    What Is The Gospel?

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 4, 2022 24:09

If you had to pick one verse to sum up the Gospel, which one would you pick? For the sake of argument, let's say you only had time to pick one verse to witness to an unbeliever with. Which would you pick? In this episode, I want to explain why, for me, that verse is Romans 6:23. In this episode, I also want to take a moment and discuss what the Gospel is. In short, the Gospel is simply the fact that, although we have sinned and deserve death as a result, God has graciously sent his Son to die for our sins so that we can inherit eternal life. This is basic, but it is important that we understand this. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nazarene-caffeine/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nazarene-caffeine/support

The Earliest Description of Jesus' Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-8)

In this episode, I present some of my earlier exegetical work on the Pre-Pauline creed of 1 Corinthians 15:3-8. I explain why the concept that Jesis did not rise bodily fails to be a plausible explanation, as well as why the so-called "hallucination hypothesis" put forward by individuals like Gerd Ludemann fail as explanations for the resurrection appearances. Why Apologetics Is Wesleyan

In this episode, I respond to some Wesleyan individuals who have, in my opinion, naively claimed that apologetics has no place in Wesleyanism. I have a baker's dozen questions to ask individuals who hold this position. In the meantime, I show how, if you take John Wesley as your example or believe the Wesleyan quadrilateral, you should believe that apologetics is Wesleyan. In this bonus episode, we are going to deal with two questions that come up in conversation among millennial Christians. First, how should we deal with anxiety? We live in a crazy world, and hopefully some of the ways that I deal with my anxiety will help you deal with yours, as well. Second, should I tithe, or should I use some other measure for my giving? I'll give my view and hopefully it will help you think through this question. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nazarene-caffeine/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nazarene-caffeine/support
