Two treasures, two visions, two masters, but only one worthy of everything we have. Jesus alone is the treasure death cannot take, the light darkness cannot overcome, and the Master who never fails. He isn't asking for part of our hearts. He's worthy of all of it.

Storing Up Treasures in Heaven In this Homily, Jesus calls His disciples to store up treasures in heaven rather than on earth. The Homily explains that during biblical times people commonly measured wealth through fine clothing, gold and silver, abundant harvests, honor, and power. Yet all these earthly treasures are temporary. Clothes wear out, food decays, wealth can be stolen, and worldly achievements eventually pass away. Through examples such as the rich man and Lazarus and the parable of the rich fool, Jesus reminds His followers that material possessions cannot provide lasting security or eternal life. The Homily emphasizes that the true treasure of heaven is Jesus Christ Himself. Quoting Saint Louis de Montfort . . . “To have Jesus is to have everything” . . . and Saint Augustine's teaching to love God above all things and love everything else for God's sake, the Homily invites us to examine our priorities. What Occupies Our First Thoughts What occupies our first thoughts in the morning and our final thoughts at night? God asks not only for our love, but for our supreme love. When God becomes the highest good in our lives, all other gifts . . . family, friendships, work, talents, and possessions . . . find their proper place. The rich young ruler didn't just have wealth—he trusted it (Matthew 19:16–30). His money gave him a false sense of security and self-sufficiency, convincing him he was in control. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef shows why Scripture repeatedly warns against that trap and calls believers to live differently. Paul's instruction to Timothy is direct: don't be arrogant, and don't put your hope in wealth “which is so uncertain,” but in God who provides richly (1 Timothy 6:17). Jesus goes even further, urging us to stop stockpiling temporary treasures and instead invest in eternity—because what you treasure reveals what you truly worship (Matthew 6:19–21). Dr. Youssef also exposes the deeper misconception behind the ruler's mindset: thinking salvation can be earned, purchased, or donated into existence. No amount of rule-keeping, good deeds, or financial generosity can reconcile a sinner to God. Jesus makes the point unmistakably: what is impossible with man is possible with God (Matthew 19:26). Only God can change a sinful heart, and only the blood of Jesus can secure forgiveness and eternal life. If you've been tempted to rely on resources, status, or self-effort for security, this devotional will redirect your hope to the only sure foundation: Christ alone. What are you storing up for the future?In Bruce Wilkerson's book A Life God Rewards - Why Everything You Do Today Matters Forever, he tells of a week-long seminary class he taught on rewards in heaven. Every afternoon after the class, a special group of scholars met and debated every point. One day, a church historian from Romania asked the group,"What do the greats of church history such as Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Wesley, and Spurgeon all have in common?" When everyone hesitated, he told the answer. "They all earnestly believed in and hoped for eternal rewards."Wilkerson said that toward the end of the week, he noticed a shift. The room full of scholars were spending less time debating and more time responding personally to the material.One afternoon, an older participant pulled him aside and said, "I thought God brought me here to learn more about eternal rewards, but I was wrong. "He brought me here to change my heart. Store your treasures in heaven. [NLT]

There is only one way to lay out your treasures in heaven, that is, fasting. The spiritual discipline of fasting is just denying yourself of something you want or need, to focus yourself on God. It's a very important and vital habit that all Christians should practice weekly, monthly, and even daily to center themselves on God. In today's message, Pastor Bill will highlight the potential of what fasting can do for you and what it's been proven to do for others. Fasting is an opportunity to slow down and find God in the mundane!

When we give, which we are commanded to give, we have to give generously and discreetly! The Bible tells us to help others in need and to be generous with what we have been blessed with! Most people think of finances, but it could also be our time, consideration, or simply a listening ear! In today's message, Pastor Bill will encourage you to give back to God what He has blessed you with! Be faithful with the patience, the time, and even the money that the Lord has blessed you with!
