The Seattle Seahawks are now two-time Super Bowl Champions and it still feels surreal. We're continuing the celebration with a full walkthrough of the win over New England and a preview of some of the major offseason topics. Seattle set the tone early, flipped field position through elite special teams, and leaned on a dominant defense that consistently harassed Drake Maye. Kenneth Walker kicked off his campaign for MVP early and the offensive line established their physicality on the first play of the game. Some outstanding plays by the Patriots defense kept Seattle out of the end zone in the first half, but Jason Myers was still able to help build a two-score cushion going into the half. The defense continued to overwhelm New England in the third quarter and held them scoreless. The contributions throughout the game included sacks by Devon Witherspoon, Byron Murphy, Derick Hall and rookie Rylie Mills. As Maye continued to get rattled, it led to key turnovers. Julian Love called his own interception as we saw in the mid'd up version of the Super Bowl. Byron Murphy recovered a fumble that led to the Seahawks only offensive touchdown by AJ Barner, and a Witherspoon pressure gave Uchenna Nwosu a score to match the Seahawks offensive touchdown output. We tackle the debate around Sam Darnold's performance—praised for poise against pressure and also criticized for a missed end-zone throw and a completion percentage that was among his lowest of the season. Offseason questions emerge along the way. How does Seattle sustain a title run? How should they handle some key free agents like Josh Jobe and Tariq Woolen? Do they need to approaches their big-money extensions for JSN and Witherspoon before making some of the more difficult decisions. Coaching and organizational themes surface too, from Mike McDonald's game planning and halftime adjustments to the team's continuity of culture. The episode closes with shout-outs to our members of the flock, listener emails, parade moments, and a nod to Jody Allen as the steady hand atop a championship organization. The guys also react to LeBron becoming to oldest player in league history to record a triple double. The best WEEI interviews from the post-Super Bowl week of Feb. 9-13. Dante Scarnecchia breaks down the play of Will Campbell. Rob Ninkovich and Tom E. Curran discuss what went wrong for the Patriots and where they go next. Plus, Paul Bissonnette talks Bruins and Olympic hockey, Justin Turpin talks Celtics at the All-Star break, and Rob Bradford discusses the start of Red Sox spring training.
WEEI presents a collection of discussion about the New England Patriots this week from The Greg Hill Show, Jones & Keefe, and WEEI Afternoons.
Patriots.com writer Mike Dussault joins the show to give his thoughts on the Patriots not being ready for the Seahawks, why it was good for Mike Vrabel to commit to Will Campbell early on, and why the first p[priority should be giving Christian Gonzalez a brand new contract.
We turn away from the Patriots briefly to discuss tonight's Headlines featuring former NFL players receiving pardons and the NBA apparently making an example out of the Utah Jazz and Indiana Pacers tanking. Then, after mentioning how fun this Patriots' season was because of how unexpected it was, we get into a NH representative facing consequences for flipping off Governor Ayotte in the New England Nightly News. And, the NFLPA did get the change they wanted from these report cards which won't be there anymore thanks to Robert Kraft.
From the highs of his leadership and locker room presence to the lows of his off-filed court cases and salary, Stefon Diggs will be a tricky situation for the Patriots to decide on this offseason.
There were some clues given out via NFL Films' Mic'd Up version of the Super Bowl about the Patriots looking tense and nervous with the moment. Did New England feel overwhelmed from the first time they took the field to warm up? Then, a special Arcand Fire where Christian tries to figure out what makes certain celebrities famous in the NBA All Star Celebrity game. And, you won't believe (or you probably will) where RFK Jr. once snorted cocaine from in Clickbait.
When you watch the NFL Films Mic'd Up version of the Super Bowl, you could see tons of confidence in the Seahawks that the Patriots didn't have right from the jump.
One of the biggest questions of the Patriots' offseason has to involving Stefon Diggs. With legal cases and a great sense of leadership, what should the Pats do with the veteran wide receiver? Then, Mike Dussault from Patriots.com joins the show to give his thoughts on the areas of need to target first. And, NFL owners have shown how soft they are by getting rid of the public release of the NFLPA report cards.
We have landed on the final day of the week sulking on the Patriots' Super Bowl performance and getting some confirmation about how they looked thanks to NFL Films. Did the Mic'd Up video prove how overwhelmed the Pats were against the Seahawks? Then, history is not on Drake Maye's side when it comes to returning to the Super Bowl, but his skills and the rest of the team are more than capable of rewriting said history. And, an early look at the offseason by naming one free agent and draft prospect to keep an eye on.

When the NFL released its mic'd up video from Super Bowl 60, there was a stark contrast between the confidence of the Seahawks and the nervousness of the Patriots.
It took until the Friday after the Super Bowl for someone brave enough to point out the multiple missed calls that went against the Patriots and could've changed the way the game was going.
