On this episode we delve into Alice by Christina Henry. This is a dark, exciting and compelling Alice in Wonderland retelling that we were unable to put down. We also managed to bake some adorable and delicious rose tea cakes inspired by Cheshire.

In this episode we make ice cream, and an ice cream flavored fudge, inspired by The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay. We love this young adult sweet, dark and beautiful romance. We love this book, possibly more than we love ice cream, which is saying something! At the end of the episode we reveal the book not just for the next episode but the following episode as well to give you the chance to read along with us!

In this episode we discuss The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden and we take on baking Medovik, a type of Russian honey cake. This book is an epic tale of the old clashing with the new. We created a simple but good chocolate cake which is perfect for a romantic dinner at home or a way to impress your guests at your next dinner party.

This week we discuss Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot.  This is a fun, quick read and it includes several recipes in its pages.  We took a stab at our own version of Ginger Snaps, and tested out Mrs. Lopez's cookies as well!
