This week on Sibling Rivalry, Bob and Monét are in drag to celebrate Halloween. Bob shares his morning routine, debates early morning vs. late-night workouts, and calls out the worst thing a venue can do to a drag queen. They revisit past prosthetic looks, discuss what kind of characters Trixie and Katya would play on Dungeons and Drag Queens, and ask if Halloween parties are automatically costume parties. Monét reveals a nickname she has for Andy, Bob theorizes about Jinkx's Broadway success, and they predict the Halloween costume of the year. In this Halloween-themed episode of The Killer Point Of View Podcast, we revisit a trilogy within the Halloween Franchise. Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), and Halloween H20 (1998). We break down what made Carpenter's original film so impactful, debate whether Part II reached the bar set by the original, and discuss if H20 served as the perfect ending for Laurie Strode. We talk legacy, characters, standout moments, and kills from each film, and explore how different the franchise might feel if Halloween were introduced to the world today instead of the late 70s. After rating all three movies, we close out the episode with a Halloween holiday “This or That” game.
"Can I please get another glass of Chardonnay please?" We're back on our horror icon Michael Myers this week as we look back at Halloween: H20. Released for the 20th anniversary of John Carpenter's original summer of 1998, it was an early capitalizer of nostalgia culture, this time scrapping 4, 5, and 6 (The Thorn Trilogy) in favor of a more streamlined story. Jamie Lee Curtis is back playing Laurie Strode, after a seventeen-year hiatus. Laurie is in hidding after faking her own death after the events of Halloween II, and is the head mistress of a excluvie west coast boarding school. It's the type of soap oprea backstory we love, and the Spanish style board school gives it an odd flavor that all of the movies don't have. The end result is a short and sweet little 90s post-Scream slasher. Seriously, with credits, this movie runs a brisk 86 minutes, that includes the ten-minute prologue before the credits. When JLC appears on screen, there are under seventy minutes left! We talk about Kevin Williamson's uncredited rewrite, its very WB-friendly cast, and don't worry, we talk extensively about Josh Harnett's goat-crewed bangs. The hair deserves its own Wikipedia page at this point. H20 is hardly a perfect movie, but we stand by that it has aged better than most of the sequels, including the recent David Gordon Green movies. It's Halloween, everyone is entitled to one good scare! Scary? Crit? Exactly! On today's episode, get out your broomsticks because we're off to Coventry to discuss everybody's favorite twin witches with Twitches (2005)! Arguably one of Disney Channel's best original movies (especially for Halloween), we give Tia and Tamera Mowry their flowers while talking about the enduring legacy of Twitches, the layered significance of Camryn and Alex's upbringings, standout characters, and our curioisity on the film's production among other topics. We love this movie as well as Tia and Tamera are so happy to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary among all the other Twitches fans with the release of this episode! And let's keep the good times rolling with another reminder about the Fayetteville Fan Fest. We hope to see some of you on the 18th!Timestamps4:04 - Negronomicon18:45 - Crit1:05:52 - Final CurlsGems from Ep. 112Moesha (1996, television series)M3GAN (2022)MEGAN 2.0 (2025)Halloween (1978)Halloween II (1981)Friday the 13th (1980)Jason X (2001)Sinners (2025)Kiss of the Spider Woman (2025)Black Phone 2 (2025)Twitches (2005)The Cosby Show (1984)That's So Raven (2003, television series)Sister, Sister (1994, television series)Seventeen Again (2000)Better Call Saul (2015, television series)Breaking Bad (2008, television series)Saved by the Bell (1989, television series)Schitts Creek (2015, television series)Ginny & Georgia (2021, television series)Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000)Mr. Nice Guy (1997)Dr. Doolittle (1998)Twitches Too (2007)Ice Princess (2005)Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005)Now You See It (2005)Buffalo Dreams (2005)Go Figure (2005)Life Is Ruff (2005)The Proud Family Movie (2005)High School Musical (2006)Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)TheChronicles of Narnia The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005)Double Teamed (2002)Twitches: Building a Mystery (H.B. Rob Zombie's Halloween II (2009, Director's Cut) takes the brutal reimagining of Michael Myers to an even darker, more surreal level. The Boogieman is Back! For this week's Summer of Sequels, we're headed back to Haddonfield where the action picks up right where it left off with HALLOWEEN II (1981). Michael's night isn't over, and he's creatively carving his way through a mostly abandoned hospital. Laurie's on bed rest, and Doctor Loomis is waving his gun around like a mad man. That sounds stressful, I'm gonna go relax in the hot tub. Instagram: @bmoviebeatFacebook: The B Movie BeatdownEmail: thebmoviebeatdown@gmail.com Letterboxd: @Absolute_trash @SlenderJames
Film editor Glenn Garland (THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, HALLOWEEN 2007, IT: WELCOME TO DERRY, POKER FACE) joins Adam and Joe in the ArieScope studio to discuss his career journey. From growing up with parents who didn't understand why he would possibly want to work in the entertainment industry… to finding personal peace and joy in the edit suite as opposed to enduring the chaos of being on-set… to why as an editor it can be easier to separate yourself from the overall production process and just focus on the story being told… to starting out working as a dialogue editor for the late Roger Corman on ultra low budget films (even though he didn't know anything about cutting dialogue)… to why he has enduring affection for THE FANTASTIC FOUR (1994)… to making the transition from cutting on film to cutting digitally… to how he first wound up working with Rob Zombie on THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and the incredible working relationship they've had ever since… to stories from working on RZ's HALLOWEEN (2007) and HALLOWEEN II (2009)… this is a fantastic conversation that brings you beyond the set and into the dark room where it all comes together.
August is here, and we're kicking off a new month on the show. In honor of Freakier Friday, we're taking a month to look at the careers of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis! While their paths only crossed with their body-swapping comedy, they both starred in plenty of beloved films. This week, we're talking about Lohan's debut and Curtis' return to a beloved franchise. The Parent Trap introduced the world to Lindsay Lohan and convinced millions of kids that there were actually two of her. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later saw Jamie Lee Curtis return to play Laurie Strode for the first time since Halloween II, and also introduced the world to Josh Hartnett. With a family comedy and a late 90s slasher on the docket today, it's a bit of a vibes mismatch but still one of our most fun episodes in a while. Stay tuned to hear our reviews of both films, which one was more important for their respective stars, and break down the insane narratives of both. Do you have a favorite Lindsay Lohan or Jamie Lee Curtis movie? Let us know at cinemaontappodcast@gmail.com

Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 is an earnest picture; It brought depth to the mythos, and truly did nothing to trample on John Carpenter's original version. There's more character development which presents the opportunity to believe in the characters we care for. To bring more insight to the films, I had the honor and pleasure of speaking with Diane and what she shared is absolute priceless knowledge. The fact that she has been acting for a very long time, and being the daughter in law of Clu Gulager, makes her even more legendary. I love learning from the actors and actresses that I talk to; so much to hear about what happens on set and sharing the behind-the-scenes secrets. Me loving both films: The Feast Trilogy and Rob Zombie's Halloween II – we can learn a lot about someone. Diane has been there; she has raised the bar. No one can play the Biker Queen like Diane and certainly there are only a few that can be at the same level as her.

As horror fans, it's hard enough trying to keep up with all the movies—let alone the memorabilia and collectibles—but just imagine having to live with one of us! In this episode, we've invited our wives onto the show to share their perspectives—not just on living with a slightly obsessive fan, but on how they've come to embrace the genre themselves. You'll hear how they became fans in their own right, and what kinds of films still give them the shivers. As you'll learn, being a horror fan has evolved into a shared experience—a communal passion that binds us together. While we might not all love the same titles, we all agree on one thing: this genre rules. We welcome Kat AuBuchon, Jenn Glonek, and Dawn Kitley as they join us to help Discover the Horror! You might not expect the likes of Rob Zombie's Halloween II making our top lists but you still may be surprised what we considered to be the best sequels we watched in the last year. You'll hear a question from Mike about including the Karate Kid from 2010 as a movie in contention for our lists that quickly turns into a rhetorical question that needed not be asked, whether or not we can surprise each other by what ends up on our lists and the one movie that ranks at the top for both of your fearless podcast hosts. It's almost Halloween, and it's been a while since we discussed a Michael Myers movie, so why not tackle 1981's divisive sequel HALLOWEEN II? This fever dream (literally) of a slasher has some fun kills, Donald Pleasance doing the most, and the introduction of the head-scratching explanation that Laurie is actually Michael's baby sister from the beginning of the first movie. We never really get to move past that in the rest of the Halloween franchise, so we might as well get into on this week's episode. Also, look at how red the blood is in this one! The Halloweenies continue a new October tradition! Last year, Michael Roffman and Dan Caffrey ventured to the Haddonfield Public Library to read Curtis Richards' excellent 1979 screen-to-page adaptation of the John Carpenter original Halloween. Fortunately for them, for us, for you, there are several more novelizations, and they're going through 'em all. This year sees the two dust off Dennis Etchison/Jack Martin's 1981 novelization for Halloween II. Together, they discuss Etchison's writing style, the additional scenes, the dreams of Laurie Strode, and more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
"He was my patient for fifteen years. He became an obsession with me until I realized that there was nothing within him, neither conscious nor reason that was... even remotely human." We watched "Halloween II" with our friend Gabe Munoz and we'll be right back after we x-ray our entire candy haul. This movie wastes no time and picks up mere moments after Dr. Loomis (a frenzied Donald Pleasence) unloads 6 rounds into Michael Meyers at the end of the 1978 original. With all of our characters either unalived by Michael or under sedation in the emergency room, we get a whole new cast of Haddonfield residents to get picked off by "the shape". Is it to this movies detriment that OG Final Girl Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is in a hospital bed most of the movie? Maybe. Is her wig an even worse offence? Definitely. Original director John Carpenter may not have returned to helm this one, but he penned the script along with then wife and collaborator Debra Hill so the "bones" of the story and characters are there (spooky pun intended), but can Laurie's minimal screen time and Dr. Loomis frantic delivery save this one? The "Halloween" franchise has had its ups and downs but this kooky entry is a lot of fun and definitely worth the watch.
