I think this is one of the most important pieces of growth: become a student of your next transition. Don't be caught off guard by the natural progression of life and situations. This is being actively involved in your own growth and not passively waiting for situations to just show up and surprise you. After taking a break for a couple of months from recording and posting, I'm back! This episode is about shame and guilt. Creating and producing a podcast is very emotional for me and I recognize that in my lack I can freeze up all creativity and drive. The not-enough-ness has been in my face and I don't want to live in that, it's not fair to myself or others around me. I hope this episode provokes you and draws you out of the dark circles of thought that can paralyze joy and connection.
In this episode, I have the opportunity to interview my friend Rose from Rose Uncharted. Rose shares her passion for understanding and being in tune with your own intuition, the instincts that each of us were innately given and throwing off the mentality of the mainstream and what we've been told to believe or how to behave. In simple terms: getting in touch with your Wild Woman. She shares profound truth and provoking ideas. This will cause you to re-evaluate the why of choices or decisions and level up to your natural instinct. Rose is a voice for many on social media, you can follow her on Instagram @roseuncharted . The Wild Woman Botanical Apothecary natural products she has lovingly created can be found at her website: Rose Uncharted.
In this episode, I'm sharing about how to transform your life. Your life begins in your thoughts. How you think is how you feel and how you feel is how you act and behave. To transform your life, you must understand your mindset, see what lens you are viewing your circumstances and processing your relationships. Gratitude is the practice that challenges a scarcity mindset and opens up your emotions to abundance. Abundance is a Kingdom principle. I also touch on at the end what being in a "dry season" really means. Stay tuned even when this episode ends because I'm also sharing who I use to record, edit and engineer the Live Lovely Podcast (hint: it's Kyl Means)
In this episode, I stepped out to talk about something controversial yet very important to me: the control of religion. I hope to relieve either self-imposed pressure or pressure from the collective, or body of believers. For me, being a Jesus-follower is not about a set of do's and don't or should's and should not's - instead I see following Jesus as simply obeying God's commands and the gray areas become a matter of the heart: why you do what you do. Releasing pressure is not easy, as a recovering people-pleaser and religious-duty-performer, it confronts your history, present and future. The goal of this episode is to free you up from the control of others, to encourage you to read the Bible for the truth that it really says and freedom it brings and not someone else's interpretation of what God says through their lens. If you disagree with me, that's okay - let's talk about it.
In this episode, I'm sharing how important it is to be nice everywhere you go. Being nice is the number one way to engage with your life everyday and to be the most present you can possibly be. Even the moments that seem like a "waste" or the strangers who are on the peripheral of your life - it all matters. I also share my thoughts on RBF and how this can be a hinderance to capturing every moment and living fully.
I'm sharing the effect of passive aggression in our culture and how it effects our relationships. I share my experience, perception and practical tools on combating either your own use of passive aggression or the assault of it from others. I even tough a little bit on how to apologize correctly.
This is a bonus episode from a teaching on Mother's Day at LifePointe Church. I'm sharing my heart as a mother to mothers yet if you aren't one, you will still greatly benefit from hearing how to encourage moms! For Further Study Bible Verses Referenced: And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness... that the power of Christ may rest upon me...for when I am weak, then I am made strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9, 10 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Ephesians 4:2 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16 Reflection Questions: What would happen to your family dynamic if you embraced yourself for who you are? What if you stepped out the race everyone else is running and ran your own? What if you focused on the good work and the results that are evident in the people you are raising? What if we encouraged the moms? What if we celebrated the moms? What if we told moms over and over again what an amazing job they're doing?
