Join Me for the 12-Day Homeschool Mom Self-Care Challenge A homeschool mom self-care challenge that honours you. Homeschool mama, I see you. December is here, and it feels like an avalanche of ALL the things.Every month as a homeschool mom is full, but December? It's a whole new level. You're trying to finish things up, or you’re moving into a unit study on Christmas, you’re purchasing, prepping, planning, and playing—and you just added a part time-job to your full-time job. But as a homeschool mama, when December rolls around, mama ain’t looking after herself, she’s looking, after ALL the things. And though ALL the things are a whole lot of things EVERY other month, December’s ALL the things is an exponential set of things. Though you’re trying to do all the things, fulfill the expectations, and make it magical for your kids, you can’t do a little bit more if you didn’t already incorporate an approach to maintain margins and pursue purposeful living. That's why I'm inviting you to join me for the 12-Day Self-Care Challenge for Homeschool Moms. This isn't another TO DO list. It's a TO GIVE list—a way to give back to yourself. Join the 12 Day Self-Care Challenge Why Self-Care Matters As homeschool moms, we have a unique calling. We're deeply present with our kids, invested in their well-being, and working hard to create meaningful memories and learning experiences. We savor moments of: Watching our kids harmoniously play together (sometimes). Cheering them on as they tackle new challenges. Seeing their excitement as they pursue new interests. Building lifelong memories as a family. But there's another side to this season: The constant stream of emotions (theirs and ours). Sibling squabbles. Complaints and meltdowns. And, of course, the never-ending mundane tasks—laundry, dishes, meals, and errands. Even when we handle these challenges with grace, the emotional and mental investment is enormous. Add the holidays to the mix, and it's no wonder we feel stretched thin. The Secret Ingredient to a (more) Peaceful Holiday Season Here's the thing: you matter too. Your well-being is not just an afterthought—it's the foundation of a happy family life and a peaceful holiday season. Self-care: Refills your energy so you can approach the holidays with calm and joy. Models healthy balance and boundaries for your children. Helps you manage stress and let go of perfection. Strengthens your emotional resilience to handle challenges with patience and grace. Creates space for joy and presence, helping you savor the small, magical moments. When you care for yourself, you're giving your family the best gift of all—a peaceful, grounded, and joyful mama. What You'll Get in the 12-Day Challenge In just fifteen minutes a day—maybe even five—you'll explore simple, practical self-care strategies that fit into your busy December. These strategies aren't just for the holidays; they're tools to carry into the new year, helping you nurture yourself and your family with greater ease and satisfaction. By the end of these 12 days, you'll feel: More energized. More connected to yourself. And more at peace as you move through this beautiful, busy season. And so we must take care of ourselves. Join the 12 Days of Homeschool Mom Self-Care Challenge Join Me—You Deserve This So, homeschool mama, this is your invitation to take a breath, step back, and remember that you are worth nurturing. Let's do this together. This December, give yourself the gift of care, calm, and connection. Join the 12-Day Self-Care Challenge for Homeschool Moms and rediscover the joy of the season—not just for your family, but for you too. Just fifteen minutes a day. You've got this. LCP host Cody Cook welcomes Dr. Gary Chartier to discuss his book, Christianity and the Nation-State. Chartier, Distinguished Professor of Law and Business Ethics and Associate Dean of the Zapara School of Business at La Sierra University, challenges Christian nationalism and state authority, advocating for a pluralist, consensual political order rooted in radical consociationalism. He critiques both nationalist and center-left establishment views, proposing a society of overlapping voluntary networks rather than our current system of territorial monopolies on force. Drawing from medieval Europe's fragmented authority, he envisions a libertarian society where diverse, overlapping identities can thrive without coercive state power. Chartier emphasizes cosmopolitanism–rejecting homogeneity while affirming equal moral standing–and argues that liberty fosters human flourishing without undermining Christian values. This thought-provoking conversation blends theology, ethics, and politics, offering fresh insights into how Christians can engage society without ruling it. Tune in to explore Chartier's compelling vision for a freer, more diverse world—available at GaryChartier.net or wherever fine books are sold!Books by Gary Chartier discussed in this episode:Christianity and the Nation-StateThe Conscience of an AnarchistLoving CreationThe Analogy of LoveAudio Production by Podsworth Media - https://podsworth.com Use code LCI50 for 50% off your first order at Podsworth.com to clean up your voice recordings and also support LCI!Full Podsworth Ad Read BEFORE & AFTER processing:https://youtu.be/vbsOEODpQGs ★ Support this podcast ★

Today on Shift Break we will be talking about when to break the rules you make in your shop, when not to, and why it is critical to delivering on great hospitality to be flexible in how you operate. Welcome to another episode of the Cookbook Love Podcast. Today on the Cookbook Love Podcast, I'm sharing what I call the hidden beginning of publishing. Over the years, we've talked a lot about the types of publishing — self, traditional, and hybrid — and we've heard from hundreds of authors who've chosen each of those paths. But behind the scenes, there's another part of the publishing journey we rarely talk about: the inner life of a cookbook author, and that's what we're going to talk about today. Publishing isn't just about producing a book. It's about letting the love you already live with spill over into something permanent, dignified, and shareable. In this heart-centered episode of the Equipping ELLs podcast, Beth Vaucher dives into one of the most overlooked yet powerful strategies for supporting English Language Learners (ELLs): intentional connection. As the new school year begins, Beth emphasizes the importance of creating an environment where students feel seen, valued, and confident from the very first day. Instead of focusing solely on academic prep, she encourages educators to prioritize building authentic relationships that set the foundation for long-term success.Beth walks listeners through five proven strategies for establishing intentional connection, starting with the vital act of pronouncing students' names correctly, a simple but impactful gesture that validates identity. She discusses how to offer choice in sharing, acknowledging that newcomers may not be ready to open up about their backgrounds right away. Through flexible, low-pressure activities like “Would You Rather” games, teachers can gently encourage participation without overwhelming students. The episode also explores how to use culturally relevant materials, from books and visuals to classroom decor, to affirm students' diverse identities. Beth shares how daily routines and rituals, like consistent greetings and check-ins, help build predictability and trust. Most importantly, she highlights the value of celebrating multilingualism through classroom labels, bilingual books, and encouraging students to share in their home language.Listeners will walk away with practical tools, including free resources like multilingual labels and access to an upcoming webinar on setting up routines. Beth also challenges teachers to think beyond their classrooms, how can they help their entire school become a welcoming place for ELLs? On today's episode, Luis discusses the connection between movement and glucose.Movement and modern, industrialized food now lack a reciprocity. Movement is required for gathering and processing food; movement that many of us no longer need to perform in order to access calorically dense food.Refined foods can often cause a glucose spike, which is followed by an insulin response, and then an adrenal response. When muscles are engaged after eating, it helps with your glucose storage, and can minimize your insulin response.Luis suggests some tips on how to integrate exercise sustainably into your life.Youn can find the article Luis references here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38629807/You can read more about, and register for, the 6-month Embodied Nutrition group here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/slow-practice-nutrition-group----You can learn more on the website: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/ Learn more about the self-led course here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/self-led-new Join the waitlist to pre-order Luis' book here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/the-book You can follow Luis on Instagram @holistic.life.navigationQuestions?
