"In this solo episode, host Terry Gwaltney tackles a question most men never stop to ask themselves: who are you when the job, the title, the role, or the reputation you've built your identity around gets stripped away? Through the story of a successful businessman who lost it all, along with illustrations from Florence Chadwick's famous swim and Alfred Nobel's obituary, Terry unpacks how isolation, pride, and performance-based identity set men up for a fall — and how failure is an event, not an identity. Drawing from Ephesians 2:10 and Romans 8:1, he challenges men to stop performing their way into worth and instead let a secure identity in Christ produce the action. The episode closes with a call to find a "corner man," get honest about past failure, and use that story to bring hope to someone else still stuck in it — plus an invite to the October Man Up Adventure Camp.Ready to go deeper? Pick up Terry's book Mantality: A Tactical Field Guide for Men — a blueprint for becoming the kind of man this world desperately needs. [School of Everything Else 2026] This is one of the most significant shows we have ever recorded and took an immense amount of research, preparation and editing. It has been a very long time coming, as the landscape of how we watch, play, read and listen to things changed. In the wake of Sony's announcement that they are ending production on physical discs for the PlayStation, coupled with the culling of hundreds of movies, TV shows and documentaries that customers purchased legally and now no longer have access to, a huge amount of people are waking up to the alarming, impermanent realities of the streaming-only future we have all been pushed into. In the immortal words of The Doors, 'The time to hesitate is through.' This discussion is about gaining perspective on how we got here and then restarting or indeed jumpstarting your collections of physical media. Is it the Boomers who project their own lived experience to urge younger generations to just buckle down, put their nose to the grindstone, pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and everything will eventually be OK? Or is it those younger generations whose own lived experience is an ever-escalating cost of living driven primarily by an invasion of tens of millions of third-worlders competing for every scarce American resource—housing, healthcare, education, employment, infrastructure, food—even burritos!—and EVERYTHING ELSE? **Clay Edwards Show – Episode 1,273 with Creston Burch** Clay opens by addressing a viral claim that his “brother” was involved in a Rankin County home invasion and standoff. He sets the record straight: he has no brother (half, step, or otherwise), calls out the usual online crew for running with the false story, and notes the irony of people eager to talk about someone else's family when their own records tell a different tale. The conversation shifts into a music-heavy stretch marking two milestones. Clay looks back 25 years to the Crazy 8 college nights and the old flyers that packed the place, then marks the 15th anniversary of Warrant frontman Jani Lane's death. He shares personal memories of seeing Warrant open for Motley Crue, the Blood, Sweat & Beers tour at the Coliseum, and promoting them years later. That sparks a rundown of hair-metal history—how labels manufactured some of the late-era bands, the rise of copycat acts, Autograph's unlikely shot opening for Van Halen after a jogging-buddy connection with David Lee Roth, Skid Row's success during the Nirvana wave, Tesla, and more. From there the show turns to the WNBA. Clay and Creston dig into the Sophie Cunningham incident, the Indiana Fever coach's postgame comments, and the broader pattern of on-court physicality and off-court rhetoric. Clay questions the high rate of openly lesbian and “stud” identities in women's basketball and softball compared with other sports, asks what is happening inside those locker rooms and programs, and ties it to larger cultural pressure around transgender athletes in women's sports and the refusal to define basic terms. The episode also covers the appointment of a Muslim municipal judge in Mississippi. Clay discusses the strong public reaction (including from people who usually stay quiet), questions how and why the selection happened, notes the limited power of a municipal bench, and points listeners toward a planned interview with the judge on another show for a closer look. Throughout, the tone stays unfiltered: accountability, cultural double standards, free speech, and skepticism of narratives that ignore root causes or basic reality. Classic Clay Edwards Show territory—music nostalgia mixed with sharp takes on sports, crime, identity politics, and local power.

Drop us a note about the podcast. A single morning prayer can hold a lot: grief, anger, fear, and the stubborn hope that God still hears us. We open with Psalm 5 and the kind of raw language most people feel but rarely say out loud, then we face a real-world tragedy that raises uncomfortable questions about responsibility, law, and what a society tolerates when consequences feel optional. From there, we pivot to a deceptively simple line from Hebrews 13:4: “Marriage must be honored in every respect.” We get specific about what “honor” looks like when nobody is technically breaking rules. If we have hours for sports, scrolling, hobbies, shopping, or friends, but “no time” for our spouse, what are we really saying with our calendar? This is Christian marriage talk grounded in daily habits, not vague romance. We also read Acts 25 and trace the pressure points where justice turns political, then connect it to Proverbs 18:19 on how conflict can lock relationships behind gates. Along the way, we remember uncommon courage through a Medal of Honor story, and we pull in American history with Andrew Jackson's warning about concentrated power and unequal treatment under the law. The through line stays the same: faith has principles, and “compromise” is not wisdom when it means trading those principles away.If you want more Scripture, more clarity, and more practical challenge for your home and your nation, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show.#Marriage#AndrewJackson#ChristianNationSupport the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribeCountryside Book Serieshttps://www.amazon.com/Countryside-Book-J-T-Cope-IV-ebook/dp/B00MPIXOB2 America's Christian Heritage Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/2622483

Follow Up  01:10 Linux kernel team publishes 432 CVEs in two days Update: Linux Kernel CVE Volume The Linux kernel team published 432 CVEs in a two-day span, continuing the high-volume vulnerability disclosure approach the kernel security team adopted after taking over CVE assignment duties directly. This follows the kernel team’s earlier decision to assign CVEs to a broad range of bug fixes, including minor or low-severity code changes, rather than reserving CVEs strictly for exploitable security flaws. The practice remains controversial among sysadmins and security teams, since large batches of CVEs can overwhelm vulnerability scanners, patch management systems, and compliance reporting workflows. For cloud operators running custom or long-term-support kernels, this reinforces the need for tooling that can filter and triage kernel CVEs by actual risk rather than treating every entry as an urgent patch target. The recurring pattern suggests this is now standard operating procedure for the kernel team rather than a one-time anomaly, so listeners managing fleets of Linux-based cloud infrastructure should expect similar large CVE batches going forward. 01:46 Justin – “Everyone is doing a lot of patching these days.”  04:42 I tried out OpenAI’s new AI keypad — which will be fun for some coders and slightly mystifying to everyone else

In this episode of The Other Six Podcast, we talk about why every person is wired to chase wonder, how our perspective shifts when our view of God grows, and why so many of us settle for temporary things instead of the lasting glory of God. We also unpack the difference between God's punishment and His refining work, what it looks like to trust His sovereignty when life feels out of control, and why sharing your personal story is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen the faith of others. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by your circumstances, struggled to let go of control, or wondered what God is doing in a difficult season, this conversation will encourage you to lift your eyes and remember this simple truth: The bigger your view of God, the better your view of everything else.

You memorised it once. So why can't you remember it now? Every hafidh who forgets. Every student of knowledge who studied for years and can barely recall a hadith today. It's not random, and it's definitely not just "old age" or a bad memory. There's a reason knowledge disappears. And it's tied to something most people never think about: a Zakah you owe on what you know - one that has nothing to do with money. Skip it, and Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak said one of three things happens to you. One of them is terrifying. In this episode, Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble breaks down: - Why the Qur'an and knowledge you once had start slipping away - The hidden "Zakah" scholars say you owe on your knowledge - What actually happens when you don't pay it - Why some of the most knowledgeable people end up remembering nothing - And the one habit that makes knowledge grow instead of fade If you've ever memorised something - Qur'an, a hadith, a Dua - and later realised it's gone... this episode explains exactly why. It is an independent, serialised concept musical, released across nine digital EPs from December 2022 through to December 2024 by Jorge Rivera-Herrans (who also plays Odysseus, amongst others). And this took a certain portion of the Internet by storm, garnering fan projects to animate each of the songs, all of which you can find assembled here in one 2h 22m work of collaborative passion made on one iota the budget of Nolan's IMAX titan. Willow showed this to us on Christmas day and the music and handling of the many characters really stuck with us. This is the most excited I've been about a musical since Hamilton and the original Moana. Statistically, almost none of you have heard this, so we specifically crafted this show to introduce what Jorge and company achieved here and hopefully get a bunch of new people with these catchy-ass songs bouncing round their heads. This is DreamWorks' Prince of Egypt and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas to Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods & Kings and his Robin Hood. This week's After School Club: Ulysses 31 Next week: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

"Geometry is the cilantro of math. People are not neutral about it," says Jordan Ellenberg. The mathematician is aware not everyone loves math like he does. But his book is not about the kind of geometry some people feel intimidated by. It's about geometry as a way of thinking. As a method of reasoning and argument. And as a system for making sense of the world. *This episode originally aired on May 11, 2022.Guest in this episode:Jordan Ellenberg is a mathematician is a child prodigy. Tried to think about one word that describes this past year and it was tough lol. But the word I kept coming back to was simplicity.Let's talk about some thoughts I've been having as I had my birthday this past weekend and turned 31. A lot of these thoughts revolve around simplifying my approach to nutrition, fitness, being a dad, relationships, business, and life in general.I think a lot of us assume getting older and improving means adding more. But sometimes growth comes from removing the unnecessary stuff and putting more time, energy + attention into the things that actually matter.Where to find me:IG: @lukesmithrdCheck out my website HEREFill out a 1:1 Coaching Application HERETIA for listening!! Comment on this episode by going to KDramaChat.com Today, we'll be discussing Episode 12 of Our Unwritten Seoul, the hit K Drama on Netflix starring Park Bo Young as Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae, and Jinyoung as Lee Ho Su. We discuss: Guest host Ernabel Demillo joins us once again to share her insights on episode 12, discusses her Emmy-winning Asian American Life, and tells us about attending the Korean American Community Foundation gala featuring the singers behind KPop Demon Hunters. The songs we featured during the recap: I Love You Grandma by Lee So Young Our Tomorrow by Nam Hye Seung and Cho Mira Come Back Home by Nam Hye Seung and Park Sang Hee Why Korean drama OSTs are so memorable, how they're created specifically for each series, and how Korea's entertainment industry makes drama soundtracks an integral part of the storytelling. Why the finale feels so satisfying, with nearly every major character finding healing, purpose, and a hopeful new beginning instead of relying on last-minute twists. Ho Su and Mi Ji's relationship reaches a new stage as they exchange couple's rings, introduce each other to their mothers, and quietly begin planning a future together. Mi Rae's decision to leave corporate life behind to run the strawberry farm, why that choice represents healing rather than giving up, and Se Jin's patient support as they follow separate paths before finding each other again. The redemption of Hyeon Sang Wol, who finally learns to read, discovers Kim Rosa's heartfelt poems for herself, and comes full circle by giving a poetry reading. The legal consequences facing Park Sang Yeong and the moral complexities surrounding Lee Chung Gu's decision to personally represent Mi Rae. The emotional portrayal of the grandmother's final days, the family's decision to bring her home, and a thoughtful discussion about end-of-life care, advance directives, and letting loved ones go peacefully. The mothers' remarkable growth, as Ok Hui finally embraces her own dreams of becoming an artist while Bun Hong and Ok Hui move beyond years of misunderstanding to become genuine friends. What we're watching now, including My Royal Nemesis, Something in the Rain, We Are All Trying Here, You and Everything Else, Admiral: Roaring Currents, and a preview of next week's K Drama 101 special with Malcolm Reilly. How Much Is Enough? A Volume Dose Response | ETP221

We have covered volume a handful of times on the podcast — ETP#167 (Personalizing Your Training Volume), ETP#188 (Quality Volume), and most recently ETP#207 (The Training Volume Model). This one comes at it from a different angle: not "what's the right number of sets," but how that number can change over a training career as skill as a lifter improves. The whole thing started with Aaron's quads. They used to be the body part he was almost ashamed of, and now they're on par with everything else. Except he only trains them once a week, six sets, and they're in shambles for five or six days afterward. That low a dose creating that much stimulus had Aaron questioning a lot of things, mainly: what actually makes a lagging body part lag? Is it genetics, or is it that you just haven't figured out how to contract the muscle well enough yet? Aaron's honest belief is leaning hard toward the second one.So we get into the precision side of volume. Why a row isn't always a 1.0 stimulus, why your weak points might not need more sets so much as better execution, how strength curves explain why back and delts get buried under volume while quads light up off almost nothing, and how to actually manipulate all of this with rep ranges and resistance profiles. Plus some personal updates up top, including one of Aaron's that went unexpectedly viral.Covered in this episode:Why volume needs can drop as your precision and skill improve, and the asterisk on "more volume is better until it isn't"Aaron's theory that lagging body parts lag because you haven't learned to contract them well — not because of geneticsThe Kyle Baxter pronation/foot-pressure cue that finally unlocked Aaron's quadsWhy quads hold post-workout stimulus for days when nothing else does (blood flow, lengthened overload, and the fact that we walk on our legs)Strength curve vs resistance curve, and why short-overloaded muscles like delts and back need more volume to reach the same inroadsThe leaning lateral raise trick — disadvantaging your own bad habit to force a better stimulusUsing the 15/10/5 rep scheme to go short on the high-rep sets and lengthened on the low-rep setsPrioritization: deprioritize what's already good and pour the days into what you actually want to bring upHamstrings/biceps vs quads/triceps, the cramp problem, and why some muscles just don't follow the same rulesTimestamps: 00:00 Intro: How Much Is Enough? + The Prior Volume Episodes 01:00 Bryan's Update: 15/10/5 and Why Full Body Is "For the Birds" 03:00 Aaron's Personal Update + The Post That Went Viral 05:00 The 1989 LA Raiders Mug 06:00 The Real Topic: Volume Dose Response Per Muscle Group 07:00 Can Precision Change Your Volume Needs? 08:00 Aaron's Quads: From Lagging to Wrecked on Six Sets 09:00 What Actually Makes a Lagging Body Part? 10:00 Lengthened Overload and Leaning Into the Stretch 12:00 Squat Variables: Stance, Knee Tracking, Foot Pressure 13:00 The Kyle Baxter Pronation Cue 15:00 Aaron's Current Quad Setup (Leg Extension + Squat Pattern) 17:00 Six Sets, Shattered for Days + Repeated Bout Effect 21:00 The Post-Workout Stimulus Window: Quads vs Everything Else 22:00 Double the Chest Volume, Lower the Stimulus 23:00 The "Washing Your Hair" Delt Test 24:00 Splitting Volume vs One Big Day 25:00 Aaron's Theory: Lagging = Not Contracting Well Yet 27:00 The Leaning Lateral Raise (Disadvantaging the Shrug) 29:00 Strength Curve vs Resistance Curve 30:00 Why Beginners Can't Feel Their Legs 31:00 Blood Flow, Bro Splits, and Dispersed Stimulus 33:00 Prioritizing: Deprioritize What's Already Good 34:00 Building a Program Around Your Weak Points 35:00 Aaron's Back Days: High Volume, Still Can't Feel It 37:00 Why Back and Delts Need More Volume 38:00 Manipulating Resistance Profiles Across a Whole Day 39:00 The 15/10/5: Short on the Highs, Lengthened on the Lows 41:00 The Asterisk on "More Volume Is Better" 42:00 A Row Isn't Always a 1.0 Stimulus 43:00 Finding the Rep Range Before Weight Takes Over 44:00 Pausing in the Short Position to Build the Pattern 47:00 Hamstrings, Biceps, and the Cramp Problem 49:00 Biceps Femoris: Pullers vs Pushers 50:00 Why Quads Are Just Different Post-Workout 52:00 Closing: Training Maturity and Looking Inward Work 1:1 with Aaron ⬇️https://strakernutritionco.com/nutrition-coaching-apply-now/Done For You Client Check-In System for Coaches ⬇️https://strakernutritionco.com/macronutrient-reporting-check-in-template/Paragon Training Methods Programming ⬇️https://paragontrainingmethods.comFollow Bryan's Evolved Training Systems Programming ⬇️https://evolvedtrainingsystems.comFind Us on Social Media  ⬇️IG | @Eat.Train.ProsperIG | @bryanboorsteinIG | @aaron_strakerYT | EAT TRAIN PROSPER PODCAST

HS2 was conceived at a cost of £37.5 billion and originally supposed to link London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. It will now connect only two stations outside London and Birmingham at a projected cost of more than £100 billion, and perhaps won't even be ‘high speed'. To discuss what this failure tells us about Britain's capacity to build things and the consequences for our everyday lives, James is joined by Gillian Plimmer, the FT's infrastructure correspondent, and Matthew Lawrence, director of Common Wealth. They discuss the unique features of the UK's ‘outsourcing state', beset by bloated projects weighed down by the increasing costs of private capital, and the long, corrosive impact of the failure of David Cameron's government to invest in infrastructure when borrowing was cheap.
