Stuck in the “elevator to hell,” the Mouths of Madness crew (Kevin, Dan, Bearclaw & Logan) crash into Episode 48 to review Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)—the IP tug-of-war entry where Kane Hodder returns, Creighton Duke steals scenes, the Necronomicon pops up, and that infamous Freddy vs. Jason grabbing the mask tease. Expect generational takes ('80s vs 2000s), best kills (camp scene, melting cop), budget/box-office talk, why New Line ditched “Friday the 13th” in the title, and a brutally honest verdict on lore changes, body-hopping Jason, and whether the gore FX can save a franchise detour. If you love slasher history, '90s horror, and unfiltered banter, grab Jason's beating heart (figuratively), hit play, and dive into the madness with us—from St. Peter's gate… straight down.Your Hosts- Kevin, Dan, Bearclaw, and Logan. And Jason visits his son at USC and it was... an adventure. 5pm: On the "DeRush-Hour" he learns more about a new Fox 9 documentary on the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. And Dave Schwartz talks about what went wrong for the Vikings, and why it's taking so long for the next MN United playoff game.

Hey Goons! This week on our Patreon Pics, Kevin helped us kick off August with his suggestion, the ever polarizing and fatally fantastic Freddy Vs Jason!!! Before we get into the film, we discuss a little bit of Houston Horror Film Fest, Greg Nicotero's involvement in an Angry Orchard Jason Voorhees spotting, and what Niecy Nash and Glenn Close are up to these days. Then we segue into Freddy Vs Jason— a film we all anticipated since Jason Goes to Hell. A lot of people had comments on this back in the day, but I do believe it's developed a cult following since then, and even if you didn't enjoy it, it still has its merits. Join us as we dive into Robert Englund's last appearance as Freddy in FILM, why Robert Yu has issues with Katharine Isabelle, and all the chisme and fun in between. This is an early 2000's time capsule, and we are happy to run down that twisted memory lane (while acknowledging its problems and celebrating its upsides). Thanks for this pick, Kevin, we had a lot of fun going back! We just had Friday the 13th, and it doesn't feel right to let the holiday go by without taking a look at our favorite Hockey Mask Slasher, so let's celebrate the right way and take a look at one of the entries that offered something very different from the rest of the franchise | Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday | After being blown away by a team of FBI agents, Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) needs to find a way to overcome certain death. When his bloodied remains are sent to the morgue, his heart, still intact, is able to hypnotize a coroner and take over his body. After brutally dispatching a couple of FBI agents, he heads back to his favorite stomping grounds: Crystal Lake. Jason commences another teen massacre while a bounty hunter (Steven Williams) discovers the only way to kill him.
As we wrap up the horror side of The Month of Chaos, the cast is treated to possibly the silliest Friday the 13th movies in the franchise. I say silliest with all the love and admiration I can muster. Jason Goes to Hell is a delightful left turn from all the typical Jason troupes while still giving us the creative kills and practical gore we all love. Friday fans are torn over this one and I'd like to encourage you to revisit Goes to Hell if it's been a while. Don't take it seriously for heaven's sake. It's a Jason movie. Just have fun.
This week we're launching into the future with Jason X (2001). We delve into the film's blend of horror and sci-fi, evaluate Jason's new look, and discuss its placement in the franchise chronology. Adam Marcus is the director of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993). A brand-new documentary on the film, Hearts of Darkness: The Making of the Final Friday (2025) dives into the fandom of the controversial ninth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. Adam co-wrote Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013) with his wife Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, which went to #1 at the box office, beating Django: Unchained (2013). He also directed and co-wrote Secret Santa (2018), a hilarious and bloody story about a family on the verge of destruction. When Adam was 11, he worked as a production assistant on Friday the 13th (1980). At age 13, he was an editing apprentice on the raunchy sex comedy, Spring Break (1983). When he turned 15, he started operating his own theater company in Connecticut, putting on productions that he directed & produced himself. After taking film courses at NYU and being given advanced credit, Adam moved to Los Angeles to work on feature films. He co-produced My Boyfriend's Back (1993) and then upon successfully completing a directors test with New Line Cinema, was handed the keys to one of the biggest franchises in horror history. Nammis! Följ oss på Instagram! Evil has finally found a home. The year is 1993. The Friday the 13th series has been dormant for four long years. Paramount is out. New Line Cinema is in. What does this maverick film studio responsible for bringing us the likes of Freddy Krueger have planned for one of the most popular cinema icons of the 1980s? Well, I'll tell ya…...demon worms and Hell, babyyyy! Bring on the Fan-Fictioney nonsense!!! I'm your host, Dave, and joining me as we gulp down some demon worms are fellow cinephiles and hellspawn Mike, Jackie, Ryan, and Nick “Immortan Hoof”. Topics of discussion in this episode include more false advertising as to the final-ness of Jason's demise; we ponder the convoluted details of the sting operation set up by Crystal Lake's SWAT department; and finally, I guess Jason is into BDSM now…? Sure, why not? Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. You can also Follow Us on Twitter, Like Us on Facebook, or shoot us an email at apocalypsevideopod@gmail.com. What are your thoughts on Jason Goes to Hell? Was this a low point in the franchise or a shot of black goo that the series needed? Let us know, we wanna hear from ya. That'll do it for this obligatory installment of our ongoing Friday the 13th series. Join us next time as we watch from ringside as two horror icons go head to head in the fight of the century with Freddy vs. Jason. Whoever wins…we lose.

This week on the Geek Garage podcast, we dive into the most outrageous and divisive entries in the Friday the 13th franchise: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) and Jason X (2001)! In Jason Goes to Hell, Jason's body is obliterated, but his evil spirit lives on, jumping between hosts as he hunts for a blood relative to restore his true form. Then, in Jason X, the franchise takes a wild sci-fi turn as Jason is cryogenically frozen and wakes up in space 400 years later, becoming an unstoppable killing machine (literally) as Uber Jason. We share our thoughts on these campy, over-the-top movies that, while far from perfect, still offer plenty of entertainment through inventive kills and impressive practical effects. From demon-summoning daggers to Jason smashing heads in liquid nitrogen, these films are a testament to the franchise's ability to embrace the absurd. Join us as we celebrate the chaotic fun of these unconventional slasher gems!If you enjoy our show, please leave us a rating & review on Spotify and Apple Podcasts!Facebook Page | Facebook Group | Instagram | Patreon

Talking Trash is a show to discuss movies that some people deem to be garbage, mediocre or just one that people never knew existed, we talk through the plot in spoiler fashion while asking "is this a bad movie?" That's 5 different franchises and the lowest rated in each. Next up is Jason Goes to Hell the final Friday (not really) or Friday the 13th Part 9. The Out Now with Aaron and Abe horror specials for 2024 continues with thoughts on films that turned out way different than we may have initially expected. The Brandon Peters Show's Brandon Peters and The Forgotten Filmcast's Todd Liebenow join Aaron and Abe to go over their picks for films they felt misled by based on the posters, VHS covers, or ads. Listen in to enjoy hearing about a series of movies this group has various recollections of based on how they perceived a film to be based on the expectations of their younger minds, let alone others where the circumstances basically amounted to lying to the viewer before seeing what the movie is actually about. Join us for the Spooky Season as we watch a Spooktacular sequel. Spooktacular as in, spooky to Friday the 13th fans. Today we're talking about Jason Goes to Hell, a movie that practically tramautized the fanbase and was seen as one of many films that basically killed the golden era of slasher movies. With its bizarre storyline involving bodyswapping, an utter lack of Jason, and a weird mythology, Jason Goes To Hell is almost unrecognizable as a F13 flick. So why would a couple of slasher fanboys defend it? Maybe it's because this is the last gasp of facemelting Practical FX. Maybe it's because it's a true video nasty compared to the corporatized Jason Takes Manhattan. Or maybe it's just because of one slick gentleman named Creighton Duke. Either way, hang with us as we talk about the misunderstood genius of Jason Goes to Hell.Website: https://thatbadmedia.com/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/33D4bKj...Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Twitter: https://x.com/ThatBadMediaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbadmedia...Hearts of Darkness: The Making of the Final Friday - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hearts-of-darkness-the-making-of-the-final-friday#/

"Jason spends zero actual time in hell"This week's hottest movie is... Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. This movie has everything: exploding heads, a gremlin heart, and a cameo from Freddy Krueger's glove. Plus, there's a magical dagger that can actually send Jason to Hell—because apparently, all this time, Jason's been more Supernatural than Slasher. The next sequel we will be discussing is "Wes Craven's New Nightmare". For it, I chatted with SFX Make-Up Artist Bill Hunt. Bill talked about growing up outside of Nashville and how going to the movies like Jaws and King Kong at a young age with his parents, reading Fangoria Magazine at the newsstand, Howard Berger, Dick Smith's Advice, Jason Goes to Hell, New Zealand, and more. Tom Parsons was a local make-up artist in Nashville who helped out Bill at the age of 13 and was an important part of Bill's journey. I loved Bill's journey and his passion for life.
