Hay cosas que la vida te quita y otras que nadie puede quitarte del todo. Para Lourdes, esa cosa siempre fue el fútbol. Desde los 7 años el balón era su mundo: lo pedía en Reyes, dejaba fiestas por un partido, jugaba hasta sangrar las rodillas. A los 13 años estuvo a punto de entrar a la Selección Mexicana femenil, pero sus papás no tenían los 10 mil pesos que pedían. Esa puerta se cerró. El tiempo siguió. La vida la alejó de las canchas. Años después, siendo madre soltera de tres hijos, el fútbol quedó enteramente atrás. Lo que no quedó atrás fue quien ella es: alguien que no se rinde, que trabaja, que lucha y que cuida a los suyos aunque cueste todo lo que tiene. Entonces un día llegó a Santa Martha Acatitla. Die KI kennt Vorlieben, Größen, frühere Käufe und sogar den Inhalt des Kleiderschranks. Produktsuche wird dadurch persönlicher, intuitiver und deutlich komfortabler. Gleichzeitig entstehen neue Herausforderungen für Händler und Plattformen. Denn wenn KI-Agenten den Einkauf übernehmen, stellt sich eine zentrale Frage: Wer besitzt künftig die Kundenbeziehung? Besonders spannend ist Saskias Blick auf Live-Commerce. Während viele Menschen dabei sofort an Teleshopping denken, sieht sie darin vielmehr eine Mischung aus Community, Entertainment und Commerce. Bei eBay stehen nicht austauschbare Massenprodukte im Mittelpunkt, sondern häufig einzigartige Artikel: Luxusuhren, Vintage-Handtaschen, Sammelkarten oder Refurbished-Produkte. Händler präsentieren ihre Ware live, beantworten Fragen der Community und schaffen Vertrauen durch direkte Interaktion. Ein entscheidender Unterschied zu vielen KI-getriebenen Entwicklungen: Live-Commerce lebt von Menschen. Spannende Zahlen aus dieser Episode: Rund 40 Prozent des eBay-Umsatzes stammen bereits aus nicht neuer Ware. In Asien werden bereits etwa 35 Prozent des E-Commerce-Umsatzes über Live-Commerce generiert. Der globale Live-Commerce-Markt soll laut Prognosen von 25,6 Milliarden auf 74,5 Milliarden US-Dollar bis 2030 wachsen. eBay Live ist mittlerweile in sieben Ländern verfügbar. Der weltweite Außenumsatz von eBay Live hat sich gegenüber dem Vorjahr verachtfacht. Einzelne Luxusuhren-Verkäufe erzielen in Livestreams Preise von über 90.000 Euro. En las audiencias, su padre declaró los hechos tal cual: "Yo me bajé, ella se quedó en la moto". Nunca la deslindó. Nunca dijo que ella no sabía lo que iba a hacer. Hoy, cuatro años después, Yahana está sobria y hace muñecos para sobrevivir. Está terminando sus estudios, ha aprendido a conocerse, a preguntarse quién es, a donde pertenece. Dit naar aanleiding van de protesten tegen asielopvang die in verschillende gemeenten steeds vaker flink uit de hand lopen. Na weer een week vol ongeregeldheden schuiven aan in Buitenhof: burgemeesters Ton Heerts en Mark Boumans en hoogleraar onderzoeksjournalistiek Nikki Sterkenburg. Duizenden doden, hongersnood en seksueel geweld; in Soedan vindt de grootste humanitaire crisis ter wereld plaats, maar aandacht voor het conflict is er nauwelijks. Sinds 2023 bevechten het regeringsleger en paramilitaire rebellen in het land elkaar. Waarom grijpt de internationale gemeenschap niet in? We gaan het erover hebben met Elles van Gelder, NOS-correspondent in Afrika, en D66-Kamerlid Mpanzu Bamenga. El expediente tiene irregularidades que documentan lo que ocurre cuando el sistema decide consignar antes de investigar. La defensa presentó tres dictámenes médicos y una opinión técnica sobre su síndrome. En audiencia, el juzgador vio que Iván apenas podía caminar dos metros. Todo fue desestimado. ¿Quién dentro del crimen organizado está ahí por voluntad propia, y quién fue cooptado, amenazado, secuestrado? El sistema se niega a hacerse esa pregunta. Simplifica el trabajo. Permite consignar sin distinguir. Mientras no distingamos a las víctimas de los perpetradores, seguiremos llenando penales con personas cuya historia nadie escuchó. Van onze correspondent... is een serie van de makers van podcast De Dag. Iedere zondag maken we kennis met een van de correspondenten van de NOS, het land waar ze wonen, en de verhalen die wat hen betreft meer aandacht verdienen. Vandaag: Saskia Houttuin, correspondent Frankrijk. Saskia woont en werkt pas een paar maanden in Frankrijk, maar het land voelt voor haar als thuis. Haar moeder is Française en als kleuter sprak ze nauwelijks Nederlands, maar wel vloeiend Frans. Thuis in Leeuwarden stond het Franse nieuws aan, en uit de keuken kwamen Franse klassiekers als ratatouille. Nu gaat ze met de metro of op haar deelfiets op pad als er nieuws is - iets dat op haar vorige post wel anders was. Acht jaar lang werkte ze als correspondent op het Afrikaanse continent, waar ze soms maanden moest wachten voordat ze een land binnen mocht, en ze het vliegtuig kon pakken om het nieuws te verslaan. In de voormalige Franse kolonie Senegal keek ze soms met open mond naar de president van Frankrijk, Macron. Hij is bezig aan zijn laatste jaar als president, en wil worden herinnerd als groot staatsman. In Europa stelt hij zich op als een sterke leider, maar in de voormalige koloniën zien ze hem heel anders. Wat wordt zijn erfenis? En wie volgt hem na de verkiezingen op? Reageren? Meist heißt es, dass sie nicht genug Geld eingenommen hat und damit den “Gesandten” verärgert hat. Tatsächlich ist ihr Freund ‘Patrick' sauer, denn wenn sie den Zorn des Gesandten auf sich ziehen würden, dann seien sie beide in Gefahr, brüllt er ‘Saskia' an. Doch ‘Saskia' weiß nicht, was sie noch tun soll. Seit Monaten schläft und isst sie kaum und verkauft ihren Körper an fremde Männer in Aussicht auf ein glückliches Leben. Wütend zieht ‘Patrick' sein Taschenmesser und lässt die Klinge rausschnellen. Wenn sie das alles nicht ernst nehme, dann müssten sie nun eben ein Opfer bringen, sagt er. Wenig später fließt Blut. In dieser Folge “Mordlust - Verbrechen und ihre Hintergründe” geht es um eine junge Frau, die sich eine schöne Zukunft mit ihrem Partner ausgemalt hatte und stattdessen in die Zwangsprostitution geriet. Es geht um das System von “Loverboys”, um Menschenhandel und darum, welche Dynamiken Betroffene in die Abhängigkeit treiben. Und diese Folge zeichnet den Weg einer Frau nach, die uns ihre Geschichte erzählt und dabei schonungslos und ehrlich in die dunkelste Zeit ihres Lebens blickt. Saskia Wheeler is a strategist and researcher working at the intersection of neuroscience and design, translating cognitive and sensory science into frameworks that guide how creative work is felt and experienced. For the past six years, she has worked with designers, agencies and hospitality brands to help them close the gap between the experience they intend to create and the one people actually feel. Saskia studied philosophy at Trinity College Dublin before completing a Master's in Neuroaesthetics at Goldsmiths, University of London.In this episode of Out of the Clouds, Saskia tells Anne about her upbringing in a creative London household (her mother was an art director who often had photographers living in the family home) and how she developed an early sensitivity to the way art and design bring atmosphere and meaning to everyday environments. Drawn to questions of consciousness and perception, she explains what led her from philosophy to neuroaesthetics, and why she felt she could not go further into questions of consciousness without first understanding the brain.Saskia and Anne discuss what neuroaesthetics actually is: the scientific study of how art, design, music and architecture measurably change our brains and bodies. Still a relatively young field, it draws on rigorous research to show that beauty and aesthetic experience are not decorative concerns but deeply embedded in how we evolved. The most surprising thing Saskia has learned in the field: just how deeply wired we are to respond to beauty.She also shares an insight that sits at the crossroads of philosophy and neuroscience and that has stayed with her since her studies: that lived experience is not simply made up of what we perceive in the present moment. It is co-created by our past memories, which don't merely inform the present but actually shape and in part create it. This is why two people can occupy the same space and have entirely different experiences of it, and why, Saskia reflects, understanding this has given her more compassion for herself and others.Saskia and Anne discuss the applications of neuroarchitecture and design, and what the research tells us about what makes spaces feel good to be in. Saskia identifies three things people value most: homeness (warmth and comfort), coherence (how well the space meets expectations and guides movement through it) and fascination (how much it surprises and interests). She also makes the case for touch as the most underestimated sense when it comes to comfort, linked to the neurochemical oxytocin and the experience of trust, and explains why this extends beyond physical contact with other people to the materials we come into contact with in our environments.Creativity is also an emerging area within neuroaesthetics, and Saskia speaks about it as an increasingly recognised fifth pillar of health and wellbeing, alongside exercise, sleep, nutrition and social connection. What she says here is worth sitting with: the benefits of creativity come from the expression and the doing, rather than the output. The inner critic is so often the biggest obstacle, because creativity has long been tied to being good at something rather than simply doing it. Anne and Saskia also share a practice: both are devoted morning pages writers.The conversation also touches on cognitive load and clutter (including research suggesting that disorganisation in our environments creates low-level vigilance even when we are not consciously aware of it), biophilic design, the science of lighting, and Anne's own plans for Le Trente, a social learning studio she is developing in Geneva.A rich exchange with a thinker who is quietly changing how the built world gets made. Desde ahí su vida se hundió en una espiral de drogas, violencia y pérdida hasta que despertó en prisión sin recordar siquiera qué había hecho. Hoy cumple 17 años por robo. Estaba tan intoxicado que no recuerda qué robó. Su historia va mucho más allá de ese delito. Octavio empezó a consumir drogas a los 12 años en Garibaldi vendiendo chicles mientras su padre cantaba como mariachi. A los 14 ya se drogaba con su propio padre. Las adicciones se volvieron su escape de una realidad insoportable.  Este es uno de los episodios más duros de Penitencia.
