Flashback to 2017 - it's the second year of the show, we're in the middle of talking about FRIDAY THE 13th THE FINAL CHAPTER, and our guest, author and podcast host (Ladies Love Paul Rudd) Amy Pascale, coins the signature phrase of the show: #GetBunked. That's right, revisit history in the making in this episode as we say goodbye to Ted, Doug & Sara, discover the hidden connection between Harry Manfredini's soundtrack and “choo choo” trains, pitch a swell sounding 16 month-calendar idea based around Patrick's semi-nude body, solve the Bottom/Top Bunk Dilemma and dig into everyone's favorite new appetizer, “strip 'n dip,” and we face the tough Choose Your Own Deathventure. It's the most fun you'll have discussing wanton carnage at length this week! Buy Amy's book here and listen to her podcast, Ladies Love Paul Rudd!! We're only halfway through the remixed revisit of our coverage of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, and it's time to bring in an expert. That's right, this week we're joined by film director Jeremy Kasten (The Wizard of Gore, Attic Expeditions) to learn what it's really like to be on a movie set with Crispin Glover. Along the way, we attempt to uncover the mystery of Mrs. Jarvis' missing first name, expose the kind of person who samples a dip with their fingers, and learn of Jason Voorhees' secret life as a Swap Meet Craft Salesman. Plus, we try to find out why anyone would stock a rental cabin with sad Big Band records and stag films, and we toss out our suggestions in a new edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure. Let's get stunt-acular, people! Follow Jeremy here to learn more about his movies and upcoming projects!! Part of the BLEAV Network.Get even more episodes exclusively on Patreon! This week on Crime Wave: C.B. Everett's THE FINAL CHAPTER begins with the discovery of a manuscript written by a literary superstar who disappeared ten years earlier. It's a pulpy espionage thriller that possibly contains clues to his disappearance. Asked to annotate the strange novel, the missing writer's former friend and fellow author, C.B. Everett, begins uncovering unsettling parallels between the book's fiction and their shared past. As the lines between story and reality blur, the novel turns into a layered literary puzzle full of hidden messages, shifting loyalties, and dangerous secrets. It's a deliciously meta mystery about authorship, friendship, and the stories people tell to conceal the truth. #podcast #author #interview #authors #CrimeWavePodcast #authorsontheair #podcast #podcaster #authors #authorsofig #authorsofinstagram #authorinterview #writingcommunity #suspensebooks #authorssupportingauthors #thrillerbooks #suspense #wip #writers #bookrecommendations #bookaddict #bookaddicted #bookaddiction #bibliophile #read #amreading #lovetoread #BonnarSpring #BonnarSpringBooks #bookouture #thrillers #CBEverett #TheFinalChapter Connect with C.B: www.instagram.com/martynwaites4847 and: https://bsky.app/profile/martynwaites.bsky.social

We're back for a chilly good time with Cold Prey 2 (2008), the Norwegian slasher sequel that picks up directly where the last one left off, with shades of Halloween 2 (1981) and Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) serving as inspiration points as Jannicke once again faces The Mountain Man in a mad, slashery jaunt through a spooky hospital. Thankfully, nary a sign of Chris Martin to be had, but that doesn't mean we don't have jokes!

Greetings, and welcome back to Horror Business. We've got one heck of an episode in store for you guys as we're talking about 1984's Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter and 1986's Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives First off thank you to the fine folks over at Lehigh Valley Apparel Creations, the premiere screen-printing company of the Lehigh Valley. Chris Reject and his merry band of miscreants are ready to work with you to bring to life your vision of a t-shirt for your business, band, project, or whatever else it is you need represented by a shirt, sweater, pin, or coozy. Head on over to www.xlvacx.com to check them out. And as always thank you to our Patreon subscribers. Your support means the world to us and we are eternally thankful. If you would like to become a Patron, head to patreon.com/cinepunx. Thanks in advance! We briefly talk what we've doing involving horror recently. Liam discusses listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series of novels, and be we briefly talk about our favorite audiobooks that add something to the source material. We talk about the film Touch Me, and Liam talks about listening to The Stand on audiobook. Justin talks about the films The Whistle and Bodycam. We talk at length about the film Undertone. Up first is Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter. We open by talking about the appeal of Jason Vorhees as being based on the fear of the other in that until the sixth movie he is essentially a mentally challenged hermit living in the woods. We touch upon the upcoming series. Justin talk abouts the checkered history of Paramount's support of the franchise in that they were “becoming embarrassed” with their association with the series and intended to kill off Jason and have this be the end of the series but the financial response of the films inspired them to continue churning out sequels, and Justin ascertains that these movies are the epitome of the worst part of capitalism. We talk about the various problems with the horror community in general and toxic fandom as a whole. Justin talks about how not minding the first three F13 movies he doesn't really find the character of Jason Vorhees compelling at all. Justin talks about what he likes about the film: the filmmaker decided to make a child the protagonist in a film that was very clearly not at all made for kids, and not just a protagonist but a smart protagonist. Liam talks about his experience with these films in that part six was the first of the series he saw and how he weirdly misremembers them, including a moment in which a character is murdered in an over the top almost silly manner (the infamous “he's killing me!” scene) as well as the many, many extended chase scenes, and how the mystique of the character is ruined by shots of him running, and Justin adds that either a brisk walk or straight up just showing up is the only acceptable way slasher villains should move. We talk about Tommy Jarvis' method of fucking with Jason, and how it's at least innovative for a horror movie. Up next is Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. We start by talking about how this is the first film where Jason is overtly supernatural, and that Tommy did actually kill him but now he's resurrected and actually undead. Justin talks about how it's weirdly believable that Tommy would need to see the body before believing Jason was actually dead. He also talks about how unlike part 4 he finds this scene entirely irredeemable. Liam talks about how the movie doesn't hold up to his memory of it. Liam talks about how ridiculous it is that everyone has willingly forgets about Jason. He also talks about how there's a weird sense of humor in the film that isn't present in the prior films, especially in the infamous paintball scene, and how he didn't really remember that as a kid, although he says the “quippiness” was a bit much. We discuss how the ending of chaining Jason to the bottom of the lake sounds cool but there's no real logic to it. First off thank you to Christan for not only suggesting these films but also being a faithful patreon subscriber. It truly means the world to us when people see and hear what we do and decide to support us in any way possible. As always thank you for listening and to everyone and anyone who donated on Patreon, checked this episode out, or shared a tweet/shared a post on FB/gave us love by recommending us to someone. Three of our past subjects died this spring. Betty Broderick, who served 35 years for the 1989 La Jolla murders of her ex-husband Dan and his new wife Linda. Raynella Dossett Leath, the Tennessee nurse twice tried in the deaths of her district attorney husband and her second husband, and ultimately cleared. And Claudine Longet, the French-born singer whose 1976 shooting of Olympic skier Spider Sabich in Aspen ended in a thirty-day sentence served largely on weekends. Welcome to Conversation Coffee Break! In this episode, Nadine Matheson sits down with crime writer Martyn Waites, writing under the pseudonym C.B. Everett, to chat about his brilliant new book, The Final Chapter. The Final Chapter is a bold, genre-defying meta-thriller, two complete novels in one. It follows C.B. Everett (yes, Martyn's own pseudonym!) as he's asked to edit a mysteriously reappearing manuscript by a writer who vanished a decade ago. And the real story? It might be hiding in the footnotes. In this conversation, Martyn reveals:Why he created the CB Everett pen name — and borrowed his daughters' initials to do itThe Russian doll structure of The Final Chapter — a spy thriller inside a literary mystery
The Norse settlement of Greenland, founded by Eric the Red in approximately 985 AD, provides a poignant and sad look at the final chapters of the Viking Age. Excavations at the Herjolfsness graveyard at the southern tip of Greenlandhave yielded extraordinary organic material preserved by the permafrost, including the clothing of the last inhabitants. These garments, such as a patched and coarse woolen dress, reveal that by the 15th century, the Greenlanders were no longer high-status people and had become increasingly isolated from the broader Norse diaspora. The settlement struggled as the climate cooled, while the Inuit people, who were better adapted to the Arctic conditions, thrived and moved further south. Artifacts like small wooden figures found in the region suggest interactions between the Norse Greenlanders and the Inuit populations. The final historical records of the colony are remarkably personal, documenting a witch burning in 1407 and a wedding in 1408. In the case of the witch burning, a man named Kolgrim was executed for allegedly using witchcraft to seduce a married woman. These events represent the last known activities of the Norse in Greenland before they vanished entirely, leaving behind only ruins and memories in the ice. 8/81630

The melodic death metal world changed forever in 2025 with the death of Tomas "Tompa" Lindberg. This week on The Loaded Radio Podcast, we are joined by founding bassist Jonas Björler to discuss the band's final masterpiece, The Ghost Of A Future Dead. Recorded more than two years ago and held in accordance with Lindberg's final wishes, this album serves as the definitive closing chapter for the kings of Gothenburg. Jonas opens up about the "lost" recording sessions at Fascination Street Studios, his personal memories of his brother-in-arms, and the cold reality of whether At The Gates can—or should—continue without its iconic voice. In the second half of the show, Scott Penfold breaks down the most explosive news week of the year:
Mensimah's Round Table: Conversations with Women of Power and Grace
Episode Title: Preparing for Life's Final Chapter: Planning, Presence, and Processing GriefIn this episode, Reverend/Coach Lee Atherton and I explore how to approach life's final chapter with clarity, compassion, and intention. From practical planning to the emotional realities of loss, we discuss how to care for ourselves and our loved ones through one of life's most inevitable transitions. What you'll learn:How to prepare for your own end-of-life wishes: We break down the essentials of planning—wills, advance directives, and conversations with loved ones—so your values and preferences are honored, and your family isn't left guessing during difficult moments. How to support others through loss (and yourself, too): Grief doesn't follow a straight path. Zakk Wylde opens up about Ozzy's final show, the 17 days that followed, Dimebag's unfinished recordings, and the making of Black Label Society's crushing new album Engines of Demolition. Topics Include: Zakk runs on 14 pots of Valhalla coffee every single day. He was invited to Back to the Beginning well in advance. Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, and Ritchie Blackmore are mythical heroes to Zakk. No More Tears was rehearsed but Ozzy pulled it on the day. Ozzy was giddy meeting Axl Rose — couldn't believe it was happening. Zakk watched Sabbath's final set alongside Axl Rose and Sharon Osbourne. Just 17 days after the show, Ozzy passed away unexpectedly. They'd been texting memes and planning another record together right until the end. Zakk envisioned a global Back to the Beginning charity tour series. A sober Zakk and Ozzy watched their blasted crew destroy a Tokyo restaurant. Dimebag left hours of unfinished song ideas on tape for potential release. Playing Dime's solos means staying faithful — like Stevie Ray covering Hendrix. Zakk and Eddie Van Halen's amp, calling it life-altering history. Engines of Demolition was built across several years alongside the Pantera Celebration tour. Zakk confirms BLS, Zakk Sabbath, and more Pantera shows are all coming. The documentary aired on a Tuesday night in October, and nothing was ever the same. Within hours it was trending worldwide. Scientists came forward. Former government employees reached out. And across the country, people started paying closer attention to the forests around them. This episode brings the first volume of Born Wild to a close — but not before we hear from some of the most compelling voices in the archives. Russell Crawford, a Tennessee hunter with over fifty years in the Cherokee National Forest, describes the morning he had a clear shot at something massive and chose not to take it. Not because he couldn't — but because pulling that trigger would have felt like murder.Margaret White spent thirty years teaching biology in rural Washington and debunking every Sasquatch story her students brought to class. Then she came face to face with one on a trail in Olympic National Park, and every rational explanation she ever had turned to dust.James Whitehorse carried his story for fifty-four years. He was eight years old, herding sheep near the Chuska Mountains on the Navajo reservation, when a towering figure stepped out of the junipers and raised its hand in greeting. His grandfather told him the white world would never understand. James kept quiet — until now. Maria Santos worked the graveyard shift at a gas station on the edge of the Gila Wilderness. One night at two in the morning, something eight feet tall walked up to the pumps and started examining them like a curious child discovering something new.Thomas Erikson came from four generations of Oregon loggers. They called them the Wood Apes, and every logger in the Pacific Northwest knew about them. Thomas shares three encounters spanning decades — including the day one of them spoke to him and pointed at the trees, at him, and at itself. Like it was saying they were all part of the same thing. Thomas passed away six months after this interview. We hear from Eddie McGraw, a long-haul trucker who watched a creature stroll across a Montana rest area at two in the morning like it owned the place. From David Baker, a National Geographic photographer who captured three frames of the clearest Sasquatch image ever taken — then locked them in a safe for fifteen years. From Patricia Morgan, a Yellowstone ranger who reveals a secret file of sightings passed down from ranger to ranger since the 1950s. And from Dr. Michael Brooks, a primatologist who spent fifteen years hiding evidence that would have validated everything. Then comes the revelation no one expected. Brian's own mother, Jean Patterson, finally shares a secret she kept for decades — she saw one of the creatures on the Lyerly property a full year before Brian ever did. She stayed silent to protect him. To give him the choice to walk away.He couldn't walk away. He never could. The episode closes on the eve of the final expedition. The witnesses gather at the mountain house. The sun sets over the Appalachians. And deep in the forest, the creatures begin to sing.Tomorrow, everything changes. This is the end of Book One. In this episode, after some extensive black magic rituals, Dustin has (mostly) recovered from his illness, and we take to the mics once again to continue our exploration of genre cinema. This time Jason's pick takes us back to the 80's (as usual) but specifically to Hong Kong to check out Tony Ching Siu-Tung's legendary A Chinese Ghost Story from 1987. Prepare yourself for a tale of two varied takes as our hosts weigh in quite differently on the spectacle. But before all that, we dish on some recent watches as Jason scratches off an unseen Sam Raimi flick and Dustin champions an odd slice of V-Cinema trash. And so much more!
