In this episode, Dave once again shares at our Launch 25 gathering, this time focusing on the ‘soil' from which God births movements—the importance of movement values and our personal calling from God. Vision - where movements always start To begin, reflecting on movements seen in hard-to-reach areas, Dave invites an 81-year-old seasoned movement leader (unnamed for security reasons) to share his powerful experience of seeing over 40,000 churches planted across unreached regions of India. This unnamed movement leader highlights the first key characteristic of movement - a clear God-given vision. This vision begins with a personal encounter with God and the recognition that every aspect of life must be viewed from a kingdom perspective. Other movement values Dave then dives into the DNA of movements, such as rapid multiplication, leadership development, and the central role of prayer. Dave reflects on the example of David Watson in India, where movements started in historically unreached states, and how the Discovery Bible Study became a tool for leaders to explore God's word together. • Calling: Movements start with a personal call from God, as seen in the story of a leader in India who, after a deep personal encounter with God, saw over 100,000 churches planted through a group of men in a slum. • Team: Movements thrive when they work in teams, emphasising collaboration over individual leadership. • Multiplication: Rapid multiplication is key at all levels—churches, disciples, and leaders. • Prayer: Passionate, abundant prayer is foundational. Movements in India didn't break through until 100,000 people were praying for them. • Obedience-Driven Discipleship: Movements emphasise obedience to God's Word, which leads to personal and collective transformation. • Gift-Based Leadership: Leadership is function-based, not positional, empowering everyone to contribute according to their gifts. • Access Ministries: Creative approaches are used to access communities and meet needs in meaningful ways. The Three Worlds of Mission Dave breaks down the three primary worlds where mission takes place: 1. The Unreached World: Places like India, China, and Muslim regions where movements are taking root. 2. The Christian World: Countries like Uganda, PNG, and Russia, where resistance often comes from established church systems. 3. The Post-Christian World: Western nations (e.g. Europe, Australia), where mission work is harder due to secularism and cultural shifts. Three fundamental core values of movements 1. The Spirit: Movements are works of the Holy Spirit. We can't take credit for movements. It's all the Spirit turning up and working in people's lives. 2. The Word of God: The Word is number one. It isn't a commodity and we can't slice and dice it. Jesus himself is the Word and He spoke about it being planted in us (Parable of the Sower). We are transformed if we respond in obedience to God's Word. 3. Mission: If you follow Jesus, you're on mission. Jesus is God's mission and we find ourselves following him to the lost and broken. The DMM Wheel Dave shares about Pray, Go, Disciple and Multiply - what he calls the ‘DMM Wheel' which has been a helpful framework for walking out the essential values of movement. Personal Challenge Dave encourages us to examine our own hearts and consider the soil of our lives. How is God calling you, and what are the obstacles or distractions that may prevent you from following His call? The episode ends with a challenge to persevere in the race God has set before us, emphasising the importance of mentorship and being shaped by God's heart through prayer and obedience. May this talk encourage you to reflect on the deeper aspects of your heart as God invites us to join Him in bringing movements to life!

In July 1950, Avi Shlaim, only five, and his family were forced into exile, fleeing from their beloved Iraq into the new state of Israel. Now the rump of a once flourishing community of over 150,000, dating back 2,600 years, has dwindled to single figures. For many, this tells the story of the timeless clash of the Arab and Jewish civilisations, the heroic mission of Zionism to rescue Eastern Jews from their backwards nations, and unceasing persecution as the fate and history of Jewish people. Avi Shlaim tears up this script. His mother had many Muslim friends in Baghdad, but no Zionist ones. The Iraqi Jewish community, once celebrated for its ancient heritage and rich culture, was sprayed with DDT upon arrival in Israel. As anti-Semitism gathered pace in Iraq, the Zionist underground may have inflamed it - deliberately. Three Worlds: Memoirs of an Arab-Jew (Oneworld, 2024) celebrates the disappearing heritage of Arab-Jews - caught in the crossfire of secular ideologies. About the lecture: In December 1989, in officially recognizing the authenticity of the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact's secret protocol, the USSR Congress of People's Deputies evinced the hope that the globally divided historical consciousness of the Cold War would be replaced with a new conception of the past, reflecting “a whole and mutually interdependent world and increasing mutual understanding.” While there was cause for hope in the immediate post-Soviet years that such a “flat earth” of shared accounts of history—the foundation for a world of shared political values—would emerge, subsequent decades led to renewed, often weaponized fragmentation of historical vision across political borders, and especially at the border separating Europe from the Russian Federation. However, in distinction from the Cold War opposition of ideologically differentiated accounts of history, current standoffs relate to the application of the most basic terms—empire, nation, fascist, genocide, socialist, liberal—which are applied on both sides of borders and conflict zones, yet with opposed significance. Rather than a confrontation of historical ideologies, this is a standoff of historical ontologies. In this presentation of his recently published book "Border Conditions: Russian-Speaking Latvians Between World Orders", Platt will examine the etiology of this ontological conflict, as it emerges from the experience of a population that has been located since the end of the Cold War in the interstitial zone at the borders of Europe: Russian-speaking Latvians. Their world, riven by contradiction, offers a vantage, as through a keyhole, toward globally shared conditions of historical and political incoherence and conflict at the start of the twenty-first century. About the speaker: Kevin M. F. Platt is Professor of Russian and East European Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. His scholarly work focuses on Russian and East European culture, history, poetry, and fiction. He is author or editor of a number of scholarly books, among them "Terror and Greatness: Ivan and Peter as Russian Myths" (Cornell, 2011), "Global Russian Cultures" (Wisconsin, 2019), and, most recently, "Border Conditions: Russian-Speaking Latvians Between World Orders" (Cornell/NIUP, 2024). His translations of Russian and Latvian poetry have appeared in "World Literature Today:, "Jacket2", "Fence", and other journals. He is the founder and organizer of the poetry translation symposium Your Language My Ear. His current project is entitled “Cultural Arbitrage in the Age of Three Worlds.”

This is a video essay from this article originally published at Sola Ecclesia In this episode of the Plain Speech Podcast, Michael Clary discusses cultural engagement in modern times from a pastoral perspective. Over the past decade, pastors have faced unprecedented moral and emotional challenges in their ministry environments. This episode discusses the 'three worlds of evangelicalism' as proposed by Aaron Renn, detailing how American society's perception of Christianity has shifted from positive, to neutral, to negative. The script provides a detailed analysis of the challenges pastors face today and suggests two approaches: appeasement or engagement, emphasizing the importance of courage and biblical fidelity in a hostile cultural climate. It also offers practical advice for pastors on how to effectively lead their congregations in these turbulent times. 00:00 Introduction: Navigating Modern Ministry Challenges 00:24 The Three Worlds of Evangelicalism 01:02 The Shift to a Negative World 01:45 Pastoral Realities in the Negative World 02:55 The Influence of Social Media on Christian Thought 03:51 Recognizing Cultural Shifts in Congregations 05:20 The Dilemma of Addressing Controversial Issues 09:01 Strategies for Faithful Pastoral Leadership 15:36 Counting the Cost of Engagement 20:10 Conclusion: Encouragement for Faithful Shepherds

On Episode 73 of the Daebak K-Rambles Podcast, the Drama Trio is on deck! Jess is joined by friends Caitlin from NoSleep4Dramas Blog & Podcast and Liliana from the Tea & Soju Podcast to review Eternal Love of Dream (aka Three Lives, Three Worlds, The Pillow Book), starring Dilraba Dilmurat and Vengo Gao. Jumping straight into spoilers, Jess, Caitlin, and Liliana talk through this ultimately disappointing 2020 sequel to Eternal Love (aka Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms). After coming together to review the original Eternal Love on the Tea & Soju Podcast, the trio have trouble doling out praise in this much-anticipated watch, discussing the rampant pacing issues, confusing retcons from the first show, the displaced timelines in comparison to the source novel, the lack of character development, (sadly) annoying portrayal of our lovesick fox, and more frustrating writing that overshadowed the acting and chemistry from these beloved leads. Shaman & Medical Anthropologist, Dr Alberto Villoldo joins the podcast to reveal the great Inka Prophecy: Pachakuti, the emergence of new humans, and the global transformation taking place this year. The Indigenous seers foretold a potential mass extinction for humanity unless we make radical changes. By his mid-20s Alberto Villoldo was the youngest clinical professor at San Francisco State University. He was directing his own laboratory, the Biological Self-Regulation Lab, investigating how energy medicine and visualization could change the chemistry of the brain. Anthropological stories hinted that there were people around the globe who claimed to know such things, including the Inka in Peru, the few remaining "shamans" in today's modern civilization. Over two decades with the shamans in the jungles and high mountains of the Andes, Alberto Villoldo would discover that we are more than flesh and bone, that we are absolutely fashioned of Spirit and light. He is the founder of The Four Winds Society, which bridges ancient wisdom teaching with cutting-edge neuroscience to teach us how to bring about the life and health we have dreamed of. Welcome back to Higher Density Living. This episode delves into the mysteries surrounding ancient sacred sites could be remnants of a forgotten worldwide civilization hosted by Jason Rigby. We are joined by special guest Camille Sauvé, she is known for her exploration in the fascinating work of Peruvian researcher Alfredo Gamarra, known for identifying three distinct architectural styles representing three ancient world ages. By connecting these styles to sacred sites globally, Sauvé paints a picture of an advanced culture that once spanned the earth. Combining insights from famous clairvoyants and modern scientific research, "The Sorcerers of Stone" reveals that many of these sacred sites are far older than previously believed. These monoliths feature perfectly carved terraces, massive steps, and intricate underground grottos, often with characteristics that defy scientific explanation. Sauvé discusses how these structures, revered by subsequent civilizations, might have been constructed using sophisticated techniques like acoustic levitation and ancient geopolymers. She also explores their placement on earth's power spots and their significant piezoelectric properties due to high quartz and silica content. Sauvé introduced a wide range of concepts and ideas helpful to make sense of the mysteries surrounding the theories behind these peculiar structures. The book entails the mysteries of ancient architecture and forgotten civilizations. This captivating work explores the concept of a long-lost global culture through the lens of three distinct architectural styles found in sacred sites worldwide, each representing different world ages. Sauvé delves into the Cosmogony of the Three Worlds, examining how these three distinct styles reflect unique cultural epochs and are tied to the Expanding Earth Timeline. The book provides an in-depth analysis of the advanced science behind these ancient stone constructions. It explores whether techniques like Acoustic Levitation and the use of Geopolymers were employed to move and shape these massive monoliths. Additionally, Sauvé investigates the potential use of Vitrification in these structures and the intriguing role of sound in healing and sacred rites, particularly within Initiation Chambers designed to induce altered states. She also mentions Rending the Veil: Visions from the Akashic, drawing upon the insights of clairvoyants like Rudolf Steiner, Madame Blavatsky, and Subramuniya, who accessed ancient knowledge through the Akashic records. This section provides a unique perspective on the spiritual and esoteric significance of these ancient sites and the cultures that built them. Finally, Sauvé reexamines our historical narrative, presenting Stone Oddities and Tales of Lost Worlds that challenge conventional archaeology. She highlights examples of Hanan and Uran Pacha sites around the globe, offering compelling evidence of their existence and significance. By weaving together these diverse threads, the book invites readers to reconsider our understanding of history and the remarkable achievements of early human civilizations. And that's what we're going to get in today. Sauvé delves deep into their technical sophistication, their potential uses, and the burning question, this mystery that we've all wanted to know. It's who created these awe-inspiring structures. When visiting Peru, especially around Cusco and Sacsayhuaman, you notice three distinct styles of stonework. The earliest style, known as huaca, often appears as if fingerprints have pressed into the stone, forming canals and various shapes. The official narrative attributes this to stone, bronze, or copper tools, but this explanation seems insufficient given the hardness of the metamorphosed limestone. Today, it might have been a geopolymer, which hardens over time, and its chemical composition includes limestone. From extensive observations, it's clear these forms likely resulted from press forms and seats in a different state, rather than being carved with bronze or copper tools, which would be too soft. The precise 90-degree angles and fine grooves suggest advanced techniques beyond the Inca Empire's capabilities. These constructions, found throughout Peru, hint at an advanced, possibly worldwide civilization. It's fascinating how mysterious megalithic sites appear in Japan, China, Italy, and more, suggesting a widespread ancient civilization. The timeline, explored through the Akashic records by figures like Rudolf Steiner, Madame Blavatsky, and Edgar Cayce, provides insights. Steiner described environments from the Lemurian time with huge fern trees, a hot climate, and larger mammals and reptiles. The Lemurians, masters of stonework, lived on a much warmer, less dense planet, which facilitated their ability to form stone. Accounts from Spanish chroniclers reveal that the Inca themselves claimed to have discovered these sites, not built them. Locals chronicle the structures predated their ancestors, attributing them to a god called Wiracocha. When the Spanish arrived in Peru, they encountered advanced constructions like the walls at Sacsayhuaman and attributed them to sorcerers, as they couldn't fathom how the locals could have built them with their tools. This was recorded by chroniclers who asked the locals about the builders, and they often pointed to Wiracocha, a god believed to have created many significant sites. Oral traditions and local knowledge continue to play a vital role in understanding these sites. Many guides and locals still speak of Wiracocha, who is said to have taught humanity how to cultivate crops, build structures, and essentially civilize them. Some legends even suggest that these advanced beings came from underground or another galaxy, with Lake Titicaca as a central base. The concept of the planet being smaller and less dense, as described by Jesus and Alfredo Gamarra through dreams and meditations, aligns with the idea of an Earth that expanded over time. This smaller Earth, referred to as the Golden Age, might date back around 200 million years, a time when proto-humanity existed in a more gaseous state before crystallizing. Such ideas, while far from mainstream scientific thought, resonate with theosophical teachings about early humanity. Personal experiences at these sites, such as a small cave near the Moon Temple complex, often involve intense energy and altered states of consciousness. These locations, considered sacred, might be built on geomagnetic lines, enhancing their mystical properties. Despite the lack of scientific acknowledgment in Peru, the concept of ceques or leylines is well-known, with 328 huacas found along these lines radiating from the sun temple in Cusco. Megalithic sites worldwide were constructed with materials like quartz-rich stone, which, combined with electromagnetic energies, can create altered states of consciousness. These sites, built with a deep understanding of earth energies, were likely intended for more than just primitive worship. The precise and advanced nature of the construction suggests a civilization with profound knowledge of how to harness these energies for the benefit of humanity. Certain sites, such as Qenko, appear to have been used for initiation rituals, where candidates would undergo transformative experiences, potentially involving psychoactive substances, to learn about the non-physical aspects of reality. These initiatory journeys, often aligned with celestial events like Venus rising, indicate a sophisticated understanding of both the physical and metaphysical worlds. The advanced stonework and the profound energy of these sites point to an ancient civilization with a deep understanding of earth energies and consciousness. While more scientific research is needed, especially in Peru, to fully understand these sites, they undeniably hold keys to our past and offer insights into the advanced capabilities of ancient civilizations. About the Guest: Camille M. Sauvé is an independent journalist, photographer, graphic designer, and author living in the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru. When people compare financial firms, they often focus on getting the best return on their investments. While that's certainly important, what they really need to be paying attention to is the big picture. While many firms focus only on investment management- handling stocks, bonds, and mutual funds- our approach extends to include insurance planning, investment strategy, legacy planning, and tax planning. In this week's episode of Money Wisdom, Nicholas Colantuono, CFP®, joins us to talk about the role of tax planning in a comprehensive financial strategy. Here's some of what we discuss in this episode: The importance of comprehensive financial planning beyond investment management The three types of accounts from a tax perspective: taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free Strategies and pitfalls associated with each type of financial account Considerations for tax-efficient retirement planning, including the impact on income, Medicare premiums, and future tax rate changes Check out our other free financial resources here: https://johnsonbrunetti.com/financial-resources/ Contact our team: https://johnsonbrunetti.com/contact-us/

Ron Hogen Green, Sensei - ZMM - 5/23/24 - From The True Dharma Eye, Case 75 - Yantou's "Sit Still" - How do we respond to life's complications? Sitting in stillness is the simple practice, but in itself can become a hiding place. The Three Worlds—form, formlessness and desire—all arrive together at once, so how do we practice stillness in the midst of it all? Using a koan from Master Yantou, Hogen Sensei reminds us that true freedom, to let go and be totally alive to the suchness of this moment, is within our capacity to let go of fixed views about anything.
After an inspiring Awakin Call with Madhu Anziani last month, Reinaldo, Madhu and a few more heartful artists are coming back for a unique experiment -- A musical immersion into the three worlds of shamanic journey, through singing, chanting and drumming. About Three Worlds: As per Inca mythology, we inhabit three worlds simultaneously, and many other spiritual practices discuss the “middle path” in a similar way. These worlds are said to exist within us and all around us: Ukhupacha: the “lower world,” that of our unconscious and house of psychological wounds, ancestral baggage, past life influences, and as-yet-realized potential (snake energy) Kaypacha: the “middle world,” which might define the tapestry for our everyday experiences; the primal energy of this world is survival, but when balanced and secure, we can focus on mindfulness and present-moment awareness (puma power). Hanaqpacha: the “upper world,” also known as the world of our becoming, future potential, and possibilities; this may also be a link to where our destiny or purpose feels in alignment with our actions, as if we are “divinely inspired” (condor symbolism). Our hope is co-create a vibrational field for a deeper integration of the three worlds, within and without and we welcome you to join the experiment. Please note that this will be a 75-minute call, including some space for open-mic chants. About Reinaldo: Reinaldo Pamponet is a Brazilian social entrepreneur and an Ashoka fellow. After working with Microsoft for seven years in Sao Paulo, at the age of thirty, he founded “Eletrocooperativa” in 2004 in Salvador, an impoverished northeastern region of Brazil, to offer an innovative learning atmosphere to youth that better prepares them to be active members of society. After educating on themes related to sustainable development, they were challenged to engage their dormant creativity (like singing!) to produce digital multimedia content to drive social awareness, while also promoting their cultural arts and generating income. The project went viral and was later adopted by the government of Brazil. Building on that, he founded ItsNoon in 2009, a social network to connect people at opposite ends of the economic pyramid, helping those at the bottom earn income using digital technology. He’s recently moved to the United States with his wife and two children. Music has always been a integral part of Reinaldo’s life – spiritually, professionally and in community. He calls himself “a terrible musician, a good singer” and one who can play almost any instrument, with his favourite being Afro drums. About Madhu: Madhu is a gifted musician, composer, and sound healer. At the age of 23, a few months short of graduating with a degree in jazz and world music from San Francisco State University, a serious accident left him paralyzed from the neck down, incontinent, and unable to breathe on his own. From his hospital bed, he began to apply sound and energy healing practices, together with his family, discovering the true power of vibration to restore health. A few months later, he walked out of the hospital on his own two legs, an extraordinary healing journey featured in a book on energy medicine. Since his recovery, Madhu has been bringing harmony, vibration, and healing to the world as a vocal looping artist, hypnotherapist, sound healer, and ceremonialist. He is certified in sound, voice, and music from the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has also studied with elders and masters in multiple traditions, including the Pachakuti Mesa tradition of Ancestral Peruvian Healing Arts and Wisdom Healing Qigong. The many ancient languages in which he chants include Sanskrit, Tibetan, Shipibo, Quechua, and Hebrew. For his full bio and recent Awakin Call conversation/toning workshop, please click here. Navigating Differences and Fostering Unity among Christians in Today's Culture (feat. Chad Ragsdale and Daniel McCoy). In today's episode we continue the discussion on how Christians can navigate differences within their community and engage with the broader culture effectively. Today's episode explores the concept of postures versus gestures, emphasizing the need for biblical wisdom to discern when certain responses are appropriate. The discussion highlights the dangers of adopting rigid postures, like hostility or accommodation, as one's default position towards cultural issues and the importance of a balanced, thoughtful approach. Specific issues such as political courage, the transgender moment, and the porn industry are mentioned as examples requiring discernment. The speaker introduces the problems posed by 'Heresy Hunters' and 'Tower Topplers' within the church, individuals who create divisiveness by labeling others too quickly or attacking their beliefs. To combat these issues and foster unity, the presentation suggests focusing on faith, asking two key questions to understand others better, recognizing the importance of different levels of doctrinal importance, and thinking like a missionary to connect more effectively both within the church and with the outside world. The role of empathy, grace, and technology's impact on our ability to think well are also discussed as part of the broader challenge of maintaining Christian unity in a post-Christian culture. When you break it down to the most basic level, there are really three worlds of money that we utilize for financial planning: banking, insurance, and Wall Street. Each of these worlds has a distinct purpose and role in helping you prepare for retirement. Let's talk about the pros and cons of each and how we use them to design a portfolio. Here's some of what we'll discuss in this episode: The banking world is great for savings and low risk, but it limits your opportunity for growth. Why we don't look at insurance as an investment and what do we use this for. The Wall Street world involves risk but a proper portfolio gives you the best chance for growth. Eric Newman and Kate Wolf are joined by the author, editor, and co-founder of the New Narrative movement Robert Glück to discuss his latest book, About Ed. The book is a non-linear memoir (of sorts), parsing the life and death of Glück's lover, the artist Ed Auerlich-Sugai. The narrative moves promiscuously back and forth between the 1970s when Bob and Ed's relationship takes shape, to the 1980s when AIDS ravages the gay community and Ed is diagnosed with HIV, to Ed's death in 1994, and Bob's wrestling with the emotional aftermath of Ed's loss. Along the way, Glück captures the peaks and valleys of the relationship— tumultuous moments conjured in elegiac reveries—as well as the everyday objects by which the world of a deeply intimate history continues into the present. About Ed forces us to confront what we know and don't know about those loved ones who indelibly shape our lives. Professor Avi Shlaim discusses his recent book, Three Worlds: Memoirs of an Arab-Jew, as he revisits his family's idyllic days in Iraq before they were unwittingly swept into the mass emigration of Iraqi Jews into newly-created Israel. The family's cultural shock was traumatic, and their fortunes were reversed forever.
Sir Karl Raimund Popper (28 July 1902 – 17 September 1994) was an Austrian-British philosopher, academic and social commentator. One of the 20th century's most influential philosophers of science, Popper is known for his rejection of the classical inductivist views on the scientific method in favor of empirical falsification. According to Popper, a theory in the empirical sciences can never be proven, but it can be falsified, meaning that it can (and should) be scrutinized with decisive experiments. Popper was opposed to the classical justificationist account of knowledge, which he replaced with critical rationalism, namely "the first non-justificational philosophy of criticism in the history of philosophy". In political discourse, he is known for his vigorous defence of liberal democracy and the principles of social criticism that he believed made a flourishing open society possible. His political philosophy embraced ideas from major democratic political ideologies, including libertarianism/classical liberalism, socialism/social democracy and conservatism, and attempted to reconcile them. Bishop Robert Barron’s Sermons - Catholic Preaching and Homilies
Friends, as we come toward the end of the liturgical year, we begin to look at the apocalyptic writings in the Bible. What's indeed revealed is the end of the world in one sense—not so much the end of space-time, but the breaking down of all the frames of reference that we use to understand our lives. Because of the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead, something new had happened. Our Gospel for today, taken from the section of Luke called “the little apocalypse,” shows the shaking of three worlds: the world of religion, the world of politics, and the world of nature.
