In this episode of SaaS Fuel, host Jeff Mains sits down with serial entrepreneur and strategic executive Josh Sizemore, a powerhouse in building and scaling consumer brands in retail, CPG, wellness, and ecommerce. Drawing from decades of experience (including billion-dollar brands and innovative startups), Josh reveals the realities of taking niche health products to household names—without losing your brand's soul or becoming just another “me-too” in a crowded market. The conversation uncovers the art and science of brand storytelling, making the leap from DTC to retail, the power of deep versus wide expansion, the importance of authentic leadership, and how to avoid the pitfalls of solo decision-making and delegation. Josh gets candid about his journey launching a premium water brand, the value of grit in founder storytelling, navigating retail growth, keys to scaling SaaS marketplaces, and the ever-present challenge of knowing when to sell or double down.Whether you're a SaaS founder, a CPG upstart, or growing any high-integrity brand, this episode is loaded with actionable insights on leading powerfully, communicating clearly, and building market momentum that lasts.Key Takeaways00:00 AI, Innovation, and Mindset Shift06:35 Boost Product Sales with Sampling07:38 Slow and Steady Market Expansion11:24 Effective Virtual Communication Tools16:24 Water Donation and Distribution Initiative18:24 "Authentic Storytelling in Branding"23:00 "Original New York Salsa Success"27:00 Entrepreneurship Patience and Resilience30:05 High-End Retail Venture Story32:49 Founders' Delegation Challenges35:48 Instincts and Delegation39:31 Entrepreneurial Journeys in InnovationTweetable QuotesIf a distributor wants you but the retailers don't want you, then they're not going to bring you in. One goal of this podcast is to shed light on aspects of our self-perception that have been in the shadows. Moms often feel shamed and judgmental about discussing their feelings, and they frequently believe they are alone in their experiences. Therapy can be very helpful for a parent who feels overwhelmed and overloaded, because talking about issues helps develop coping skills to navigate their imperfect lives as they allow the healing process to begin. The pressure to “know everything” in motherhood can weigh a new mother down, especially if their mother instincts aren't kicking in. There needs to be a greater understanding and compassion for mothers facing this challenge. Let's unpack this topic in today's episode. Show Highlights: Common socializations around motherhood and the mother instinct Pressures are NOT truths! Events in our lives can greatly affect our mother instinct. Blanket generalizations about mother instincts are unfair. What we are leaving out is the mother's FULL experience as a human. We need a new approach. Let's take the pressure off new parents! In this episode of the Truth From The Stand podcast, I'm joined by my buddy Chad Sylvester for a conversation that digs deeper than gear and shot placement. We talk about what it really means to be prepared—not just physically, but mentally—for the hunt. We get into how instinct, mindset, and adaptability often matter more than any piece of equipment you can strap to your back. Chad and I reflect on the importance of letting each hunt teach you something, even when the freezer stays empty. This one's about learning from the process, leaning into the uncertainty, and letting the woods shape the kind of hunter—and person—you're becoming. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PODCAST 451 Set clear goals to get the most from every hunt. Preparation—mental and physical—is non-negotiable. A primal connection to the process makes the experience richer. Intuition often beats overthinking in the moment of truth. Mindset and adaptability matter more than most realize. The hunt should shape you—not just your freezer. Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening (and reading!)This is a re-release. I'm taking a break/pause for the Summer "slowing down to speed up" and am looking forward to what the Fall will bring! To name a few things that I'm working on are!1. A new podcast titled "Quiet Leader" for introverts, empaths and highly sensitive people (to be launched in the late Summer).2. An upcoming Audio Summit (to be launched in the Fall of 2025). 'A Summit for High Achieving Introverts, Empaths and Highly Sensitive People to go from Selfless to Self-love and from Depleted to Dynamic!'3. And an upcoming Audiobook (to be released in February of 2026). It will have the same premise and title as the Audio Summit, except it will be 'A Guide for High Achieving Introverts, Empaths and Highly Sensitive People to go from Selfless to Self-love and from Depleted to Dynamic!'I hope you enjoy this episode!ElizabethMy websiteIG handleAll links are here!Helping High Achieving Introverts, Empaths and Highly Sensitive People To Go from Depleted to DynamicFreebie! It's interesting how we are taught and "groomed" (especially women) to look 'outward' for advice and to ask, ask, ask. And to not ever look inward and to follow our instincts and what our intuition is telling us. I'm not speaking about anything that's harming someone else...I have too much empathy for that and I would never preach that. This is for the sole reason of us following our intuition in life and that that is enough. We don't need to ask for permission or to ask for advice or to look outward. It's all within us and isn't it interesting that that's when we seek advice the most? If someone asks you "why are you doing this or that?" or "how come?" you can steal this answer from me which is..."Because I'm following my instincts" and if they keep asking you can follow-up with "My instincts are just that, they're mine and they won't make sense to you"....just like your instincts are yours and they won't make sense to me either". And you can be rest assured that that is enough of a reason. :)~~~~~~~~~~If this or any of my podcast episodes have been of value to you, please subscribe/follow and if you would be so kind as to rate me a 5 star ️️️️️ review? >>>To do a review on: Apple>>> 1. In a single year, Sharon Stone was nominated for awards for both Best Actress and Worst Actress – for the same role. She launched a million sexual awakenings with one quick display in Basic Instinct. Her performance in that film was so vivid that it inspired stalkers to track her down. It may have even served as the inspiration for one fan to commit murder, cannibalism, and necrophilia.
