    Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's experience with self-induced healing refers to his recovery from near-fatal testicular cancer in the 1950s, which he attributed to both spiritual conversion and a potential folk remedy. While in the Soviet Gulag, he experienced a profound inner transformation, later documenting the concept of "self-induced healing" in his novel Cancer Ward. Solzhenitsyn stated that his illness and prison experiences led him to a "deep awareness of God" and a spiritual cleansing, which he viewed as crucial to his recovery.
