What if the hardest chapter of your life became the foundation of your purpose? In this powerful and deeply human episode of Achieving Success with Olivia Atkin, justice reform advocate Louis L. Reed shares how he transformed 14 years of incarceration into a life of impact, leadership, and influence. From the moment he realized his sentence didn't have to be his story, Louis began redefining success not by income or accolades, but by alignment, faith, and the change he could spark in others. Through vivid storytelling and lived wisdom, he reveals the lessons learned in “the white space” between the lines those unseen moments of resilience that shape who we become.Olivia and Louis explore what true freedom really means, why your story is your greatest superpower, and how to move from seeking a seat at the table to building your own. This conversation challenges you to look beyond the highlight reel, confront your own “white space,” and remember that every setback holds the seed of purpose. If you've ever questioned your path or doubted your power, this episode will reignite your belief in second chances and remind you that redemption isn't a destination, it's a daily practice.Want to start your own podcast, grow your show, or get featured as a guest? Let's map it out together. This potential deal, however, requires further approval before becoming law. The shutdown has severely affected 42 million Americans reliant on SNAP benefits, unpaid federal employees, and air travelers facing delays. In Brooklyn, firefighter Patrick Brady tragically died of cardiac arrest while on duty, marking the second FDNY line-of-duty death in two weeks. Additionally, Sid discusses the political climate surrounding Governor Kathy Hochul, and her perceived shortcomings after Republican Elise Stefanik last week announced her run for Governor against Hochul next year. Sid also highlights President Trump's pardon of former baseball player Darryl Strawberry for tax evasion and offers insight into an NFL halftime ceremony honoring military service, where President Trump also provided commentary on the game from the broadcast booth. Lastly, Sid honors the U.S. Marine Corps for their 250 years of service. Death tapped him on the shoulder, and Colt Ford answered with grit, gratitude, and a different kind of fire. We sit down with Colt for a raw, unguarded conversation about walking off a Phoenix stage and straight into two heart attacks, waking from an eight-day coma with no memory, and learning to stand again—physically and mentally. What follows is a story about perspective, brotherhood, and the stubborn power of music to pull someone back to life.We dig into the origin story of Dirt Road Anthem and how that song, first on Colt's record and later cut by Jason Aldean, didn't just top charts—it shifted the country landscape. Colt explains the creative risk, the early Nashville resistance, and why starting Average Joes was the only way to get the music out. He shares how millions of sales came without a traditional chart run, why moving the needle matters more than a statistic, and how a single song can become a cultural fuse. There's joy here too—golf tales from pro tours to Pebble Beach, the nerve damage that might cost his right leg, and the way he's already game-planning around it. The Vince Gill golf legend gets its due, equal parts respect and hilarity. Most of all, we celebrate the brotherhood that carried him: Brantley Gilbert getting family to his bedside, pushing for life-saving care, then hauling Colt's mic onstage every night until he could take it back himself. That mid-set spotlight became a lifeline and a promise. If you're here for country music history, songwriting craft, comeback stories, or just need a dose of real talk about what matters, you'll feel this one. Plus, we dove into the goaltending crisis in the NHL and kicked off a brand new “what if” segment—starting with, what if Derek Jeter never became a Yankee? It didn't have to happen. Seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro should still be alive — but the system that was supposed to protect him chose mercy over logic. In this episode of Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski, we pull apart the case of Jake Haro — the California father who once cried on camera for his “kidnapped” baby and is now serving at least 30 years in prison for killing him. What makes this story unbearable is how preventable it was. Years earlier, Jake Haro was convicted of nearly killing his infant daughter — leaving her permanently disabled and bedridden with cerebral palsy. Yet instead of a lifetime ban from fatherhood or meaningful prison time, he was handed probation, therapy, and a clean slate. The result? A new baby. Another victim. Another grave. Tony exposes the systemic rot that let this happen — judges obsessed with “second chances,” probation officers drowning in caseloads, child-protection agencies paralyzed by paperwork, and a justice system that treats redemption as more sacred than a child's safety. This isn't about one family. It's about every institution that keeps gambling on compassion at the expense of children's lives.

On this first-Monday “Testimony” episode of Fed by the Fruit, host KB welcomes her longtime friend Bre, whose story traces a tender faith journey from doubt to daily dependence on God. Bre shares how a sudden Holy Spirit nudge moved her from “someday” to the mic, and how years of quiet questions (“Am I Christian enough?”) gave way to simple, honest prayers and unmistakable “God winks.” She opens up about guiding a neighbor's foster-care graduate through nine hard months under her roof, learning that what God asked of her wasn't control, but mothering love and release.Bre also recounts a devastating garage fire that forced her family to let go of nearly everything—only to discover freedom, clarity, and a fresh start. From non-denominational worship that finally “clicked,” to a plaque reading “Forgiven” (John 1:9) resurfacing at just the right moment, Bre's testimony is a reminder that God is present in every detail. If you've ever felt unqualified, burned out, or buried by stuff—spiritual or literal—this conversation will help you surrender what no longer serves you and step into the peace of being fully known and fully forgiven. This episode serves as both an informative guide to embrace a healthier, more balanced lifestyle, encouraging listeners to embark on their journeys with renewed vigor and compassion.Reach out to KB on Instagram and share your thoughts.

Paul Persecuting to Proclaiming | His Word, His Plan, His People How does someone go from violently opposing Christianity to becoming one of its greatest ambassadors? This week, we walk through the story of Saul's radical transformation in Acts 9. We explore the divine contact that stopped him in his tracks, the deep conviction that followed, and the clear commission that launched his ministry. Saul's story is a reminder that no one is too far from God's reach—and that obedience often begins with simply taking the next step. Key Insights: 1. God initiates transformation even when we're not seeking Him. 2. Conviction isn't just guilt, it's clarity. 3. Surrender is the start of purpose. 4. Your past doesn't disqualify you from being used by God. 5. God often gives clarity after we move. Key Scripture: Acts 9 (https://www.bible.com/bible/59/ACT.9.ESV) Speaker: Matt Petty Series: His Word, His Plan, His People Location: Burnt Hickory Baptist Church (https://maps.app.goo.gl/hazkR3omjk9xvxZc7) Connect with us: ° Watch this sermon on YouTube (https://youtu.be/TokOT6NyoX0) ° Follow us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/bhbchome) ° Follow us on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/burnthickorybaptist/) ° Visit our website (https://www.burnthickory.com/)

One of the most famous radio shows. The Mercury Theater of the Air, originally broadcast October 30, 1938, 87 years ago.  A modernized adaptation of HG Wells War of the Worlds.  The show was styled as a series of live news bulletins describing a Martian invasion of Earth. Though announced as fiction, the realistic format caused panic among some listeners who believed the invasion was real. The broadcast became one of the most famous moments in radio history and a defining example of the medium's power.Next, a rare recording of author HG Wells discussing the broadcast with Orson Welles from October 28, 1940, on KTSA Radio in San Antonio, Texas.  The meeting occurred while both men were in the city for separate lecture engagements—Wells was addressing the United States Brewers Association, and Welles was preparing for a town hall forum. We close out the show with an episode of Theater Five, originally broadcast October 30, 1964, 61 years ago, The Second Chance.  A middle-aged man discovers the secret of growing backwards...getting younger every year!
