A Boston sports podcast by two guys who have relocated to lands of fairer weather. Brought to you by OnTheCouchSports.com
The boys are back. Gere and Frau discuss the Patriots' eventful offseason and preview the Red Sox season. Frau grades the Celtics trade deadline and Gere casts some shade on the Bruins optimists before shining a light on the Isobel Cup-winning Boston Pride. The guys then memorialize the Villanova Men's Basketball team and break down the disappointment that has been the Liverpool Reds.
The guys welcome on fellow Red Sox Braintrust member Litch to talk Patriots, Alex Cora's triumphant return, and the passing of Tommy Heinsohn.
The Fair Weather Fans welcome on Jess Donahue to talk about Pats/Chiefs and NFL conspiracy theories. Frau and Gere then memorialize the Celtics, chat a bit about the Bruins, Sox, and Liverpool, and then they try to figure out how long egg-based condiments last while they're sealed.
The boys are back. Frau and Gere analyze Game 1 of the Celtics/Heat ECF and talk about how Grant Williams is the key to the series and perhaps the key to saving the world. Cam Newton is a Patriot and he looks good already, but what can we expect from this Pats team going forward?
NFL draft recap, the MLB punished the Sox for something, Frau tells a story about Johnny Damon.
Mookie traded (probably?), Brady gone (probably not?), Bruins and Celtics are good.
The Patriots are maybe bad, the Celtics are maybe good, and the Bruins are definitely good while Frau deals with the frustration of coworkers stealing his food
The boys discuss the ridiculous Patriots defense, excitement for the start of the Celtics' season, and a hot start for the Bruins.
Frau and Gere break down how we don't even know if the Patriots are good because they haven't played an NFL team yet, the Red Sox are depressing, the Bruins only bring up bad 2019 SCF memories, and the USA Celtics lost in the World Championships.
The boys are back. A lot of catching up to do on all the latest, including Boston sports, The Spice Girls, and films from over two decades ago. The episode with the most singing to date.Sponsored by:#PeasThoMakenka Hot Sauce
The boys are back in town, and oh boy, do they have a lot to say about this Patriots team.
ALL FOUR major Boston sports teams are in action. The Red Sox are back in the World Series, the Patriots are hitting their mid-season stride, and the Bruins and Celtics are recently underway, each with lofty expectations. Frau and Gere are back to talk about all of it. (Note: This episode was recorded prior to bellybutton-ring-gate, the Dodgers winning the NLCS, and news of Gronk's injury).
Frau and Gere discuss how internet speeds are a scam, how people say they understand how microwaves work but nobody REALLY knows how microwaves work, and how the US dollar is doing/currency exchange rates. They also wildly speculate as to how the insane Croatia/Bosnia border came to be, make a few too many Seinfeld references, and eventually talk about sports for a bit.
The boys are joined by recurring guest Tomo (AKA TO9) to discuss the Sox, the NBA Draft, and some World Cup. Presented by ebaumsworld.com
The Celtics are moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals, and the guys eulogize the recently deceased Bruins. Also discussed: qualms with the Sox, the Met Gala, Chinese nicknames for NBA players, Liverpool, and how badly Frau wants to interview a dog
The Bruins and Celtics are in the second round of their respective playoffs, the Sox still have the best record in baseball, and the Patriots made/traded a bunch of draft picks. Also discussed: how to smuggle dead sea creatures into an ice rink, how dumb the broadcast of the NFL draft is.
Frau's intro/outro struggles continue. The Sox are off to a hot start thanks to their starting pitching, the Bruins still have a shot at the #1 seed in the East despite their injuries, and the Celtics' season is in jeopardy with the loss of Kyrie Irving. Meanwhile, the Patriots have made some more offseason moves, and the Villanova Wildcats are NCAA Champions once again.
Frau finally successfully navigates the outro, but he loses focus and the intro trips him up. The guys then discuss the walking-dead Bruins and Celtics who both seem locked into the #2 spot in the respective conferences' playoffs. Patriots free agency, Red Sox spring training, and NCAA Tourney are also discussed.
Frau and Gere talk about the impact JD Martinez will have on the Red Sox lineup, triggered Yankees fans, small trades the red-hot Bruins have made, and debate the anatomy of Erik Karlsson's ankle. Later, they jump into some Celtics, Olympics, Villanova basketball, and Frau messes up the closing remarks for approximately the 15th time in 19 episodes.
Frau and Gere are joined by Brandon Share-Cohen of The Hockey Writers to discuss the Patriots vying for their sixth Super Bowl (Big Game), the Bruins' insane hot streak, potential trade targets for the Celtics, the barren landscape that is Red Sox news, as well as life in Canada, Chick-Fil-A Polynesian sauce, and why Five Guys is the worst burger chain
Frau and Gere return to dive in on the Pats' bid for another Super Bowl, discuss the surging Bruins (31:01), talk about the still-good Celtics (40:27), and lament the stagnant Sox offseason (49:05). The guys then go into some nonsense, including a truly secret Santa with a mysterious podcasting mic, and they compare and contrast their holiday travel experiences.
The guys dive straight into the Pats and whether or not their banged-up, problematic defense affects their outlook. Gere breaks down the Bruins and their injury-riddled start, while Frau dishes on the Celtics, the best team in the NBA. The Red Sox' hire of Alex Cora and their chances of landing either Giancarlo Stanton or J.D. Martinez are also discussed
After a hiatus that included a cross-country road trip and a hurricane evacuation, the guys are back and ready to discuss all four of Boston's major sports teams.
The guys dish on the huge Isaiah Thomas/Kyrie Irving trade, talk about the first place Red Sox, catch up with Patriots camp, and Frau rants about the still unsigned David Pastrnak
The guys talk Sox post-trade deadline and then check in with Pats camp and Bruins free agency.
