SUMMARY The current chapter of dad life is not the whole story. In part two of the DadAwesome Multipliers summer series, Jeff reads Chapter 2 of the DadAwesome book, The Tale of Two Thieves, and unpacks what a three dozen cookie dough heist taught him about choosing curiosity instead of reactivity. Then Phil Comer joins with a powerful clip on giving a blessing instead of returning evil for evil, and how one choice in a tense room trickles down for generations. This episode closes with clear reflection, multiplication, and activation steps you can take this week. Key Takeaways You are living into a multigenerational story, and this chapter is only a tiny slice of it. Curiosity opens doors. Reactivity closes them. You cannot eliminate chaos, but you can shape how it unfolds. Stones of remembrance are about keeping the stories alive, not preserving the reminders. Giving a blessing when you have received a criticism changes the atmosphere of a room. Action Steps REFLECTION Look back at the chaos. When curveballs hit recently, were you reacting or responding? Were you making assumptions or staying curious and asking God what He wanted to teach you in that moment? Open your phone and look back at the last month. Scroll your photos, scroll your calendar. Where has God shown up that you have not paused long enough to call to mind? Ask the honest question. If your kids described the atmosphere you carry into the room right now, would tenderness make the list? Would softness? Would kindness? MULTIPLICATION Send the text. Reach out to seven or eight dads and invite them to journey with you through the end of August. If two or three say yes, you have moved from addition to multiplication. Pick your gathering. A text thread, a campfire, a boat, a camping trip with your kids. Make one specific invite this week. Carry a copy. Keep an extra DadAwesome book in your vehicle or your laptop bag and look for the moment to hand it to a dad and tell him you see him being awesome. ACTIVATION Start a family remembrance list. Sit down together, scroll photos and your calendar, and capture the answered prayers, the provision, the goodness, the moments God showed up. Let every kid contribute. Tell the stories out loud. At the dinner table or at bedtime, tell your kids one story of God's faithfulness in your family. Flip the switch this week. The next time a curveball comes, choose curiosity first. Laugh at the moment. Show your kids that dad is anchored and steady, not thrown off. Nearly 250 episodes in, we've realized something: New listeners might not be making it to the stories. So this week, we're doing something different. If you've ever wondered what Live, Laugh, Larceny is all about—or you've been looking for the perfect episode to share with a friend—this is it. Trevin's Dreadful Dilemma sparks a complete format flip, as the crew creates a starter pack for new listeners and revisits some of the funniest, weirdest, and most unforgettable petty crimes we've covered over the years. Within the first few minutes, we revisit one of our favorite stories: Madonna's lawsuit over an allegedly lewd concert performance, complete with memories of Trevin's parody song, Knockers. Then it's time for the Top 5 Live, Laugh, Larceny Crimes We Can't Stop Thinking About, featuring:

Forever Chemicals & Microplastics: The Invisible Pollution Inside Us What if the most widespread pollution on Earth isn't something you can see? In this episode, we dive into the strange and unsettling world of forever chemicals (PFAS) and microplastics—man-made substances that have found their way into our water, food, blood, organs, and nearly every corner of the planet. From non-stick cookware and food packaging to synthetic clothing and bottled water, we explore how modern convenience may have created a legacy that could outlast civilization itself. Along the way, we separate fact from fiction, examine the latest scientific research, discuss how these chemicals became so widespread, and ask the bigger questions: Are we living through another leaded gasoline moment? Can these contaminants ever be cleaned up? What do they actually mean for our health? And what happens when "forever" becomes part of the human body? As always, the conversation wanders into unexpected territory with weird facts, dark humor, surprising history, and the kind of rabbit holes only Sofa King can find. Listen. Learn. Laugh. Prepare to get gaslit. In this episode of Live, Laugh, Larceny, Trevin and Amanda dive into two stories connected by manipulation, deception, and people who believe everyone else is the problem. Before the crimes, Trevin begins physical therapy for an injured shoulder and arthritic hip, sparking a fresh round of body-image frustration. Amanda accidentally unleashes her full mom voice on an unsuspecting friend after mistaking her for one of her children. For Trivia, Trevin explores the surprising history of Neapolitan ice cream and its original flavor lineup, while Amanda brings one of New York City's strangest pieces of history: the infamous stunt where pranksters temporarily "stole" the deed to the Empire State Building. Then it's time for stories. Trevin takes us to Pennsylvania, where 48-year-old Eric Pierwsza turns a drunken meltdown into a full-scale mantrum. What starts as a bad night escalates into property destruction, an excavator, and consequences that are impossible to ignore. Amanda dives into the decades-long case of Beth Lisa Jaslove and the Center for Growth and Enlightenment, where a trusted therapist allegedly manipulated clients through the so-called Community Money Program. What began in 1999 ultimately became a story of deception, trust, and financial exploitation. From explosive tantrums to calculated manipulation, this episode explores what happens when people abuse power—whether through brute force or psychological control. IL – Father John Paul Erickson joins Deacon Patrick Conley to discuss Why We Laugh (5:43) How is laughter a uniquely human trait? (20:09) Nick - Appropriate laughter and why we laugh. Altar server trying to light a candle. All of a sudden, people were laughing after he tried so many times. It has to be tempered with the appropriateness of the situation. (24:38) Break 1 Did Jesus have a sense of Humor? (30:58) Rose - Humor. I'm 87. Humor has helped me in my last stages to continue without having to complain so much. (38:04) Break 2 Pauline - Joke: Pastor and bus driver. Both die at the same time. Bus driver gets ticketed first. Pastor waits and finally to gates. I thought I'd be the first in line. St. Peter said why was I first? When you preached everyone slept, when he preached, everyone prayed. (43:47) Joe - Joke: Jesus and Moses on a golf course. At this dog leg of a hole. Jesus says, 'I'm going to get above par on this. Jesus hits the ball, goes into water. He walks on water to get the ball. Asked Moses if it's Jesus, and said no, it's Jack Nicholas. (47:04) Carol - When I think about laughter, I think why it's important to have a merry heart. It does good like medicine. Laughter is the best medicine you can have. Juanita - Years ago, God showed me his sense of humor when I was upset over my grandson's mom keeping us from seeing him. I unexpectedly received a gift of a small meat cleaver. It just made me laugh. It keeps us grounded in our sense of humor.
