Moritz Seider got his revenge on the scoreboard - not for a lack of rough stuff against the Boston Bruins. Tune in as we begin by recapping the Detroit Red Wings taking down Swayman and the Bruins in a Hockeytown rematch of last game, including: James van Riemsdyk turning back the clock, stellar performances from Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Larkin, Emmitt Finnie, & others, Ben Chiarot continuing to be a force, John Gibson's struggles, Simon Edvinsson mixing it up as Nikita Zadorov and Mark Kastelic earned misconducts, & more as Todd McLellan's squad responded (4:50). After that and a conversation about John Gibson's continued performance issues, we take a look at the schedule ahead, Moritz Seider potentially earning Norris votes, Raymond's point streak, Patrick Kane's record, & more (19:00). Next, we break down what we've heard on the Quinn Hughes front as the Vancouver Canucks superstar continues to be the subject of trade rumors surrounding the Detroit Red Wings (and New Jersey Devils): has Steve Yzerman expressed interest? Would Danielson, Kasper, Sandin-Pellikka, Edvinsson, Bear, Brandsegg-Nygard, or others have to be included? Would he extend with the Red Wings? (31:25) Next, concern in Italy as the Olympic arena is behind (and small), & what the options are for the NHL, NHLPA, IIHF, & IOC (43:30), as well as updates on Dmitri Buchelnikov & Max Plante as we peek into the Hockeytown pipeline (51:05). On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back in studio recapping USC's 29-10 victory over UCLA, capping a 9-3 season for the Men of Troy and a likely trip to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl and an opportunity to win 10 games. With star wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane suspended for the first quarter for violating team rules, the offense struggled in the first half and only managed to put one touchdown on the board. Things picked up in the second half for USC, with the offense putting up points and the defense pitching another shutout, dashing UCLA's hopes of an upset bid in the Battle for Los Angeles. The guys breaks down the game, talking about how missing the top-2 receivers set the offense back in the first half and some of the defensive struggles that led to the Bruins taking the lead in a game for the first time in 40 days. After halftime quarterback Jayden Maiava settled in and found his two stars, Lemon for a 32-yard touchdown and Lane on a couple of crucial drive-extending catches. King Miller also ran well, finishing with 124 yards rushing, 42 receiving and two total touchdowns, earning him USC's player of the game. Finishing the regular season 9-3 is better than most expected, but in some ways it still feels like a disappointment with the opportunity to make the College Football Playoffs just a missed field goal at Illinois away. The guys take a look at the season as a whole and discuss why Lincoln Riley said this campaign was an important springboard towards the future success of this Trojan football team. In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio following USC's disappointing 42-27 loss at Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. The loss only dropped SC two spots in the latest CFP top-25 rankings, but with three losses there is essentially no chance to climb up into the top-11 to secure one of the at-large spots. The Trojans will wrap up the regular season with an opportunity to go 9-3, facing off against crosstown rival UCLA in the Coliseum Saturday afternoon. The Bruins started the season looking like the worst team in the country, fired head coach DeShaun Foster, named Tim Skipper as the interim head coach, fired offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri, named Jerry Neuheisel as the play caller and then did the impossible, beat No. 7 Penn State. The Bruins went on to beat Michigan State and Maryland, then came crashing back down to earth, losing the last four games by a combined 129 points. The crew gives their thoughts on the concerns coming out of the Oregon game, the potential for overlooking the Bruins, where the team is health wise and Lincoln Riley's future with the USC football program. With the playoffs off the table, they also discuss which bowl games are the most likely and who some of the potential opponents could be. CLICK HERE for 75% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com!  Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! After a decisive road victory against UCLA in the Rose Bowl, the Washington Huskies return home to take on the Oregon Ducks. Former interns, Jack McCauley and Luke Mounger, get together to recap last week and turn their eyes to rivalry week. First, Jack and Luke assign letter grades to Washington's 48-14 domination of the Bruins in the Rose Bowl. This wire-to-wire beatdown allowed the Dawgs to secure their 8th win in the season, exceeding the O/U 7.5 mark many sports books assigned to UW this year. Additionally, it guarantees that Washington will be at least two-wins-better in year two under Jedd Fisch than they were in his pilot season. Next, Jack and Luke discuss storylines that they will be keeping an eye on in Washington's upcoming battle with Dan Lanning's Ducks. These include discussing how Oregon's potent rushing offense will fare against Washington's solid defense, injury limitations on both sides, and more. After that, each pick their "Bets to Bark" for this upcoming contest. Not to give away hints, but you could likely guess a few of the players that were selected. One of them may or may not be pictured below. The show transitions away from this upcoming game for the Betting B1g segment. Luke continues to dominate this space and has already secured the season victory. Lastly, the former interns disclose their confidence interval that Washington could pull off an upset with possible College Football Playoff ramifications. Richard leads Alex and Rodger through a broad overview of the state of play six days before “Black Sunday,” starting with the Lane Kiffin extended universe and moving outward from there. Among the topics discussed here:* The media apparatus behind Lane Kiffin and Jimmy Sexton's moves, plus Rodger's grand idea to finally reveal what's happening* Why you shouldn't trust anyone claiming to know for sure what Kiffin is doing, and why you shouldn't read too much into his slow process pointing him toward one school or another* Auburn has a clear plan in mind and has been focused on it for weeks. But until Kiffin gives a resolution to Ole Miss, LSU, and Florida, there's a variable in play for Auburn's main target* Terry Smith's maneuvering to get involved in the Penn State search, a great example of how coaches aren't hired, but elected* The options for Eric Morris, North Texas coach and leader of the nation's current No. 1 offense by SP+* Florida State keeping Mike Norvell and showing it doesn't want to compete (in the coaching market)* Cal's firing of Justin Wilcox, and why the two impending new hires in the Bay Area will be unlike anything we've seen in college football* The toxic public conversation around UCLA's athletic director and whether that makes the Bruins job less attractive* What's the deal with Kyle Whittingham at Utah?* UAB's missing-in-action AD. More on him here. And more. Produced by Anthony Vito.
