A good magician never explains. This week Maggie & Jacob tackle the wonderful Halloween III with special guest Ben Slaby. An absolute treasure in the Halloween series, Halloween III veers off the Michael Myers storyline into something truly special. This week, Maggie and Jacob talk about 1981's Halloween II (and a bunch of other random stuff). Joined by silent special guest, one of their cats, Vincent. Well, we're back! It's been a hot minute since season 1, and we are so excited to see you again.  It's season 2, and we will be covering the Halloween series. This week, Maggie and Jacob tackle the 1978 John Carpenter classic, Halloween, with special guest Jonathan Algeroy. 

It's the 13th episode, the 12th & final Friday the 13th movie, and the end of season 1. This week, Maggie & Jacob sit down to discuss the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th. We LOVE this movie and beg you all, if you haven't seen this or maybe you saw it in the past and didn't love it, give this movie a chance. This movie has genuinely funny moments, suspenseful and scary moments, and some pretty fantastic kills. Plus, an incredible performance by Derek Mears as Jason. It's bitter sweet to see this franchise come to a close, but we finish with a great movie. We are off next week, but we will see you in 2 weeks to jump right into Halloween.

It's 2003 and there is plenty of snippy dialogue, creative kills, and visceral gore to go around. This week Maggie & Jacob are joined by movie enthusiast, friend, and old coworker Jeremy Borton. Together we venture into the world of Freddy Vs. Jason, which has got to be one of the most fun and entertaining in the entire Friday the 13th franchise. Almost 20 years in the making, this movie delivers for both Freddy fans and Jason fans. Dive in with us, because it's time for two slashers to clash, where "winner kills all".

The gang travels to space this week to cover the tenth movie in the Friday the 13th franchise: Jason X. Join us and our lovely guest, actor, teacher/professor, and wonderful human Scott Shomaker to tackle this wild movie. This 2001 film takes Jason 455 years in the future, to a group of students and engineers and soldiers of some kind? All who are making their way back to Earth 2 on a research trip, or something. It's Jason in space, did you expect an incredible plot line? But there is lots to love about this movie, from great kills and some practical effects, to the legendary Uber Jason. Laugh and rip this movie to shreds with us as "evil gets an upgrade".

This week, Maggie & Jacob are joined by actor, singer/songwriter, & musician Myles Phillips, who also wrote and performed the amazing theme song to this podcast! Together we tackle the ninth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. For sure, the last one. This Friday the 13th movie will make you doubt everything you know about the series, Jason Voorhees, and Crystal Lake. It will also make you feel like you missed out on some movie in between that provided a whole lot of backstory and lore and characters that never existed before. For a film widely derided by Friday the 13th fans, we actually all really loved watching and discussing this movie together. This week, Maggie & Jacob are joined by two lovely actors and overall wonderful humans, Joe Hanson and Madeline Lacey. Together they tackle a really fun installment in the Friday the 13th Franchise: Jason Takes Manhattan. This movie was the most expensive budget in the Friday series when it was made in 1989, and this is one of the longest Camp Slasher episodes thus far. Join us as we discuss Jason's magical adventure on a boat (and 10 minutes in Manhattan), full of creative kills, baby lake boy Jason hallucinations, and more teleporting Jason than one movie can handle. Join Maggie & Jacob flying solo this week and they delve into the depths that is Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Follow along as they try to piece together this plot with its lackluster cast of characters, questionable motives, and villains so bad you can't wait for Jason to take care of them. With a storyline that is basically Jason vs. Carrie, this film has lots of fun special effects and is definitely not the worst of the Friday the 13th movies.

Although successful enough to produce many more sequels, this Friday the 13th movie may not quite reproduce the same suspense and love that the other movies in this franchise have received. This week, Maggie & Jacob are joined by actor Jonathan Algeroy to tackle a truly wild installment in the Friday the 13th series, Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D. As indicated by its title, this movie jumped on the 3D train, maybe focusing most of the filming on making the 3D effects work, and less on things like acting, plot, & character development. But, we also get some really great kills & this is the movie where Jason picks up his iconic hockey mask.

A double dose of slasher this week as Maggie & Jacob celebrate the reason for the season and watch My Bloody Valentine (1981). Happy Valentine's Day everybody!
