This week, Bunnie brings on her personal doctor and friend, Dr. Leah Cordovez - a calm, no-BS physician who blends science and nature to actually know her patients. They talk about Dr. C's wild journey from Panama to private practice, what it's like treating Bunnie's weekly “emergencies,” and why the bond between doctor and patient matters more than we think. Dr. C also answers your questions about sleep, endometriosis, weight, poop (yes, really), and how to actually feel better without shame, shortcuts, or guesswork.Dr. Cordovez: Be Well Watch Full Episodes & More:www.dumbblondeunrated.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What if the stories you've believed about womanhood no longer serve you? What if midlife is not a crisis, but a portal to your deepest power and pleasure? In this soulful and empowering episode, Wendy sits down with bestselling author, mythologist, and spiritual teacher Dr. Alanna Kaivalya to explore the myths that have shaped our lives—and how to rewrite them in a way that honors our feminine essence. With her PhD in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology, Alanna helps women break free from outdated archetypes, drop the masculine armor, and become the Satisfied Woman—a woman who embodies fulfillment, sovereignty, and soul satisfaction. Together, Wendy and Alanna dive deep into the duality of masculine and feminine energy, the magic of midlife reinvention, and how true empowerment comes not from doing more, but from receiving more. This conversation is a blend of ancient wisdom, modern insight, and real talk about relationships, patriarchy, purpose, and what it really means to be free. Whether you're crawling out of your own chrysalis or just starting to awaken to your feminine fire—this one's for you. ✨ What You'll Learn: Why midlife is the perfect time for feminine reinvention The true meaning of a “Satisfied Woman” (hint: it's not what you think!) How patriarchy masked our feminine gifts—and how to reclaim them The difference between masculine and feminine energy (and how to balance both) How emotion and intuition are your feminine superpowers Why curating your life, relationships, and energy is essential for your wellbeing How to navigate conflict and receive support without giving yourself away

Send us a textA Lifestyle Post - Things I want My Kids To Know1. Happiness is a lot of work. You can't be lazy or entitled to achieve it.2. You will make mistakes, and they will only define you if you give it that kind of power. If the lesson is learned, the mistake is worth it. It's your choice whether or not it wins. You are not a prisoner to your past and you are allowed to grow.3. The world owes you nothing. It does not care who you are, where you come from or what you think you deserve. Everything you achieve will have to come from your own dedication to what you love. It will not be handed to you easily.4. People do not get to tell you who you are. Make peace with your own sould and give no one the power to tell you that you're something you're not. Know who you are and be okay when others do not understand you.5. Work hard. Never go into anything with half your heart. Respect is earned by how you did the job and not the title by your name.6. Show up your people. No matter what has happened, show up. That's what people will remember about you in the end of all of this.7. Choose grace for others and for yourself. No one gets it right. You won't either. Bitterness is the anchor to the soul but grace sets you free.8. Have fun. Be adventurous. None of us are getting out of this alive so make the time you have count with the people who actually matter.9. Laugh in the good times and the bad. Your sense of humor and your ability to take a punch will set a strong foundation of stability.10. Love God. He's the most consistent source of peace and truth you'll ever have.11. Kindness is never wasted. Even when people don't return it, you'll always be proud of how you treated them.12. Take care of your body and mind. You only get one of each, and they'll carry you farther than you know.13. Comparison is poison. Run your race, not someone else's. Your story matters even if it doesn't look like theirs.14. Know when to walk away. Not everything deserves your energy. Protect your peace.15. Ask questions. Curiosity leads to growth. Be willing to admit you don't know everything and go find the answers.16. Be honest, even when it's hard. Integrity isn't always easy, but it's always worth it.17. Stand up for the underdog. You'll never regret being someone else's courage when they had none.18. Keep showing up. The wins are great, but the growth is in the showing up—especially when it's hard.19. Never stop learning. Books, people, places—everything has something to teach you.20. Say 'I love you' often. And mean it. Life is short, and love is the most powerful legacy you'll ever leave.Support the show

From Cassette Tapes and Phrasebooks to AI Real-Time Translations — Machines Can Now Speak for Us, But We're Losing the Art of Understanding Each Other May 21, 2025A new transmission from Musing On Society and Technology Newsletter, by Marco CiappelliThere's this thing I've dreamed about since I was a kid.No, it wasn't flying cars. Or robot butlers (although I wouldn't mind one to fold the laundry). It was this: having a real conversation with someone — anyone — in their own language, and actually understanding each other. And now… here we are.Reference: Google brings live translation to Meet, starting with Spanish. https://www.engadget.com/apps/google-brings-live-translation-to-meet-starting-with-spanish-174549788.htmlGoogle just rolled out live AI-powered translation in Google Meet, starting with Spanish. I watched the demo video, and for a moment, I felt like I was 16 again, staring at the future with wide eyes and messy hair.It worked. It was seamless. Flawless. Magical. And then — drumroll, please — it sucked!Like… really, existentially, beautifully sucked.Let me explain.I'm a proud member of Gen X. I grew up with cassette tapes and Walkmans, boomboxes and mixtapes, floppy disks and Commodore 64s, reel-to-reel players and VHS decks, rotary phones and answering machines. I felt language — through static, rewinds, and hiss.Yes, I had to wait FOREVER to hit Play and Record, at the exact right moment, tape songs off the radio onto a Maxell, label it by hand, and rewind it with a pencil when the player chewed it up.I memorized long-distance dialing codes. I waited weeks for a letter to arrive from a pen pal abroad, reading every word like it was a treasure map. That wasn't just communication. That was connection. Then came the shift.I didn't miss the digital train — I jumped on early, with curiosity in one hand and a dial-up modem in the other.Early internet. Mac OS. My first email address felt like a passport to a new dimension. I spent hours navigating the World Wide Web like a digital backpacker — discovering strange forums, pixelated cities, and text-based adventures in a binary world that felt limitless.I said goodbye to analog tools, but never to analog thinking. So what is the connection with learning languages?Well, here's the thing: exploring the internet felt a lot like learning a new language. You weren't just reading text — you were decoding a culture. You learned how people joked. How they argued. How they shared, paused, or replied with silence. You picked up on the tone behind a blinking cursor, or the vibe of a forum thread.Similarly, when you learn a language, you're not just learning words — you're decoding an entire world. It's not about the words themselves — it's about the world they build. You're learning gestures. Food. Humor. Social cues. Sarcasm. The way someone raises an eyebrow, or says “sure” when they mean “no.”You're learning a culture's operating system, not just its interface. AI translation skips that. It gets you the data, but not the depth. It's like getting the punchline without ever hearing the setup. And yes, I use AI to clean up my writing. To bounce translations between English and Italian when I'm juggling stories. But I still read both versions. I still feel both versions. I'm picky — I fight with my AI counterpart to get it right. To make it feel the way I feel it. To make you feel it, too. Even now.I still think in analog, even when I'm living in digital. So when I watched that Google video, I realized:We're not just gaining a tool. We're at risk of losing something deeply human — the messy, awkward, beautiful process of actually trying to understand someone who moves through the world in a different language — one that can't be auto-translated.Because sometimes it's better to speak broken English with a Japanese friend and a Danish colleague — laughing through cultural confusion — than to have a perfectly translated conversation where nothing truly connects. This isn't just about language. It's about every tool we create that promises to “translate” life. Every app, every platform, every shortcut that promises understanding without effort. It's not the digital that scares me. I use it. I live in it. I am it, in many ways. It's the illusion of completion that scares me.The moment we think the transformation is done — the moment we say “we don't need to learn that anymore” — that's the moment we stop being human. We don't live in 0s and 1s. We live in the in-between. The gray. The glitch. The hybrid. So yeah, cheers to AI-powered translation, but maybe keep your Walkman nearby, your phrasebook in your bag — and your curiosity even closer.Go explore the world. Learn a few words in a new language. Mispronounce them. Get them wrong. Laugh about it. People will appreciate your effort far more than your fancy iPhone.Alla prossima,— Marco

Things get a little too mischievous this week on Live, Laugh, Larceny! Trevin can't stop wasting pineapple—despite his best efforts—and Amanda's already slapping mosquitoes in March. Are we sure summer didn't skip spring? The crew plays a wild round of Two Truths and a Lie: Trevin goes full Animal Planet with facts about quokkas, capybaras, and honey badgers, while Amanda brings props and Pop Rocks to test Trevin's sweet tooth and smarts. Then it's time for storytime, where the crimes may be labeled “mischief,” but the drama goes way deeper.
Grief is one of life's most painful teachers—but in the darkness, there can be light. In this powerful and heartfelt episode of The Midlife Makeover Show, Wendy sits down with Lisa Boehm, a certified grief educator, inspirational speaker, and author of Journey to Healing: A Mother's Guide to Navigating Child Loss. After the unimaginable loss of her 17-year-old daughter Katie, Lisa turned her pain into purpose by creating a supportive community for grieving mothers and sharing practical tools for healing. Together, Wendy and Lisa dive deep into the raw reality of grief, the myths that keep us silent, and the healing power of embracing both sorrow and joy. Lisa shares her “H.O.P.E.” pillars—four transformative strategies to carry you through grief of any kind, whether it's the loss of a loved one, a relationship, your health, or your identity.
