We are also joined by a couple of colleagues who talk about the work they're doing to help create a more welcoming library environment. Karina Hagelin (Outreach & Instruction Librarian) joins us to talk about their diversity fellowship and the work they have been doing at Mann, including programming in the mannUfactory Makerspace and their participation on the Library Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) Council. They share their thoughts on what makes an inclusive library, what Mann is doing well, and areas where we could be doing even more to make marginalized users feel more welcome and supported. Kevin Kidwell (User Experience Developer) talks about the work he’s been doing related to accessibility and the ongoing efforts to bring all library websites into compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 by the end of 2019.
