In a Christmas edition, Evan and Mark discuss what Santa needs to bring the Detroit Tigers. The wish list includes the health of star players, some luck, a lot of player development and a right-handed hitter — namely Alex Bregman. Numerous first basemen have been traded or signed in free agency, but the Tigers haven't been involved in those moves. What does that mean for Spencer Torkelson? FanGraphs senior writer Dan Szymborski, who developed the ZiPS projection system, joins Days of Roar for the first time to share 2025 projections for the Tigers, covering the entire team as well as individual players. After discussing the Tigers' roster, Szymborski explains how his projection model produced player comparisons for top prospects Kevin McGonigle (compared to Alex Bregman) and Max Clark (compared to Johnny Damon). To wrap up, Evan and Mark explore the likelihood of Alex Bregman signing with the Tigers, especially since it's now confirmed that Bregman won't be returning to the Houston Astros. Former MLB Outfielder Johnny Damon played in the big leagues from 1995-2012. He came up with the Kansas City Royals and after a short stint with the Oakland A's, Damon signed a four-year contract with the Boston Red Sox. During his Red Sox tenure, he participated in the iconic ALCS between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees in 2003 and 2004. He also was a part of the '04 World Series championship, erasing the team's 86-year-old “Curse of the Bambino.” In 2006, he signed a free-agent contract with the archrival Yankees, ultimately winning his second World Series championship in 2009. In this episode, Damon discusses a new venture he's involved in with a new sports drink entitled “A-Game.” He also explains the process of leaving Boston for New York and how the Red Sox didn't offer him a contract. He also explains in detail the impact of former teammate Cory Lidle's untimely death from a plane crash in 2006 had on his life and career. He also talked about the 2005 movie “Fever Pitch,” and the impact that had on the 2004 team, and the fandom that followed it. October 20, 2004 Game 7 of the ALCS began at 8:30 in the evening at Yankee Stadium. After winning the first three and loosing the next three, the Yankees were sending Kevin Brown to the mound to face Derek Lowe for the Red Sox. Johnny Damon, suffering through a 3 for 29 slump decided to play aggressively leading off the game with a single to left and a stolen base, but was thrown out at home trying to score on a Manny Ramirez base hit. The very next pitch, however, was lined into the right-field bleachers by David Ortiz to give Boston a 2--0 advantage. In the second inning, the Sox loaded the bases against Brown, causing Yankees manager Joe Torre to remove him and put in Javier Vázquez to face Johnny Damon. Damon hammered Vázquez' first pitch into the right-field seats for a grand slam. The rout was on. Damon, who also added an upper deck two-run blast in the fourth, had three hits in the game. Boston also enjoyed a solid performance from their starting pitcher, Derek Lowe, who allowed only one run and one hit in six innings of work, and was never even intended to be a starter in the postseason. He pitched game seven on just two days of rest. Pedro Martinez relieved Lowe in the seventh inning, receiving loud chants of "Who's Your Daddy?" which intensified as he gave up two runs. He eventually raised the velocity of his fastball to the mid-90s and shut down the rally. At 12:01 a.m., on October 21, Rubén Sierra hit a groundball to second baseman Pokey Reese, who threw to first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz to finish the unprecedented comeback. "Not many people get the opportunity to shock the world. We came out and did it," Boston first baseman Kevin Millar said. "You know what? We beat the Yankees. Now they get a chance to watch us on the tube."The Red Sox won 10--3 and became the first team in Major League Baseball history to win a seven-game series after losing the first three games.

He might prefer Al to interview him about UFO's and conspiracy theories. Or maybe Eddie could talk to him about stuff. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and has audio of CC Sabathia and a superstitious Derek Jeter. Johnny Damon was with BT and Sal and thinks he started another curse of the Bambino. C-Lo has audio from Hard Knocks analyzing potential draft picks. Saquon talked about his lack of relationship with Joe Schoen. 49'er Deommodore Lenoir's smoke detector has been chirping for over a year and he won't change the battery because he's superstitious. The Moment of The Day involves Donald Trump golfing with Bryson DeChambeau. In the final segment of the show, the Kelce brothers are doing a cereal that's a combination of a few cereals. Gio said when he was younger he used to love Grape Nuts. He would eat it with almond milk and Splenda.

Hour 1 Boomer is out today and Stugotz is filling in, so it's Gio & Stugotz. We started with the Mets beating the Yankees again as the Yankees continue to struggle at the plate. Gio doesn't believe in this Yankees lineup at all. The Yankees were supposed to be going for it this year which is why they went out and got Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo. Gio wonders what's the point in signing Soto if they don't go to the ALCS. C-Lo is in for Jerry and here for his first update of the day and has all the sounds from the Mets beating the Yankees. C-Lo has audio from Hard Knocks where Joe Schoen is very interested in Drake Maye. Bryson DeChambeau golfed with Donald Trump for his YouTube series and they talked about music playlists. In the final segment of the hour, we talked more about the Mets beating the Yankees last night in the Bronx Hour 2 Joe Schoen has become a star on Hard Knocks. Gio said last night was the most boring of all the episodes so far. Last night was about the deal the Giants wanted to make with the Patriots to grab Drake Maye. John Mara compared this draft to the Eli Manning draft. Stugotz wondered how Daniel Jones felt watching these episodes. We also talked about Tommy DeVito making Shaun Morash a human chicken cutlet. Gio wonders how Dave Gettleman wound up drafting Kadarius Toney. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Mets beating the Yankees. Paul Skenes lost the first game of his career with the Pirates. Brian Daboll talked to Nick Saban 2 hours before the draft. Gio thought he should have called him much earlier than that. In the final segment of the hour, Al has some sort of illness and Stugotz has been pooping during commercial breaks. Gio can't believe people get sick in July. Yesterday Gio hit a moving car with a golf ball.  Hour 3 Stugotz got hit in the head with a golf ball right in the forehead. He said he was gushing blood but played the next hole. We took calls about Gio hitting a car while on the golf course. There was a debate whether Gio was liable or not and a few lawyers called in. An old school caller, John in Glen Cove, called in to talk to Gio for the first time in many years. He thinks the Yankees are under too much pressure and need to let their players grow their hair long. C-Lo returned for an update and started with all the sounds of the Mets beating the Yankees in the Bronx. The middle of the Yankees lineup has been a disaster. Bryson DeChambeau had Donald Trump on his YouTube golf show. In the final segment of the hour, Gio's daughter spilled water and he wanted her to get the towel herself. She was whining until Gio yelled at her to get the towel. He gave her 3 or 4 chances before he started yelling. He does not want to raise a spoiled child. Demon voice Gio was needed.  Hour 4 We talked about Craig Carton calling a Yankees game in a few weeks. Stugotz did a Marlins game once and we have some clips. He said it's a lot harder to do than you would think. Gio and Boomer called a few Devils games and Gio said he was nervous and it was hard to do. We are going to Jets camp in a few weeks and Gio doesn't want another awkward Aaron Rodgers interview. He might prefer Al to interview him about UFO's and conspiracy theories.
