Adulting is hard for every young person. Transitioning from teenager to young adult to full-blown “grown†adult can be hard to navigate. It’s even harder when you’re striving to be more like Jesus in a generation & culture that prefers being like Yeezus. In this podcast, I share my journey with Jesus as a young woman just striving to honor God each day & fulfill His purpose for my life. I’ll be talking about the mountaintops & valleys, God’s word, & all I’m learning as I focus on Him each day. I’m still learning to be more like Him & I’ll never be perfect, but I’ll always be progressingðŸ™ðŸ¾ðŸ§¡
Sometimes when we're waiting on God, we feel hopeless, frustrated, and even depressed. We're ready to hurry out of the temporary desert or valley season so we can stand happily on the mountain top. But the valleys and deserts of waiting are important. They may be temporary but they must be seen through the right lens so we don't waste it.
“Life is short; be intentional. Life is long; be encouraged.” -Anonymous
Sometimes it can be overwhelming and make us feel lonely when we face emotions or challenges in our life. It can make us feel like no one else could possibly understand what we're going through. But be encouraged! Jesus understands everything you face and feel because He already went through it. Let that truth sink into your heart and allow Jesus to comfort you through whatever you're facing!
Life can be distracting and there are so many things that can cause us to lose our focus from God. Our plans, desires, and flesh can blind us from living the life we have been created for. It can cause us to not fully walk in purpose and live it out wholeheartedly. But God…He reminds us of our true purpose and always sets us on the path He has predestined.
Jesus is not intimidated or surprised by our raw, uncut, unfiltered true emotions. He doesn't want us to put on a front with Him. He wants us to be 100% real with Him— be real when we're doubting and anxious, when we're frustrated and angry with our situation and even with Him because in those real moments, He can cover us and meet us with His grace. He will meet us with open arms, ready to receive everything we are feeling and going through so He can pour His unfailing love and never-ending grace onto us—to heal and restore all the dark, hopeless, and broken places.
It's so important that we as brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ cover each other in prayer. God has placed it on my heart to reach out to my loved ones and fellow believers to ask what you are in need of so I may fervently pray over you. Please send any prayers to my email: brianag95@gmail.com You can just include your first name and whatever your prayer requests are. Also, please listen to “Isaiah Song” by Maverick City Music for those in need of encouragement in this season especially those waiting on a promise from God. I know it's not easy but be encouraged that God is faithful to fulfill His promises and He is with you. Link to song: https://youtu.be/QTZj5FJMuMI
Sometimes we've been waiting with hopeful anticipation for the promises of God that when we receive it, we forget...We forget key moments and lessons, and even God's goodness. It's so important that we never forget Him or all He has brought us through.
When God calls you, will you be ready to accept it and rise to the occasion?
Sometimes we get so distracted in the busyness and concerns of life that we forget the importance of entering the secret place, our hiding place with God. A place where it's just the two of us, in peaceful silence speaking to each other. Your hiding place is the best place to hear God clearly because you're not distracted by outside noises and voices. You're only listening out for the most important One: Your Heavenly Father's.
One thing is for certain for every human being: death. Sorry if that was too...blunt but it's true; it's inevitable. But how we spend our time on earth can affect our eternity. It's important for us to place our values and focus on the right thing (here's a hint: it starts with a ‘G' and ends with a ‘d') so our treasures will be stored in the right place.
Sometimes I just wanna talk freely about life and how good God is. Ya know? No specific topic; just thoughts, emotions, and truths flowing freely as I spend time with God and you.
If you eat junk food— salty snacks and savory sweets, fast food, and the only fruit you consume is in ‘snack' form your body is going to run horribly. You won't have as much energy, your digestive track will be out of whack, and your organs will start shutting down as they scream for nutrients...you know the “good stuff”. Our spirit works the same way. What we feed it will either strengthen us & give us the “good stuff” we need or it will deprive us and starve us. What are you consuming? Social media 24/7? Rap music that glorifies satisfying the flesh? Movies and videos that cause your mind and heart to stray from God? Or are you filling yourself up on the daily Bread of Life— Jesus? Are you being satisfied by His word? Reflect on what you consume the most & think about how it's affecting your day-to-day thoughts, words, actions, and reactions. Are you responding from the spirit or simply reacting from your flesh?
If you're like me, you grew up in the church and heard about fasting. You knew Jesus fasted for 40 days & nights, but the importance and necessity of it was never emphasized. And it wasn't until you experienced it for yourself that you realized this. Or you're someone that doesn't even know what it means to fast or why it's important. Whoever you are, this episode is for you. I share why and how you should fast and my personal experiences fasting with hopes it'll help you grow in truth of why we as Christians need to fast.
Hey, beautiful people! In this episode, I just quickly shared about journaling to God and how it's helped me over the years with hopes that maybe you might be encouraged or inspired to start yourself. A Dear God journal is such a beautiful way to connect with God and reflect in new seasons what He's done for you and through you in previous seasons. It's always good to reflect on and remember all that God has done within our own lives especially during times when we need some encouragement ❤️
Sometimes life knocks you down...hard for the 100th time and you don't want to get up anymore. You're tired of fighting the same fight & getting no change. You're tired of being burdened by the same circumstances and difficulties. You're just TIRED of being TIRED. Because of that feeling, you get off track. Yeah, I know. That's happened to me, too. But no matter how much you don't feel like getting back up, ya gotta do it. And I'm going to share how I get back up every time I'm knocked down with hopeful prayers that it'll help you do the same.
Waiting. Let's be real: no one likes to do it. Everyone wants instant gratification because we can't seem to spare even a minute. But in the waiting season, I experienced the most growth and had the most fulfilling experience of my entire life. It was, by far, the hardest season, but the most necessary. I thank God for the wilderness He sent me into. The wilderness is where I experienced His presence the strongest, heard His voice the clearest, and learned how to truly depend on Him alone to meet all my needs. Philippians 4:19 says “And my God shall supply ALL your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Are you tired of being single? Of being the only one that doesn't have a bf/gf at the cookout? Do you just want God to hurry up & send you your life mate? Well your single season, just like every season of your life, has a God intended purpose. Don't miss out on what God has for you right now because you're trying to rush to what's next.
God is so awesome! He has blessed each of us with free will, but let's be honest it isn't always easy making the right choices. It's not always easy choosing to be disciplined and consistent in most areas of our lives. But when we choose God daily, it helps us build better habits, break old ones, and make Godly choices within our lives.
In the “first” Poetically Saved episode I share the purpose of my podcast, the backstory of how I got the idea to even make one, and the importance of being obedient to God. When He says jump, don't ask “how high?” Just jump!
