National Indigenous Peoples Month in Canada pays tribute to Kateri Tekakwitha (1656-80). At age 19, after converting to Catholicism and taking a vow of perpetual virginity, Kateri left her Mohawk village of Ossernenon in present-day New York State and moved to the Jesuit mission village of Kahnawake, just south of Montreal, Canada. There she died five years later, respected for her piety and good works. She was beatified in 1980 by Pope John Paul II, and canonized as a Saint by Pope Benedict XVI at St. Peter's Basilica in 2012. Miracles Collapse Time After David presented the documentary about a poor boy who became a successful entrepreneur, it sparked profound questions among the participants in the online “The Way” session. While it's easy to accept the script when everything goes according to plan, how do we handle situations that seem to have negative outcomes? David addressed this by emphasizing that the problem lies in our judgment of situations, not in any specific worldly circumstance, regardless of whether people perceive them as positive or negative. As Jesus taught us in ACIM, everything happens for the greater good, without exception. When we judge something negatively, it may seem like God wants us to suffer, but this couldn't be further from the truth. God's will for us is perfect happiness, which can only be achieved when we have forgiven the past, forgiven the present, and forgiven the future. Miracles can help us transcend the limitations of time. Other participants inquired about how to navigate this world of illusions while fulfilling their personal needs. David explained that our belief in reciprocity creates the illusion that giving and receiving are opposite actions. In reality, they are the same because we are all interconnected, loved and protected as an idea in the mind of God. In Episode 167 of The Intentional Clinician podcast, Paul Krauss MA LPC interviews child psychiatrist Dr. Frank Putnam, MD about his groundbreaking assertion that prevention of child maltreatment is the single most powerful way to improve the mental and physical health of our nation. Putnam, MD, is a professor of clinical psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and an emeritus professor of pediatrics and child psychiatry at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He co-founded the pioneering Female Growth and Development Study (FGDS) in 1987 with the late Dr. Penelope K. Trickett, a longitudinal study that has followed female incest victims and comparison groups across three generations for over 35 years. So, in this month's episode, the Mystics chat with Dorcas Griffin and reflect on the intentional work of increasing both spiritual and human maturity as many of us move through different seasons of life and growth. One of the areas we're exploring together is strengthening our ability to apologize well when we've hurt someone — and, honestly, learning the ways not to apologize. Too often, we can focus on our intentions or whether the other person “deserved” our response, and in doing so, our apologies can end up serving us more than the person we hurt. We're recognizing that sometimes the way we apologize can do more harm than good. This episode is a real “keeping it 100” conversation for us and for anyone in the Mystic community who might need a little encouragement to get it right.

He helped out with Calvary Chapel Cork for a few weeks of summer outreaches and intended on leaving, but the pastor asked him to stay on “for a little bit longer.” He stayed in Cork as a full-time missionary youth outreach coordinator/assistant for more than two years. In 2005 the pastor felt called by the Lord to go elsewhere (New Zealand) and asked if Mike and Rachel would consider staying on and taking over the church. I loved the freedoms and rituals of camp, the goofy, cool counselors who felt like visions of my potential future, and the cachet that accumulated with each passing summer. Camp was a place where I could be a different person, or at least a better, more likable one. I thought I was a camp person. But when I reached adulthood, I realized my camp-ness was nothing in comparison to the people whose families had dedicated their kids' summers to one camp... for decades. That's what Camp Mystic was — and still is — for thousands of former campers. So when a flash flood last July took the lives of 28 Mystic campers, questions about the future of the camp also became questions about the future of that identity. Christina comes to us two months out of a month-long holistic retreat where she cracked open in the most profound way. After more than twenty years in corporate, she walked away. She found her purpose in death doula work, holding space for families and those who are transitioning. And now she is standing in the messy middle, sourcing the tendrils of a new life as it is being woven. Her question is one so many of us carry: How do I trust this process when the outside world wants me to keep going and going and producing and proving my worth? What we discover together is that Christina's body doesn't want a to-do list. It doesn't want a plan or a schedule. It wants to be free form for a while and show her where it wants to go. For twenty years, she was speaking someone else's words, building something that belonged to somebody else, ratcheted down in survival mode, locked into the lower chakras of doing and producing. And then she took a hammer to that old structure, and now these tendrils of color and life are blooming out of what she cracked open. Her heart has come online. Her throat and third eye are lighting up. And her system just needs a moment to catch up. This episode is a beautiful invitation to honor all of it: the things we label good and the things we label bad, the things we like about this process but also so potently the things we don't. You can never not be on your path. The detours you take will reveal themselves as exactly what you needed for the moment you are now in. And the very nature of exploration means you are going to go the wrong way, get lost, and find brambles at the end of the trail. That is exploration. As you listen today, I invite you to find that settled place inside you (the one that lives beneath all the noise) and memorize it. Does it have a texture? A sensation? A color? This is your place of knowing. This is where you come back to when you forget what is true.
