Bism Allah r-Raḥmān ar-Raḥīm means "In the Name of Allah, The Universally Compassionate, the One Who bestows special Mercy." It is the beginning mark (áyah) [or verse] of every sūrah [chapter] in the Holy Qurán. A Muslim Mystic' once said: "The dot under the letter bā' of the word "bism" [in the Name] contains the hidden knowledge of the whole Qurán!"
