Stop Letting the Industry Define Your Success (Before It's Too Late) I was 16 years old. I walked out of an audition without a callback. And I cried. Not because the audition went badly. Not because I wasn't prepared. Just because the answer was no. I had already handed my peace over to the outcome, and I didn't even know I was doing it. I think about that girl a lot. I wish I could go back and tell her: it's one audition. One. In a lifetime of auditions. You are going to be fine. The Problem with Letting the Industry Define Your Success Here's what nobody says out loud: if you wait for a booking to feel successful, you will spend most of your career feeling like a failure. Not because you're not talented. Not because you're not working hard enough. Because the odds of this business mean that even working, thriving actors hear "no" far more than "yes." The casting grid doesn't care about your growth. It doesn't see how far you've come. So if that's where your sense of worth lives, you're giving away your power every single day. Stop outsourcing your worth to your bookings. Let Success Be a Feeling Before It Is an Event Wayne Dyer said it well: change the way you look at things and the things you look at change. That's not just a nice quote. It's a real shift in how you experience your career every single day. When success is a distant event, like landing a series regular by a certain age, you spend most of your life waiting. And not-yet always feels a lot like failure. But when you redefine success as how you live the day? That's something you actually control. Did you train today? Did you take one step in your business? Did you care for your nervous system? That's success. Measurable, real, and fully yours. I worked out this morning and I wanted to quit about six times. But I didn't. And when I was done, I was genuinely moved. Good job. You did it even when you didn't want to. Nobody handed me that feeling. It was mine. Goals, Habits, and Identity Are Three Different Things Most actors blur these together. They matter separately. Goals are results you want. Booking a co-star. Getting new footage. Landing a manager. Habits are what you do consistently. Self-taping weekly. Taking class. Staying in touch with your network. Identity is who you decide you are. Not who you'll become if everything works out. Who you are right now. You can hold all three at once. Goal: book a co-star. Habit: self-tape every week. Identity: I am a working actor in progress. That combination is what actually works. When you stop tying your identity to your outcomes, you become more resilient. And in this business, resilience is everything. Consistency, persistence, tenacity. Those might be the three most important words in this industry. Your Habits Are the Bridge Something I wrote down recently that I keep coming back to: Your habits are the bridge between your identity and your goals. Not your bookings. Not your callbacks. Your daily habits. The quiet, unglamorous work nobody sees. That's the bridge. The industry will always be chaotic. Platforms change. Trends shift. But training, the real core craft work, that's where you go to remember who you are. When your craft is solid, you can ride out the storms without losing yourself. Check In With Yourself. Regularly. Update your definition of success on a regular basis. You grow. Your definition should grow with you. Ask yourself: what does success look like for me today? Maybe it's rebuilding your confidence. Maybe it's getting new footage. Maybe it's strengthening one relationship in the industry. If your definition of success hasn't changed in a while, you haven't let yourself evolve. One More Thing: Your Money Story Matters Too Everything we just talked about, identity, worth, fear, what safety feels like, it doesn't only show up in your career. It shows up in your relationship with money too. I created a 3-part class called Healing Your Money Story: From Survival Mode to Abundance. This is not about budgeting. It's not about forcing a positive attitude or shaming yourself into discipline. It's about understanding where your money patterns came from and why they live in your body, not just your thoughts. Inherited beliefs, the nervous system, shame, money identity, and what it actually takes to feel safe with money. Can you imagine that? Feeling genuinely safe around money. If money has ever made you tense, avoidant, ashamed, or stuck in paycheck-to-paycheck survival mode, this class was made for you. Click here to learn more.

Today's episode might surprise you because I'm going to be talking about decluttering, but not in the way that you might expect. What I think is happening in our homes physically is connected with what's happening in us spiritually. So let's talk about what it looks like to declutter with abundance and authority. Success doesn't begin with strategy — it begins with identity.
Russell Kaplan, co-founder of Cognition — the company behind Devin — and previously at Scale AI and Tesla, joins the podcast to discuss what “software abundance” could mean for government. Our conversation covers… Why government software is so broken — Despite spending over $100B annually on IT, critical systems at agencies like the Social Security Administration and U.S. Department of the Treasury still run on decades-old code that few engineers know how to modify. How two-year software projects become three-week ones — why AI agents are particularly good at the painful migration and modernization work engineers tend to avoid. What “software abundance” actually means — AI agents can handle the tedious work of switching systems 24/7, collapsing the switching costs, and forcing software vendors to compete on value rather than locking customers into outdated systems. AI for cybersecurity — From triaging massive vulnerability backlogs to automatically fixing CVEs, AI will be essential for defending critical infrastructure as attackers gain the same tools. The coming “post-coding” world — As models converge in capability, the key bottleneck shifts from writing code to understanding problems, reviewing systems, and deciding what should be built in the first place. Plus, the future of procurement in an AI world, fraud detection in government datasets, the DMV as a software problem, and why Kaplan thinks the real skill of the future is knowing which problems matter. Emanuel Bistrian, Executive Director of Generosity Path, grew up in a small Romanian village under communism, one of twelve children in a faithful Christian family. After immigrating to Chicago with almost nothing, he watched his mother give generously even in scarcity. That witness shaped his ambition, not simply to succeed, but to live on purpose. Over time, as he built businesses in the United States and Romania, God reshaped his view of wealth from something to secure into something to steward with open hands. In this conversation, Emanuel shares how he and his wife chose to give from revenue rather than profit, trusting God through the global financial crisis and seasons of real risk. He describes how local generosity is transforming churches in places like Ethiopia and South Sudan, restoring dignity and fueling gospel work from within communities rather than depending on the West. Through Generosity Path, he now helps leaders around the world discover generosity as surrender, community, and mission. Listen to explore how courageous generosity can restore dignity and strengthen faith in every season. Major Topics Include: Generosity as surrender, not strategy Giving from revenue, not just profit Trusting God through financial risk Integrating faith and entrepreneurship Building generosity into business systems Community as catalyst for generous living Restoring dignity through local generosity Shifting from Western dependence to local ownership QUOTES TO REMEMBER “I realized that God wasn't poor in Romania. We as His people needed to learn generosity.” “If we didn't do something that extreme, we would never give.” “We didn't want to wait to tally up the profits to see if we were profitable enough to give.” “I would rather risk too much than too little when it comes to generosity.” “It's never a thing of how much you have. God can multiply the fish and the loaves.” “We all have everything we need to accomplish what God has called us to.” “Generosity in community is the next logical thing. Why wouldn't you want to give with others?” “Business people can be quite lonely, but community brings the joy back.” “Generosity restores dignity.” “When the Holy Spirit downloads His heart into yours, transformation takes place.” LINKS FROM THE SHOW Generosity Path Generous Giving (see our interviews with cofounders Todd Harper and David Wills and CEO, April Chapman) Journey to Generosity (JoG) with Generous Giving Praxis (see our interview with Cofounder Josh Kwan) MacLellan Foundation (see our interview with Director of Generosity, John Cortines) Handful of Rice video Bishop Hannington video TAKE A STEP DEEPER On the Finish Line podcast, we are all about stories, seeing how God draws us into generosity over a lifetime. But sometimes these stories can leave us thinking, “What's that next step look like for me?” That's exactly why we've launched a whole new podcast called Applied Generosity which explores the full landscape of the generous life across 7 different dimensions of generosity. Applied Generosity helps make sense of the hundreds of stories we've shared on the Finish Line Podcast to help you find that best next step. In this episode of The WAG Diaries, Victoria breaks down why women need to stop centering others and start centering themselves, setting boundaries, and prioritizing their goals, standards, and self-worth. If you have ever felt like you were shrinking your ambitions, lowering your standards, or putting everyone else first, this conversation will help you reclaim your identity and rebuild a life that reflects your true priorities. You have probably heard the phrase “decentering men.” But here is the truth: if the conversation is still about men, they are still the reference point. Instead of reacting to others, this episode explores something far more powerful. Centering yourself. When you truly prioritize your goals, your standards, and your peace, everything shifts. Your relationships improve, your confidence grows, and you begin building a life that feels aligned with who you really are. Victoria breaks down how women are socialized to make themselves smaller, how that conditioning shows up in careers, friendships, and relationships, and what it actually looks like to reclaim your space. This episode also includes practical self audits, boundary frameworks, and journaling prompts to help you start rebuilding a life that is centered around your values and your vision. You will also hear examples from powerful women like Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna, Sara Blakely, Beyoncé, and Tory Burch who built empires by trusting themselves and refusing to shrink their vision. If you have ever felt like you were putting everyone else first while losing yourself in the process, this conversation is your reminder that your life belongs to you. You are not decentering anyone. You are centering yourself. In this episode we discuss • Why the phrase “decentering men” still keeps men as the reference point • The conditioning that teaches women to shrink themselves • How to identify where you may be making yourself small • Why your goals and routines should be non-negotiable • The power of high standards and strong boundaries • Real life examples of women who built empires by centering themselves • A simple weekly self-audit to help you stay aligned Journal Prompts from this Episode In what areas of my life am I making myself small to accommodate others? What goals have I deprioritized because of external expectations? What are my true non-negotiable standards? What does a life centered around my values actually look like? If this episode resonated with you, share it with a woman who needs permission to stop shrinking. Follow and subscribe to The WAG Diaries so you never miss your an episode! The security guard at the grocery store is a sign before they are a deterrent. This episode takes Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower as its anchor and reads scarcity not as a natural condition but as a managed one — enforced through bodies, symbols, and spatial logic. What does it mean when abundance collapses not into emptiness, but into enclosure? Season 2 finale.

Derek Thompson, journalist and co-author of Abundance, joins Offline to hash out some hard truths about AI: who it will actually replace, why we haven't seen more labor market disruption, and why the Department of War's battle with Anthropic spells the end of private property rights in America. If you are ready to move away from the hustle and want more ease and abundance, flow, and financial freedom in your life, this video is for you. I'm revealing the exact 3 steps required to experience a profound shift from wounded masculine energy to divine feminine magnetism. This isn't a strategy or a mindset hack - it is an ancient, deep, and somatic shift into your true feminine essence. Many spiritual women entrepreneurs are stuck in burnout culture, attaching their self-worth to performance and achievements. This misalignment blocks your natural ability to attract wealth because, according to the Law of Correspondence, you experience what you are. By healing the wounded feminine - specifically the witch wound, bitch wound, and whore wound - you reclaim your intuition, your creative power, and your receiving energy. In this video, you'll learn:

Key Takeaways: Fundraising rooted in pressure and extraction erodes trust over time. Sustainable support grows from community, shared values, and genuine connection. When relationships lead, generosity follows naturally. Over-following up and manufactured urgency often reveal anxiety, not strategy. Constant pressure weakens credibility and exhausts donors. Abundance thinking creates calmer, more effective leadership. Caring about a mission is not enough to spark giving. Donors contribute when they feel seen, heard, and connected to something meaningful. Relationship transforms passive belief into active generosity. A “no” rarely means disinterest or lack of care. Staying curious and honoring dignity preserves long-term trust. Valuing the person over the transaction builds lasting loyalty. “Manufactured emergency undermines your credibility. If our relationships are rooted in trust... manufactured urgency breaks that trust, and it is a tool of manipulation.” “Curiosity keeps relationships alive. Assumptions shut them down.” “When we stop treating generosity like it's running out, fundraising gets quieter and more effective.” - Maryanne Dersch Let's Work Together to Amplify Your Leadership + Influence1. A scarcity mindset focuses on keeping what you have. In some cases, it's holding tightly to the little you have, while feeling terrified that it will slip away. Abundance flips the script: it dares you to dream bigger, create more, and generously share the overflow. We all have a choice so why not choose abundance over scarcity. And that's exactly what Tony Wechsler and Kim Carter are going to discuss on today's episode. Forrest is joined by journalist and author Michael Easter to discuss how we can make our lives better by making them (the right kind of) harder. They start with one of modern life's paradoxes: things have gotten much easier, but this hasn't led to more happiness or fulfillment. In Mark chapter 4, we shift from rapid action into Jesus’ teaching—especially through parables, stories that place a familiar picture beside a spiritual truth and invite us to wrestle with what God is saying. This chapter is full of abundance language, which is why I’m calling it “How to Be Wealthy.” Jesus begins with the parable of the sower, and then He explains what it means: the seed is the Word of God, and the “soil” is what happens inside a person as they hear it. We see four outcomes—seed snatched away, seed that sprouts fast but has no root, seed choked by worries and wealth and desires, and seed that lands in good soil and multiplies. The invitation isn’t Bible trivia; it’s transformation. Jesus is showing us that true wealth is the abundance of God’s kingdom—a rich life marked by fruit, freedom, and spiritual growth. And the question becomes deeply personal: what is choking the Word in me—and how can I cultivate good soil so the Word can take root and produce? What We Cover: Parables require attention: Jesus teaches in stories to invite curiosity, openness, and deeper engagement—not passive listening. The seed is the Word: the central issue is what happens to God’s Word inside a person over time. The threat isn’t always “bad things”: worry, wealth’s deception, and competing desires can quietly choke what God is growing. Fruitfulness is connected to reception: hearing isn’t the same as accepting—accepting the Word involves repentance, turning, and letting truth reshape reality. Abundance is God’s work: you cultivate depth; God brings the multiplication. A rich life is kingdom-rich: wealth is redefined as a life full of God’s presence, freedom, love, and fruit—not merely money or influence. A practical diagnostic: identify what consistently chokes the Word in you, and remove or limit it so your heart can become good soil. In Part 2 of my conversation with Dr. Austin Cohen, we move beyond systems and scaling and into identity, ego, and what true impact actually looks like in 2026. We talk about endurance challenges as a leadership metaphor, why discipline unlocks creativity, and how abundance can feel deeply uncomfortable when you didn't grow up with it. Austin shares his word of the year — impact — and what it means to “contract to expand,” including shedding ego, removing tolerations, and even closing clinics that no longer align. We also dive into imposter syndrome, wealth programming, retirement freedom vs. true retirement, and the hard truth chiropractors need to hear: either accept where you are… or have the courage to level up. This one is honest, personal, and just a little spicy.Key Takeaways:You cannot expand while tolerating misalignment. Whether it's ego, underperforming systems, draining locations, or outdated identities, growth requires contraction first. Removing what no longer serves you creates space for real impact.Abundance isn't just money — it's capacity. Many high performers stall not from lack of skill, but from discomfort with receiving more time freedom, wealth, joy, or ease. Growth requires upgrading what you believe you're allowed to have.Choose your lane with courage. Either accept where you are and enjoy it fully, or decide to level up and embrace discomfort. The most draining place to live is in between.Guest Bio:Dr. Austin Cohen is an Atlanta-based chiropractor and entrepreneur best known as the founder of Corrective Chiropractic, a growing network of clinics focused on structural corrective care across multiple states. He is also the founder of L5 Marketing, a company managing Google Ads and growth systems for chiropractors nationwide, and the creator of Chiro180, a software platform designed to increase Office Visit Average (OVA) and Patient Visit Average (PVA) through data-driven care planning and spinal health scoring. Today we're looking at the book Abundance, by Ezra Klein, co-authored with Derek Thompson, published in 2025. Ezra Klein is a writer and editor. He has a columnist and editor at The Washington Post, a policy analyst at MSNBC, and a contributor to Bloomberg. He's written for The New Yorker and The New York Review of Books, and appeared on Face the Nation, The Daily Show, PBS NewsHour, and many more. He has earned a reputation of being somewhat left wing in his views. There is a danger in type casting people. As you will see, much of what he talks about in his book could be considered part of the libertarian and Republican core beliefs. In real estate, we live and die by the gap between what people need and what the market can deliver. When housing is scarce, rents rise, household formation slows, employers struggle to hire, and communities get brittle. Abundance is a book that argues the United States has not merely stumbled into scarcity, it has, in many ways, designed it. The authors' central claim is that we've built layers of well-intentioned rules and processes that make it painfully hard to build housing, infrastructure, and clean energy at the scale we say we want. -------------**Real Estate Espresso Podcast:** Spotify: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](https://open.spotify.com/show/3GvtwRmTq4r3es8cbw8jW0?si=c75ea506a6694ef1) iTunes: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-real-estate-espresso-podcast/id1340482613) Website: [www.victorjm.com](http://www.victorjm.com) LinkedIn: [Victor Menasce](http://www.linkedin.com/in/vmenasce) YouTube: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](http://www.youtube.com/@victorjmenasce6734) Facebook: [www.facebook.com/realestateespresso](http://www.facebook.com/realestateespresso) Email: [podcast@victorjm.com](mailto:podcast@victorjm.com) **Y Street Capital:** Website: [www.ystreetcapital.com](http://www.ystreetcapital.com) Facebook: [www.facebook.com/YStreetCapital](https://www.facebook.com/YStreetCapital) Instagram: [@ystreetcapital](http://www.instagram.com/ystreetcapital)

In today's Ask Abundance, I'm joined by Abundance consultant Kim Wheeler-Poitevien, LCSW. We're talking about AI in your therapy practice — notes, admin tasks, and where the ethical lines actually are. We unpack what informed consent looks like when AI is in the room, why there's a big difference between a HIPAA-compliant notes platform and dropping client info into ChatGPT, and how to think about all of this without freezing or just avoiding it altogether. If you've been curious about AI tools but worried about your license, client trust, or just doing it wrong — this conversation will help you find an approach that's thoughtful, informed, and actually workable. A quick heads-up. The audio quality isn't what we normally aim for, and we appreciate your patience. The insights in this conversation felt too important to keep to ourselves. In today's episode, I sit down with serial entrepreneur and investor Terry Knight, whose mission is to help people grow, scale, and live with purpose. We talk about faith, family, and what it really means to help a billion people be happy. I share why “I am” is my favorite verse, how doing your best, learning lessons, and having fun shapes my parenting, and why non-negotiable time for sleep, health, and family changes everything. We also discuss losing over $100 million, rebuilding through humility, and why your daily behaviors matter more than today's evidence.
Have you ever hit a big milestone and still felt… off? You closed the deal. You reached the revenue goal. You hit the number you've been chasing. On paper, everything looks solid. But internally? Something feels slightly empty. In this episode of the Happy Hustle Podcast, I dive into three of the ten alignments from our S.O.U.L.M.A.P.P.I.N system — the framework I use to systematically harmonize ambition and well-being. Those three are: Loving Relationships Mindful Spirituality Abundance Financially These are just 3 out of the 10 alignments, but they are powerful ones. When even one of these is out of whack, you can feel it. When all three are aligned, life hits different. Let's start with loving relationships. You can build an incredible business, but if your marriage is strained, your kids feel distant, or your friendships are surface-level, it will eventually catch up with you. Relationships are not a bonus category. They are foundational. I share the L.O.V.E.R. framework to help navigate adversity in relationships: Listen. Observe. Voice. Empathize. Repair. Most people skip listening and jump straight to defending. But communication isn't just about words. It's tone. Body language. Energy. Presence. If you want a ten in your relationship, you've got to be a ten. Then we move into mindful spirituality. This isn't about religion or rigid rules. It's about connection to something bigger than your to-do list, your ego, or your quarterly targets. When you feel spiritually disconnected, everything feels heavier. You operate from stress, urgency, and control. But when you intentionally create stillness, you regain perspective. I use the reminder C.I.T.S. — Chill In The Still. Sit down. Get quiet. Reflect. Pray. Meditate. Breathe. Even a few intentional minutes of stillness per day can shift your nervous system and your clarity. Stillness builds inner strength. Gratitude. Confidence. When you are spiritually grounded, you don't chase, you align. Now let's talk about abundance financially. Abundance isn't just about making more money. It's about how you make it and who you become in the process. Over the years, I've used a simple framework called R.O.A.D.M.A.P. to generate millions in revenue, often in 45-minute Zoom calls. Not because I'm special, but because the system is aligned. R.O.A.D.M.A.P. stands for: Rapport Obstacle Aspiration Demonstration Match Ask Pull First, build rapport. Real connection. Trust. Then understand the obstacle. What problem are they trying to solve? Next, aspiration. What outcome do they truly want? Then demonstrate. Show proof. Testimonials. Real results. Match is critical. It has to be a fit both ways. I've worked with misaligned clients before and the money is never worth the stress. Then ask clearly. And finally, pull, not push. Ethical urgency. Honest scarcity. Invitation instead of pressure. Money should not cost you your peace. It should amplify your impact. It should allow you to provide, give, invest, and grow without sacrificing your integrity. Money magnifies who you already are. If you're grounded in strong relationships and spiritual alignment, money expands that. If you're disconnected, it amplifies that too. At the end of the day, fulfillment isn't built in one big achievement. It's built in daily alignment. How you love your people. How you connect to something greater than yourself. How you steward and multiply your resources with integrity. These three alignments are just part of the ten. But if you dial them in, everything else starts to rise with them. Pause. Reflect. Realign. That's how you systematically harmonize ambition and well-being. That's how you truly put the HAPPY in your HUSTLE. Connect with Cary!
