Turning 30, dating in your 30s, and why life is short are on the table this week as Berenice and Ella unpack what it actually feels like to get older. They talk aging out of certain dating pools, letting go of friendships that no longer serve them, and why FOMO and people-pleasing quietly steal your twenties. The girls get real about anxiety, journaling as self-reflection, commodifying your passions into burnout, and the regret of living for other people's expectations instead of your own. It's equal parts life-is-short pep talk and hard-won hindsight, with the laughs and radical honesty you come here for.Follow the girls on social!

This episode reflects on the shortness of life without turning it into panic. Oliver Burkeman's “four thousand weeks” gives us a blunt measure of our limits, while Seneca's story of Julius Canus shows how calm can survive even under the shadow of death. The Stoic point isn't to master time or escape mortality, but to stop wasting what remains on denial, anxiety, or impossible self-optimization.Since we can't know how many weeks are left, the task is to inhabit the present with attention, courage, and dignity.

In this episode, we reflect on Moses' ancient prayer and discover how the everlasting God gives eternal significance to our brief and often difficult lives. Together we'll explore what it means to number our days, find our true dwelling place in God, and pray, "Lord, establish the work of my hands."Whether you're beginning a new school year, stepping into another season of work, or simply longing to live more intentionally, this conversation offers timeless encouragement for ordinary faithfulness in a fleeting world. You can order the devotionals at https://amzn.to/4h8zFe6 or https://wisdomcalling.orgFollow us on Instagram: @wisdomcallingnow

Hello to you listening in Wellingborough, North Hamptonshire, England! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. They say that life is like a roll of TP: the closer you get to the end the faster it goes. Maybe you feel this way, too. Zoom Zoom! How do we slow it down? Pay attention to what's still there? Savor the days even when they taste like cardboard, or worse? Imagine this: Life is like a big red bus and some of us get on fighting for the best seats to see the best view from the best vantage points when all of a sudden the bus ride is over and we saw nothing. Others are content to stand in the aisle and experience the ride as best they can, being grateful for having gotten on the bus in the first place. Story Prompt: We are given a life we have no right to expect. Now that you've boarded the big red bus what's your ride going to be like? Write that story and share it out loud! Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something.   All that matters is you have a story. You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Life moves fast. One day turns into a week. A week turns into a month. A month turns into a year. Before we know it, opportunities to say what we wanted to say, express how we feel, or reconnect with someone we care about can slip away.In this episode of the Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about the importance of letting people know how you feel about them while you still have the chance. I also discuss the other side of that conversation, learning how to let go of grudges that continue to weigh you down. That doesn't mean inviting everyone back into your life. Some people have shown us exactly why they shouldn't have a place in our lives moving forward. But holding onto resentment, replaying old situations, and carrying emotional weight year after year often hurts us more than anyone else.I also share an update on the future of the Daryl Perry Podcast feed, why you'll be seeing more episodes appear here, and how I plan to use this feed as a home for conversations, interviews, audio journals, and the projects I'm creating moving forward. In this episode:• Why it's important to tell people how you feel• The difference between letting go and letting someone back in• How grudges can quietly drain your energy• Why life is too short to assume people already know how much they matter• The evolving vision for the Daryl Perry PodcastIf there's someone you appreciate, care about, or haven't spoken to in a while, consider reaching out. What if getting dressed became less about managing perception…and more about self-expression and shaping our experience? In this episode of the Advancing Women Podcast, Dr. DeSimone explores the surprising emotional depth behind something that initially seems lighthearted: overdressing for no reason, Disney ears on a cruise, bold earrings, sparkle, whimsy, and the idea that maybe “less is more” has quietly turned into a life philosophy that asks us all to become smaller versions of ourselves. Inspired by a series of Instagram and TikTok posts about “normalizing overdressing,” “living in gray,” and reclaiming joy, this episode dives into: Why “YOU are the occasion” is such a powerful reframe. The psychology of Enclothed Cognition and how clothing can influence mood, confidence, and emotional experience. The cultural pressure toward neutrality, practicality, and emotional minimization. Why so many women are socialized to tone themselves down and avoid being “too much.” How adulthood became associated with restraint, muted joy, & “emotionally beige” living. The connection between joy, self-expression, visibility, and the concept of Deferred Life. Why reclaiming whimsy may actually be an act of self-reclamation. From Disney ears and pirate night themes to the “closet graveyard” of aspirational purchases and unworn outfits, this episode reflects on what it means to stop postponing aliveness and start fully participating in your own life. Because maybe being “too much” was never actually the problem. Maybe too many of us were simply taught that joy should be quieter than it deserves to be. Key Takeaways: • Less is not always more • Whimsy is not immaturity • Joy is not frivolous • Self-expression is not a character flaw • You do not need a special occasion to fully show up inside your own life So wear the fancy dress. Use the good perfume. Drink the good wine. Wear the ears. Take the photo. Because life is short. And Less is BORE! This sequel was a huge hit last weekend, so we decided to catch up with it. Plus, we apparently reviewed the first "Mortal Kombat" five years ago, which wasn't a particularly memorable experience for either of us. Karl Urban IS Johnny Cage. As video game adaptations go, it's not terrible, but it's also not stupid enough. In theaters. MARTY, LIFE IS SHORT. The delightful Martin Short is the subject of this warm and affectionate documentary. Name someone you love from the Canadian comedy world and they're probably in this movie. Lawrence Kasdan's film features intimate home movies and candid interviews. Streaming on Netflix. THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL.
