Episode SummaryIn this episode, Bobby Bosler recounts the recent cross-country move that marked a major transition into the pastorate—and the spiritual insights it sparked. With everything his family owned packed into a single trailer, he reflects on Jesus' words in Matthew 6 about treasure, focus, and true devotion. Today, Michael looks at this passage in Matthew. We see that anything we strive for in life becomes more important than God. What is your priority in life? We see that all are visited by death, wealth isn't currency in Heaven and that devotion to worldly treasure erodes our worship to God. We see we need to take up the eternal things that meet with God's approvalJoin our family morning service every Sunday at 11am.New Life HaydockPhythian StreetHaydockWA11 0AH
In this sermon, Pastor Micah Stephens explores Matthew 6:19-24 from the Sermon on the Mount, urging believers to choose heavenly treasures over earthly ones. He emphasizes Jesus' teaching on giving, praying, and fasting as acts of obedience that yield divine rewards when done with a pure heart, not for worldly recognition. Pastor Micah warns against the hypocrisy of seeking earthly rewards like wealth and glory, which reveal a divided loyalty to mammon rather than God. Through vivid illustrations, including the story of John Harper on the Titanic, he calls Christians to fix their gaze on Christ, prioritizing eternal values over fleeting worldly gains, and to serve God alone as their master, ensuring their heart aligns with heavenly treasures.Verse References: Isaiah 55 verse 8, Romans 6 verse 16, Matthew 6 verses 19-24, Luke 12 verses 33-34, 1 Timothy 6 verses 10-11, Philippians 4 verses 11-13, John 12 verses 42-43, Matthew 10 verse 32, Colossians 3 verses 1-2, Luke 17 verse 32, Acts 16 verse 31Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information!https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. Find your treasure in Heaven with these three principles on money and finances
This week we are continuing our series on the book “Duty to Defend” with an article by Rev. Philip Zielinski. Matthew 6:19-21 cautions us to not lay up treasures on earth that thieves can steal, but rather the lay up treasures in heaven. The implication being that you should not own a firearm for home defense because you should not use deadly force in defense of property (ignoring, of course, more nefarious intentions of home intruders). When thinking of treasure it often conjures images of wealth and power. However, as Martin Luther would say, “Now anything upon which you hang your heart and rely, I say, is really your God”. He taught spiritual principles that can help us learn what the treasures are that we can lay up in heaven, and how that can be done. No matter how old we are or how old we get, everyone who

In this episode, I get a bit confused with my Bible, mistaking the Sermon On The Mount verse, Matthew 6:19-21, for the conversation with the Rich Young Ruler(Luke 18)... Oh well. They both mention "Treasures in Heaven", so I'll call it a win.

Daniel continues our Fall series on the Sermon on the Mount - "Jesus Said What?!" - teaching on the difference between storing up treasures on earth vs eternal treasures in heaven—our treasures on earth are fleeting, but treasures in heaven are everlasting.--------------------Jesus said many surprising things in the Bible. In this series we're reading through what's known as Jesus' Sermon On the Mount—a counter-cultural teaching that painted a picture of God's “upside down kingdom.”Support the show
I have a lot of stress in my life. I'm learning to trust God. What does it mean to be “anxious for nothing”? How do we store up treasures in Heaven? What did Jesus mean? To what degree did Jesus really experience human temptation and struggle? How do we balance needing “no one to teach” us because of the Holy Spirit, but then appreciate the body of Christ and its diversity of gifts?
After a robust discussion at kindred church revealed that there is much to explore in regards to our relationship to wealth and the differences between abundance and excess; we decided to record a deeper exploration.Together, Pastors Mike and Rob discuss how we can navigate these the world of wealth, asking big questions like: How do we prepare our hearts to handle money wisely? This episode offers insights on what it means to live out Kingdom values in a world fueled by finances and challenges us to steward our resources with humility, generosity, and purpose.
