Heroes Of Project Earth stands for the HOPE we can spread through inspirational stories. These are real life heroes and their stories that have led them down their currents paths. I interview different Heroes from all walks of life and try to find out what it really means to be a Hero!
Lemus UG is from Uganda and formed Change Lives Africa. He grew up with no parents on the street. He was fortunate enough to survive and life taught him a valuable lesson, help others. He has now dedicated his life to helping the less fortunate and opened up his own orphanage that has 16 kids. However at meal times there are sometimes up to 50 kids that he provides food for. Sadly over the last couple weeks two kids passed away because they needed medical attention he could not provide and currently Lemus battles Typhoid Fever and is on struggling to survive. Janet Lamb created her own center for Sukiyo Mahikari the first meditation group/practice that has been recognized by the UN. She describes what Sukiyo Mahikari is all about and her own struggles and enlightenment in her life. She explains how this very inclusive group spreads happiness and love to all types of people.
Wendy spent countless hours helping her son create Peace One Day which is now an organization that has helped millions of people around the world. She tells her story of the hardships they faced in the beginning and the difficulties they have now. She explains what Peace One Day is and how it can help so many in this world.
Hannah has created a concept of helping kids with trauma called The Urban Lotus Project and is a brilliant concept to give kids the tools needed for life hardships. It is a yoga practice but also a mentor ship and safe place of comfort. She teaches breathing exercises to deal with trauma and kids learn the skills to cope with problems in their life. Tom Stelly transformed a piece of land that once was filled with burnt sawdust into a beautiful permaculture haven. He didn't stop there, once the property had transformed he then invited people old and young to live as a community with a dance hall being the epicentre of this beautiful paradise. He describes the hardships of converting this piece of land and interesting concepts about land human relationships.
Laurie helps people with music and dance. She even gets people with dementia to join in drum circles and come back alive. Her experiences in life has given her the ability to bring out the youthfulness in nearly anyone. Her strong desire to help people become who they want to become is very inspiring. Brenda talks about how Bicycles for humanity came to be and how it started as a one time event. It has now progressed into hundreds of chapters around the world contributing bikes to people in need all over the planet. She talks about how simple the idea is yet it builds an entire circular economy around the sustainable bike charity they have grown.
Tim Fryatt is the director of the fruit tree project and goes into detail how his life his changed through the project and he now views cities and food from a different point of view. The Fruit Tree Project redistributes fruit from homeowners to people in need and back into the community. It's home base in in Victoria, BC but other cities have started to follow suit and are bringing delicious fruit to thousands of people.
Terry Edison-Brown had a traumatic childhood and was facing death from drug and alcohol abuse. He worked hard to completely change his life and is now the director of the very safe house that helped him out. He talks about his journey with addiction and how we can help those that are in their darkest moments.
