After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade three years ago, the question of abortion's legality and availability returned to the states. As of now, abortion remains broadly legal in more than 30 states and Washington, D.C. In some, like Kansas, Missouri and Montana, abortion is still legal largely because of voters. But while Trump spent a lot of time on the campaign trail trying to avoid the topic of abortion, his new tax and spending law proves that the GOP has stayed laser focused on restricting the rights of everyday Americans. It contains a provision that prevents health care nonprofits like Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion care provider, from receiving Medicaid reimbursements for one year for ANY services – even those not related to abortion. Mary Ziegler, a professor at UC Davis School of Law who focuses on the history and politics of reproduction, healthcare and conservatism, explains how the new law could limit your ability to access health care and threaten Planned Parenthood. And in headlines: Trump announced the U.S. will send Patriot missiles to Ukraine, a bunch of states sued the Trump administration for withholding money for after-school care and English language programs, and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced he'll stay in the race to be New York City's next mayor.Show Notes:Check out Mary's work – workstatecourtreport.org/about/mary-zieglerCall Congress – 202-224-3121Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

President Donald Trump met with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte announcing a weapons deal that signals a sharp change in the U.S. posture toward Russia's war against Ukraine. Last week, President Trump confirmed that the U.S. will resume sending Patriot missile systems to Ukraine and now the Pentagon will start sending Ukraine offensive weaponry that could be used to target Russian forces on their own soil. The structure of the deal is that the United States will manufacture the sophisticated weapons, sell them to NATO who will then transfer them to Ukraine. FOX's Eben Brown speaks with Dan Hoffman, FOX News contributor and former CIA Chief of Station in Moscow, who says the announcement should be well received with a plan that our European allies share more responsibility. AP correspondent Karen Chammas reports on movement towards getting more weapons for Ukraine.
Trump says Gaza ceasefire could be days away "US President Donald Trump said a Gaza ceasefire deal could be wrapped up within the week. Speaking at Joint Base Andrews, he noted talks are progressing and hinted at a breakthrough soon. He confirmed that Israel has agreed to the proposed terms for a 60-day truce, with the deal now in Hamas' hands. Qatar and Egypt are mediating, and Hamas has responded positively, showing readiness to move forward. " Trump approves Patriot missiles for Ukraine "Trump announced the US will send Patriot air defence missiles to Ukraine but says the EU is paying the bill. “We're not paying anything for it,” he said, calling it good business for the US. He took a jab at Putin, accusing him of double talk: “He talks nice and then bombs people at night.” Trump didn't say how many missile systems will be delivered." Australia launches biggest war games ever "Australia kicked off its largest-ever military drill, with 35,000 troops training across the country. “Talisman Sabre 2025” includes forces from over 15 partner nations and, for the first time, extends into Papua New Guinea. The exercise reflects growing security concerns in the Indo-Pacific, especially around Taiwan. The three-week drills will cover land, sea, and air operations, showcasing serious regional coordination." Sudan: RSF attack kills 11 civilians, including children "At least 11 civilians, among them three children, were killed in a deadly RSF attack in North Kordofan, Sudan. The Sudan Doctors Network slammed it as one of the most brutal assaults yet. Over 30 others were injured, including nine women and pregnant civilians. Medical officials are calling on the UN and African Union to intervene and stop the violence." Erdogan pushes for ‘Terror-Free Türkiye' "President Erdogan says Türkiye is pushing to erase terrorism from the region's agenda for good. In a call with UAE President Al Nahyan, he reaffirmed Ankara's commitment to regional security under its ‘Terror-Free Türkiye' initiative. Al Nahyan welcomed the move and said it would greatly enhance stability."

Send us a textWelcome to the July 11th edition of the Daily Drop, where the Pentagon plays Monopoly with rare earth minerals, drones become the new IEDs, and Trump hands out Patriot missiles like party favors—with NATO picking up the tab (allegedly). Jared unpacks the latest military madness with his usual blend of sarcasm, side-eyes, and straight-up disbelief. From AI drone swarms to banned eyelash extensions, from therapy dogs saving morale to space lasers tracking Chinese satellites—this one's got it all. Oh, and apparently we bombed Iran's nuclear sites… but maybe didn't hit anything? It's like a military-themed episode of “Nailed It!”

President Trump has made it clear: whichever nation is the obstacle to peace in ending Russia's war on Ukraine will face an opponent with the military aid and backing of the United States. Putin has no intention of giving up his objectives in Ukraine and Trump is over the bull. Reversing a Pentagon freeze of critical weapons shipments to Ukraine, Trump announced Monday night that more defensive weapons were on the way. In the wake of Russia's largest combined drone and missile strike, having Patriot missile systems is paramount to Ukraine's ability to defend themselves. So, what's it going to take to bring Putin to the table? How can we sufficiently arm Ukraine on Russia's dime? And when will this bloody war end?General Jack Keane is a retired 4-star general and the former Vice Chief of Staff of the US Army. He is also the Chairman of the Institute for the Study of War, a Fox News Senior Strategic Analyst, and a member of the Secretary of Defense Policy Board. Send us a textThe Ones Ready crew is back with a blistering Daily Drop that reads like a classified briefing laced with caffeine and outrage. Jared goes scorched-earth on the U.S. finally banning Chinese farmland buys (spoiler: it's 2025 and somehow this wasn't already illegal). Meanwhile, the Army wants to quadruple Patriot missiles—because what's deterrence without volume? The Air Force still can't decide if the F-15EX should have a roommate. Space Force gets a budget bump, but bureaucratic gatekeepers still cling to outdated classification nonsense like it's a Cold War cosplay. And don't worry, the KC-46 is still a flying contradiction—does it even have SATCOM?Oh, and if you're still here: Nashville. October. OTS. Let's go.
