Success shame is one of the most invisible forces holding women back from wealth. When women hit big milestones, start making big money, or begin holding wealth at higher levels, something unexpected often happens, we shrink, minimize, or subconsciously sabotage our success. In this episode, I unpack where success shame comes from, why it exists, and how the subconscious programming behind it creates invisible glass ceilings in women's wealth.Tune in to learn:How to eliminate success shameThe unusual phenomenon that happens when women hit big milestones or start making big moneyWhere success shame comes from and why it occursThe sneaky subconscious programming that keeps invisible glass ceilings of wealth in place for women
So there I was… five miles from the runway at Stansted, flaps moving from 35 to 50 on an MD-11, when the airplane abruptly rolled to nearly 60 degrees of bank on short final. That's not a metaphor. That actually happened. In this episode of So There I Was, Fig and RePete sit down with Chubbs, a Guard fighter pilot turned FedEx check airman, for a master-class in aviation storytelling, decision-making, and pure “how did we survive that?” moments. From a flap literally departing the aircraft and landing between cars at a pub, to CRM failures so bad they ended careers, to Guard shenanigans involving stolen cars, helicopters, and a flattened Crown Vic — this one covers it all. Along the way, we dive into MD-11 systems quirks, high-stakes line checks, cargo ops into combat zones, fatigue, judgment calls on short final, and why sometimes the smartest move is to undo the last thing you did and land the airplane. Equal parts hilarious, terrifying, and educational — exactly how aviation stories should be told. … #AirlinePilotLifestyle #WhatIsIOEForPilots #AviationHumor

Editor - Michael P. Shawver Sinners editor Michael Shawver has enjoyed a long and productive relationship with his former USC classmate, director Ryan Coogler. Together the two have collaborated on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and now Sinners. Their past experience on both VFX-heavy films like Black Panther, as well as socio-political dramas like Fruitvale Station, would prove invaluable as they worked to blend the real horror of racial injustice with the fantastical horror of a vampire onslaught. Taking place in 1932, Sinners follows identical twins, and World War I veterans, Elijah "Smoke" and Elias "Stack" Moore as they return to Clarksdale, Mississippi after spending seven years in Chicago. Using money stolen from criminal syndicates, they purchase a sawmill from a landowner to start a juke joint for the local Black community. Their younger cousin Sammie, a singer and guitarist, joins them despite his pastor father's warnings about the sins of blues music. His warnings would prove prophetic, as the twins and their friends face foes both familiar and supernatural. MICHAEL P. SHAWVER Originally from Rhode Island, Sinners editor Michael Shawver developed an early working relationship with director Ryan Coogler during their time together at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Shawver initially edited Coogler's short film, Fig, and later went on to cut his feature debut, Fruitvale Station, starring Michael B. Jordan. The film garnered two of the Sundance Film Festival's top prizes, the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize, and went on to receive numerous awards and nominations at film festivals worldwide. Shawver also edited All Summers End, a debut feature film by director Kyle Wilamowski; Warren, by director Alex Beh; Tell, for director J.M.R. Luna; and Fourth Man Out, for Andrew Nackman. Shawver's next collaboration with Coogler and Jordan was Creed, for which he received a nomination for Best Editing in the Independent Critics Poll. Michael then reunited with Coogler and Jordan on Black Panther, a box office smash, which was nominated an outstanding 43 times, including for Best Picture at the Academy Awards and Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes. His work on this project also earned him a Saturn Award Nomination for Best Editing and an Alliance of Women Film Journalists Nomination for the Best Editing EDA Award. In addition, the film won Movie of the Year at the AFI Awards. Following Black Panther, Shawver edited A Quiet Place: Part II, directed by John Krasinski. He later returned to the Marvel universe for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, again collaborating with Coogler and Jordan. Shawver's recent work includes Abigail, a genre-bending thriller directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. He is currently editing The Thomas Crown Affair directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan. What really matters for markets in 2026—and why are most forecasts focused on the wrong metrics? Lance Roberts visits with Simplify Portfolio Manager & Chief Investment Strategist, Michael Green, CFA, to examine the structural changes inside today's markets that are reshaping price discovery, volatility, and risk. From the rise of passive investing and ETF dominance to the growing disconnect between fundamentals and flows, the mechanics of how markets trade have changed dramatically. We explore why small-cap and mid-cap stocks remain the most economically sensitive indicators, how ETFs can pull sellers higher during inflows—and why that dynamic reverses dangerously during outflows. We also examine declining market elasticity, the limitations of the Efficient Market Hypothesis, and why traditional analysis is increasingly ignored. Beyond markets, we connect these shifts to investor behavior, financial nihilism, generational risk-taking, and the unintended consequences of policy intervention. From the "Bank of Dad" to systemic fund imbalances, this discussion reframes what a useful market outlook should actually focus on heading into 2026. This is not a prediction. It is a framework for understanding risk, structure, and consequences. 0:00 INTRO 2:02 - Outlook for 2026 - What's the important metric? 6:22- Small-cap, Mid-cap stocks are most economically sensitive 8:32 - The importance of Understanding What You Own 11:09 - The Issue of ETF's - Dragging the Sellers higher 13:13 - The Theory of Passive Investing 15:16 - The Composition of Trading has Changed 17:52 - How to correct an over valued stock 19:25 - The Problem with Passive Investing - what happens when investors start selling indexed ETF's (the Bigger the Company, the LESS Elastic the Demand Response) 23:55 - The Efficient market Hypothesis 25:32 - What Makes for a Useful Market Forecast - The market Can't Crash?? 27:14 - Systemic Issues within the Market 31:14 - What Would Michael Green Do? 33:18 - The Death of Analysis & Fund Imbalances 37:13 - The Next Generation of Investors and Risk-taking 39:17 - The Poverty Line & Young Investors 43:34 - When the Government Gets Involved 46:04 - Making Choices - Luxuries vs Necessities 49:18 - Financial Education, Financial Stability, & Financial Choices: Financial Nihilism 53:16 - The Bank of Dad & Soft Society 1:00:58 - Actions Have Consequences 1:05:30 - How to Reach Michael Green 1:06:33 - The Problem with The Problem Hosted by RIA Advisors Chief Investment Strategist, Lance Roberts, CIO, w Simplify Portfolio Manager & Chief Investment Strategist, Michael Green, CFA Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- You can read Michael Green's blog, "Yes...I Give a Fig," here: https://www.yesigiveafig.com/ ------- Watch Today's Full Video on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQSiR6fxLGg&list=PLVT8LcWPeAuhi47sn298HrsWYwmg8MV7d&index=1 ------- Watch our previous show, "Social Security Reform: Expansion or Cuts?" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQSiR6fxLGg&list=PLVT8LcWPeAuhi47sn298HrsWYwmg8MV7d&index=1 -------- The latest installment of our new feature, Before the Bell, "Market Rotation Is Broadening — But Risks Remain," is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS2mSWm16qg&list=PLwNgo56zE4RAbkqxgdj-8GOvjZTp9_Zlz&index=1 ------- Get more info & commentary: https://realinvestm entadvice.com/newsletter/ -------- SUBSCRIBE to The Real Investment Show here: http://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealInvestmentShow -------- Visit our Site: https://www.realinvestmentadvice.com Contact Us: 1-855-RIA-PLAN -------- Subscribe to SimpleVisor: https://www.simplevisor.com/register-new -------- Connect with us on social: https://twitter.com/RealInvAdvice https://twitter.com/LanceRoberts https://www.facebook.com/RealInvestmentAdvice/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/realinvestmentadvice/ #MarketOutlook2026 #PassiveInvesting #ETFMarketStructure #FinancialNihilism #MarketRisk #MichaelGreen

In this episode of So There I Was, Fig and RePete are joined by Kemo and they sit down with two air traffic controllers to talk about what pilots never see — and rarely understand — on the other side of the mic. From go-arounds that mean “you're not trying hard enough,” to near-miss moments that make an entire tower pucker, this conversation pulls back the curtain on how airspace actually gets managed. Along the way, we dig into controller training timelines that rival military pipelines, staffing shortages that stretch patience and margins, and what it's like working a shutdown while still moving metal safely. Then things go sideways — canceled takeoffs for iguanas on the runway, Brasher warnings explained, and stories that absolutely did not make it into the AIM. It's equal parts aviation reality check, dark humor, and behind-the-scenes storytelling — and once you hear it, you'll never hear ATC the same way again. This episode dives into air traffic control stories, control tower moments, pilot experiences, aviation storytelling, flight safety discussions, and behind-the-scenes ATC perspectives. … #AirTrafficControl #AviationPodcast #SoThereIWas

New Year's Eve, no guest, and somehow the cockpit still turns into a full-blown sitcom. Fig & RePete kick off with a takeoff that goes sideways at V1 when “rotate” gets called… and apparently translated into “stare blankly into the void.” From there, it's the perfect hangout episode: Top Gun continuity crimes (medals disappear, sunglasses teleport), a hard pivot into the Air India 787 post-rotation dual-engine power-loss mystery (and why one explanation feels disturbingly too plausible), and a buffet of leadership horror stories that'll make you grateful for every normal human you've ever flown with. Plus: quiet professionals, jumpseat survival tactics, and one legendary “turn the checklist 90 degrees” power move that ends exactly how it should. Funny, sharp, and just unhinged enough to feel like the crew room after midnight.

The authors of the New Testament quoted the Greek version of the Old Testament. The version that Jesus used is unknown.(13:01) The Old Testament is not one book written by a single author. It is an anthology of books written over centuries by individuals. Later authors sometimes rejected and edited earlier authors. Remnants remain that multiple Gods participated in the creation. The first word in Genesis invites us to consider the Grand Pre-mortal Council.(20:03) The creation accounts address why the world was created, not how. The purpose of the earth is to create eternal families.(33:17) Ancient cultures shared the creation story at their temples during the New Year. The time-honored principle of marriage and family are connected to the purposes of creation.(36:21) Chaos played a role in the formation of the earth. God transformed unorganized matter into something beautiful. The cosmology of the Bible invites modern readers to think about scripture differently.(41:18) The temple takes us to the creation and the creation takes us to the temple because each us back to God.(48:25) Moses 2 and 3 can be read as a single account. This is contrasted with the documentary hypothesis, where scholars believe Genesis 1 and 2 come from two different sources because of differences in the text.(54:21) Seven eternal lessons in the creation account invite us to find success during our time on earth. Finding balance between work and rest.(1:00:29) Seek spiritual things first, then temporal.(1:01:50) Cherubim and a flaming sword foiled Satan's plan and preserved the space between the trees. God protected our probationary estate. Toxic perfectionism is addressed. Continual progression is what matters to God.(1:16:55) The river flowing out of Eden as a symbol for the division found in mortality. We must find ways to be unified.(1:23:08) Instead of focusing on what we are missing, our focus should be on all our blessings.(1:28:23) Pardes is an acronym to describe the ways of reading scripture: Peshat, remez, derash, and sod. The plain reading (peshat), allegorical or hidden reading (remez), the moral or imperative sense or application (derash), and the mystical, esoteric, or temple reading (sod).(1:30:13) The rib in Genesis 2.22 symbolizes partnership in marriage.(1:38:44) “Helper” or ʿēzer as found in Genesis 2.18 has often been misread and used to subjugate women. The term translated as “help meet” actually denotes the kind of powerful help that God gives. Eve's position next to Adam places both in a setting as having dominion over the whole earth. Eve is called “Zoe” in the LXX, the mother of all the living ones. There is no kingdom without Eve.(1:47:02) Fig leaves can represent covering our sins with bigger and bigger lies.(1:52:47) Garments are a piece of the temple that we wear to remind us of our connection to the Savior's atonement. → For more of Bryce Dunford’s podcast classes, click here. → Enroll in Institute → YouTube → Apple Podcasts → Spotify → Amazon Music → Facebook The post Ep 354 | Genesis 1-2; Moses 2-3; Abraham 4-5, Come Follow Me 2026 (January 12-18) appeared first on LDS Scripture Teachings.

This episode introduces FIG's brand-new Advisor Empowerment Series, a live, collegiate-style learning experience designed to give financial professionals deeper mastery of the topics that drive today's planning conversations. Nicholas Ross and Dave Henry also discuss FIG's highly praised playbooks- covering life insurance, annuities, long-term care, estate planning, and business owners- and explain how advisors are using them to spark better client conversations and uncover new opportunities. Then, they reveal the four upcoming course tracks for 2026: business owner planning, life insurance training, succession planning, and differentiation strategies. Here's some of what we discuss in this episode:
In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Sarah Frampton, who conducts research on, amongst other things, improving how we teach, learn, and organize information using behavior-analytic strategies. We explore her career journey, her research on graphic organizers and the Cover, Copy, Compare (CCC) strategy, and the broader implications for stimulus equivalence, educational technology, and effective teaching. In This Episode, You'll Learn: How Sarah's unconventional path led her from economics and psychology into Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Why note-taking and structured learning strategies, like CCC, matter for retaining and applying complex information. How stimulus equivalence principles can enhance learning beyond direct instruction. Insights from Sarah's research combining CCC with graphic organizers, including practical takeaways for educators and learners (see Frampton, Vesely and Jackson, 2025). How visual learning tools and educational technology can improve engagement and retention. Strategies for training learners to use these approaches independently and effectively. Highlights From Our Conversation: Sarah's Path Into ABA Sarah shares how a thesis requirement and a Craigslist job posting led her to ABA, including formative experiences working with Dr. Alice Shillingsburg at the Marcus Autism Center. These experiences sparked her interest in efficient, broadly applicable learning strategies. Why Note-Taking Strategies Matter We discuss the value of graphic organizers and the Cover, Copy, Compare (CCC) strategy: Graphic organizers visually display relationships between concepts. CCC is a structured, active-response method that strengthens memory, similar to flashcards. Sarah emphasizes how behavior-analytic techniques can support higher-order thinking processes often considered "cognitive." CCC and Stimulus Equivalence Sarah walks through stimulus equivalence with clear examples, showing how teaching certain relations can produce broader learning without direct instruction. She also highlights a study where CCC and graphic organizers helped learners prepare for tests—even under intentionally challenging conditions. Graphic Organizers in Action Key findings from Sarah's research: Learners who drew more structured organizers performed better. Teaching organizer use during test conditions did not hinder performance. Visualizing relationships among stimuli predicted task success. Training Learners to Use These Strategies Sarah outlines her training sequence, including pre-tests, video instruction, practice with familiar material, and application to abstract stimuli. A core goal was strategy generalization—ensuring learners could apply CCC to new material independently. Fig. 1 from Frampton, et al. (2025) Fig. 2 from Frampton, et al. (2025) Research Findings Most participants quickly mastered abstract relations and passed post-tests after brief training. Notably, all participants used the CCC strategy—some even more meticulously than required. Educational Technology, Engagement, and Mediation Participants reported the educational technology intervention was easy to use and helpful, contrasting with high dropout rates in similar studies. Sarah also describes how participants naturally used private verbal behavior, such as naming stimuli or creating stories, to aid learning. Visual Learning Tools in ABA We discuss the broader application of visual supports—graphic organizers, flashcards, handwriting—and their role in enhancing learning efficiency for both adults and children with autism. Looking Ahead Sarah previews her upcoming presentation at the Verbal Behavior Conference, covering generative learning and assessment tools. We also explore how collaboration and community can reduce burnout and increase long-term job satisfaction in ABA in the "advice for the newly-minted" segment.
