name for himself as a trailblazer, getting his fans moving with musical twists and turns that take the crowd on a journey. He's known for his radiating stage presence, crowd interaction, and an infectious passion for the music he plays. The philosophy behind Matzumi Music Music is so much more than just the sound in your ear..... ... that's what it says again and again when it comes to Matzumi's music, but what's behind it? Vangelis, Loreena McKennitt, Lisa Gerrard - big names of artists that Matzumi is often compared to. How often do you read this in the comments of those listeners and Matzumi fans, but Matzumi insists on independence, on unconditional authenticity - whether in the sound of their music or in their very own and unmistakable singing. In her music, Matzumi tells her very own story, whereby her music mostly manages without words. She has her very own "handwriting". Every sound - no matter how inconspicuous it is - is carefully considered, nothing is left to chance. Each sound has its very specific statement, a specific message that tells its listeners who Matzumi is. Music as a diary of one's own life, one's own experiences, adventures, emotions. Music as a snapshot of moods, thoughts, feelings. Sometimes dramatic, sometimes wistful, sometimes quiet, sometimes stirring. Music affects us directly. With her sounds, Matzumi penetrates deep into the souls of those listeners who get involved and let themselves be carried away by her sound painting. Matzumi Music takes us on a journey to ourselves. https://linktr.ee/Matzumi *********Support our Sponsors***************** Download and use Newsly for free now from www.newsly.me or from the link in the description, and use promo code GH0ST2021 and receive a 1-month free premium subscription. She established her sound signature as a new wave of hard edge driving techno with a seemingly unusual drone attraction, leaning on a dark percussive industrial tribalesque groove that grinds its way through the airiness of experimental soundscapes. Having grown up in Iran in the 1990s, Aida was influenced by the Persian underground scene, as well as the wealth of cultural and musical heritage of her home country. As a former biology student, she left the academy in pursuit of her real passion: Performance and music. Therefore she left the country in search of her teenage dreams, starting off working with a circus in Dubai and from there touring and traveling globally with a number of teams, performers, and infamous circus shows for several years. 2017, after a life changing journey around the globe, she found her base in Austria and turned her years of artistry experience, focusing solely on music. 2018, she started organizing her own events, promoting, djing, and hosting floors at the most respected clubs in Vienna, while at the same time touring and working countless hours in the studio, unfolding her own sound. Episode #55 is a conversation with Téo Montoya of the Indigenous Futures Podcast. Téo was our guest on episode #48 of the podcast. Episode #48 was a series of recordings from his joining Gabe Crawford and I on the Colorado Trail last summer for a couple days during our Plant-a-go walk. After that episode went out, Téo and I chatted about doing another episode together where we get deeper into some of the topics we touched on while talking candidly on the trail. Téo Montoya is a Lipan Apache(Ndé) Writer, Indigenous futurist, Electronic Music Producer, Human Design Analyst, Traditional Ecological Knowledge Student, and Educator. After completing his BA in Food and Medical Anthropology, with a focus on Indigenous diets and health disparities in Native American communities, Teo spent 5 years exploring the worlds of plant medicine, Ancestral Health Coaching, Djing and Producing music, Information Technology, working with a Native-Led Non-profits, and completing his Human Design Training. As a writer and creator he has begun the long process of writing a speculative fiction series and media project imagining future worlds and societies built upon indigenous values, ideals, and cultures. Teo believes imaging the future, specifically a future grounded in indigenous knowledge and technology, will provide us with the solutions to meet the largest challenges to the Earth and our Humanity. Today, Teo lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, writing, producing music, and supporting people on their personal and spiritual health journeys. In this conversation with Téo, we talk about: Téo defines indigenous futurism more in-depth (you can also learn a lot on his new podcast, The Indigenous Futures Podcast, here) the role of indigenous futurism in envisioning a new relationship with land moving forward we get deeper into the concept of transcommunality, what it means, who writes about it, and how we can take cue from the ideas for community building intersections of religion and spirituality in how we see the land and treat one another religion and power the importance of having a relationship to land some talk on #landback and land reparations and how that connects to spirit technology, techné and religious awe and some philosophy of technology in relationship to Indigenous Futurism the importance of myth in creating cosmologies of reciprocity some words on Téo's current art + story multimedia projects some indigenous-afro futures writers and artists of note Links: Téo on Instagram: @humandesignreadings @indigenousfuturespodcast @teo.montoya.nde The Indigenous Futures Podcast Octavia Butler's work Call the podcast and connect with us by leaving a message (while you're there, if your ok with us potentially airing it on the podcast, give us verbal permission): 1-434-233-0097 Support the podcast on Patreon to contribute monthly to our grassroots self-funding of this project For one time donations to support this work: Paypal : paypal.me/petitfawn VENMO: @kelly-moody-6 Cashapp: cash.app/$groundshotsproject Shop the Ground Shots apothecary currently open Our website with an archive of podcast episodes, educational resources, past travelogues and more: http://www.ofsedgeandsalt.com Our Instagram pages: @goldenberries / @groundshotspodcast Join the Ground Shots Podcast Facebook Group to discuss the episodes Subscribe to our newsletter for updates on the Ground Shots Project Theme music: 'Sweat and Splinters' by Mother Marrow Interstitial Music: by Téo Montoya Hosted by: Kelly Moody Produced by: Kelly Moody and Téo Montoya
Ah Cama-Sotz is the industrial-techno/ritual-tribal/dark ambient project by Belgian electronic music producer and DJ, Herman Klapholz. His passion for classical music and his love for dance music has prominently formed his foundation of his present musicality. He began DJing in clubs and local pirate radio stations where he noticed the incessant evolution and metamorphosis of ” dance ” and experimental music. Yet, he didn’t want to remain a passive onlooker and aspired to formulate his individual sound, by mean of acquiring synths and samplers. His objective was to combine his musical passion and esoteric ideology which resulted in an obscure and macabre but rhythmic and atmospherically sound. This project required an appropriate moniker, which could integrate and mirror all those constituents. When wandering in Mexico he uncovered a local mythology and found his alter ego: ” Ah Cama-Sotz “, named after a giant bat which used extremely elongated sharp claws to decapitate his victims. In the mid-eighties he recorded his first tracks, which were given airplay on a controversial Antwerp local radio station, ” radio centraal “, 106.7 FM. While on the air he attracted the attention of an electronic/ritual band called ” Hybryds ” which resulted into a ritual-ambient project/recording for the Antwerp zoo: ” Soundtrack voor het aquarium ” (project by hybryds and vidna obmana). During his career Ah Cama-Sotz has carved a niche for himself as one of the darkest industrial acts around. His music is steeped in a multitude of mythology, occultism and bloody history, which lend a context and significance to the individual works that is noticeably absent from a lot of contemporary industrial / noise music. The past 28 years, from 1993 to current have seen the Ah Cama-Sotz sound progress from cold, minimalist electronics through to dark ambient soundscapes and pounding techno floor-fillers. His highly received masterpiece, Your Darkest Soul (The Way to Heresy) was released on October 3, 2005. His latest album since this interview is called New Skin for Old Tribals, 2020. https://ahcama-sotz.comhttps://ahcama-sotz.bandcamp.com/https://www.discogs.com/label/14750-Bats-Cats

Episode #48 of the Ground Shots Podcast is the last recording Gabe and I conducted on our 2020 Colorado Trail Plant-a-go walk. This episode documents a few conversations Gabe and I had with our friend Téo Montoya who came to hike with us for a brief stint on the west side of the Collegiate Loop section of the trail. Teo and I met at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center in the Spring of 2019 during a multi-week permaculture training. This episode of the podcast isn't a formal interview or formal conversation with Teo, though I would like to do that with Teo in the future. This episode features snippets of the conversation between Teo, Gabe and I during dinner and then again for breakfast. In this episode, we touch on: Teo's thoughts on ‘transcommunality' and moving forward into the future by learning from indigenous wisdom but also not romanticizing it a place for modern technology in new visions of the future re-thinking the ‘anti-sacredness' of the urban and complex technologies some more Russian Olive rants (again I know) and talk more about how our culture uses invasive plants as scapegoats for our mistakes the need for indigenous wisdom in the Green New Deal talks Teo's perspective on white folks or settlers wild harvesting food and medicine and the complexity of this practice problems that arise with the ‘white-hands off' perspective on land tending indigenous peoples are innovative: in the past, present and will be in the future questioning how we define ‘wild' and ‘wildcraft' and within the colonialist concept of private land ownership Teo tells us a little bit about an indigenous futurism media project he's working on and got funding for with a grant in California I know some of the topics we dip into here will be controversial, and I personally am open to multiple sometimes contradictory perspectives at once. It is necessary in a time of such political and social polarization. Some topics require consistent critical conversation and hearing from multiple perspectives, looking at deep time and into the future, and all of the socio-economic-cultural factors at play. I think we need to be able to have different beliefs and try to understand where the other is coming from, even if you know they are totally wrong (or believe they are). Teo offers a unique perspective as an indigenous person that doesn't mean all other indigenous people agree. As humans, culturally, we are just as diverse as the plant life that shift and morph from one mountain, forest or meadow to another. The sensation that music gives its listener, and the atmosphere of people enjoying and dancing to it together, is exactly the good vibes Laval wants to create with her DJing. Although Laval’s first gigs started in Eindhoven, she definitively started DJing in 2018 in Rio de Janeiro. She has had several opportunities to play. Performing various times in Nacomuna, it remains one of her favorite places, but of course Laval loved to do the opening sets at Tô na Laje parties in Vidigal too. As soon as Saskia returned to Amsterdam, she played in several European clubs: Germany (Maze, Berlin), Poland (Szpitalna, Krakau), Austria (Recording Room, Vienna; Loco Sound Club, Villach), and in England (Marwood, Brighton). She also played in Amsterdam (i.e. MixShake Festival; Triple R Radio/ AMW.fm).

About: Tulpa | Dusha projects are two worlds, expressed by Anna Martinova, DJ, music producer and a singer. Anna is originally from the Baltic Sea, born in Dobele, Latvia, currently living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her DJ career started in 2000, playing styles like Dark Psychedelic Trance, Tech Trance, Old School Goa Trance. Circa 2014, Anna started to playing around with Dark Progressive, as this this style was closest to her Tulpa DJ sets. She began to have an interest in DAWs such as Reason, Ableton, and Logic. This interest eventually lead Anna to enroll in the SAE institute. After getting her Electronic Music Producer diploma in 2012, Anna started the MM - Micro Monkey project. The MM project explored her interest in deep, melodic aural journeys, and harmonically transformed into Dusha project. It was here she found her musical voice. Dusha is mainly ambient oriented subliminal audio journeys, which evolved into Anna's interest in modular synthesis. Meeting Erica Synths visionary Girts Ozolins, Anna had the idea to start Modular Moon; a Modular Synthesis School, Teaching others has allowed her continue growing as modular synthesis performer. Through modular exploration Anna found herself evolving toward minimal techno live performances. It was here Tulpa DJ sets became modular live sets. Tulpa live is psychedelic techno live performances, based on intuitive search of audio satisfaction, in a moment of time. Every recording is unique, no overdubbed and night dance powered. With the help of her with her close friend and partner of Jacopo Fresia, Modular Moon | Modular Synthesis School continues to educate, and highlight the importance of live performance over pre-recorded laptop music. They dedicate their activity towards live performances, opening modular synthesis to public, supporting the industry and growing along with it. Tulpa | Dusha currently performs worldwide with both DJ and modular projects. She is active member of Kyma Symbolic Sound and modular communities, mother of a son Tristan. more about Anna: www.chipeky.com Modular Moon | Modular Synthesis School : www.modularmoon.com www.modularsynthesisschool.com more about Anna: www.chipeky.com Modular Moon | Modular Synthesis School : www.modularmoon.com www.modularsynthesisschool.com

PEG talks to Los Angeles based Singer Songwriter and Electronic Music Producer Evelynka Check out her website: https://www.evelynka.com/ Bio Evelynka is a classically trained progressive/deep house music producer and DJ out of Los Angeles. Her influences run deep and wide—beginning with the brooding, melancholic classics of her youth, transitioning to her high energy techno-centric years at university in Detroit, and finally after immersing herself into the soulful deep-house underground scenes of Eastern Europe, she returned to the U.S. in 2012 to begin her career. After initially only playing local gigs as a DJ in Boston, in 2013 she quickly evolved into producing. Combining dark groovy bass lines, rich melodies and her own vocals, Evelyn’s music fits somewhere between deep, tech and progressive: artistically niche, yet still broadly accessible. I met Neonstorm whilst touring through Pittsburgh in 2018 - BP opened up for a band that Chris (aka Neonstorm) was in called The Alfomega. This led me to listening to Chris' solo record and I was blown away by how good it was - so I figured i'd get him on the podcast to dig in further. We talk about the music of nature, lost media, and how social media brought us together.
I met Andrew Dornoff at one of my shows because he's always on the lookout for electronic music in Nashville. A fest head and music junkie, he talks about how he's traveled the world and undergone a ton of experiences that have led him to this place of curiosity and eccentricity.
