Pastor Clay NeSmith takes a fresh look at one of the most familiar verses in the Bible—John 3:16. This message explores what it truly means to "not perish" and how Jesus offers more than a future in heaven. Through Christ, we can experience purpose, healing, restored relationships, renewed faith, and abundant life today.Discover how God's love reconnects us to the source of life and empowers us to live the life He created us to live.
Pastor Blake Burrough tackles one of the most challenging tensions in our faith: how do we reconcile God's perfect law with our inability to keep it? We discover that Jesus didn't come to lower the bar or make following God easier; instead, He came to fulfill every requirement we could never meet. The sermon confronts our natural tendency to either relax God's commands when they're inconvenient or distort them into a ladder we think we can climb to earn approval. We're invited to examine those places where we buck against Scripture, where we ask, 'Did God really mean that?' because those uncomfortable moments reveal where we're still trying to manufacture our own righteousness. The beautiful paradox emerges: Jesus kept the law perfectly and paid the penalty for lawbreakers, so that we who break the law might receive all the blessings of the perfect law keeper. This transforms the law from a burden into a garden, from a ladder into a walking path that leads us deeper into a relationship with Christ. We're challenged to move beyond both self-abuse and self-proving, recognizing that our value doesn't come from how well we perform but from whose we are.

John 16 : 23 - 33 23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25 "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. 28 I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father." 29 His disciples said to Him, "See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! 30 Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God." 31 Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? 32 Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Glory be to God forever.

Homily for 5th Sunday of Easter Year A
In a world full of conflicting voices telling us how to live, where do we find the wisdom to navigate life well? This Sunday, we explored what it means to be "good on the way" — following Jesus as the path to life, understanding God as the true measure of goodness, and discovering how His kindness and grace empower us to live well. Key Points: → The Way to Life — Jesus calls us to follow Him, not just hear about Him → What is Good? — God alone defines goodness, and He invites us to experience it → Being Good on the Way — God's goodness is surprising, undeserved, and sometimes inconvenient — but always worth it Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6, Matthew 5:14, John 14:6, Romans 2:4 Whether you're exploring faith for the first time or have been walking with Jesus for years, this message is a reminder that God's kindness catches us off guard — and His grace is what leads us home.
John 3:1-8, Ezekiel 36:25-27 Following on from last week's talk about who the real Jesus of the gospels is, today we consider the sort of life he promises to bring. In his interaction with Nicodemus, Jesus promises something more radical than any religious, political or social leader has ever offered. He says that what humanity's needs goes beyond sociological, economic, or political revolutions, and beyond psychological revolutions. Jesus says humanity's problems all stem from a spiritual problem, so only a spiritual solution will do. He says everyone must be born again. Only with the spiritual cleansing, washing and refreshing of the new birth found in him and by his Spirit, will lives be fundamentally changed. As God himself, Jesus is uniquely able to provide this for all who turn to him. By Ed Flint
“Jesus: The Author of Resurrection | Apostle Vincent Loate | From Death to Life”Jesus is not just the Savior — He is the Author of resurrection life.In this powerful and life-transforming message, Apostle Vincent Loate reveals how Jesus Christ brings life where there was death, hope where there was despair, and victory where there was defeat. Through Him, we are raised into a new reality of power, purpose, and eternal life.
Worry has a way of quietly filling the mind—about the future, finances, work, relationships, and everything in between. In Matthew 6:33–34, Jesus speaks directly into that pressure, not by dismissing our concerns, but by redirecting our focus. Instead of being consumed by tomorrow, He invites us to seek God first today and trust Him with what’s ahead. Freedom from worry isn’t about never feeling anxious thoughts—it’s about learning where to place them. Jesus teaches that life is lived one day at a time, with God as our provider and guide. When we shift our focus from what we can’t control to the One who holds everything together, worry begins to lose its grip. Peace grows when trust becomes our daily response. Highlights Worry is common—but it doesn’t have to control your life Jesus doesn’t shame worry; He redirects our focus Seeking God first reshapes how we handle anxiety about tomorrow Living one day at a time helps reduce mental overwhelm Prayer is a practical way to release anxious thoughts to God Filling your mind with truth helps quiet spiraling thoughts Peace grows when trust in God becomes your default response Do you want to listen ad-free? Full Transcript Below: The Desire to Be Free from WorryBy Vivian Bricker Bible Reading:“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” - Matthew 6:33-34 (NLT) Worry weighs heavily on most of us. Tight deadlines at work, endless tests in college, and difficult financial situations can cause us to worry. To worry is to be human. Although many of us may feel ashamed for worrying, we must remember that it is a part of life. We can trust God and still feel worried about certain circumstances. Worry does not equate to a lack of faith in God. Rather, worry is simply what it is: being afraid or doubtful about what will happen. Worry can completely control our lives if we let it; however, we can also stand up to it. My dad and I are avid walkers, and we often come across many cyclists. What I have noticed about most cyclists is that their biggest concern is speed. Many of them ride with a forward lean, as it helps them become more aerodynamic and enhances their speed. However, there is one cyclist we occasionally see who is different from the others. Rather than being hunched over and focused on speed, he simply rides his bike, plays music from a loudspeaker, and appears to be free from worry: laid back, relaxed, and genuinely happy to be there. As he passed us one day, I told my dad, “I wish I could be that relaxed.” I think most of us feel the same way… to be free from worry and to genuinely enjoy the little things in life. While I’m sure this cyclist has worries at times, he also seems to know when to let them go and focus on what brings him joy. This is something we should aim to do in our own lives. While our worries may not disappear, we can learn to set them apart from other areas of our lives. The first step in easing these worries is to turn to God in prayer and reading the Bible. Intersecting Faith & Life: Jesus tells us, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (Matthew 6:33-34, NLT). Rather than endlessly worrying about what is to come, we need to surrender these worries to God (1 Peter 5:7). As the Lord says, we are to focus on the Kingdom of God and live in obedience to Him. This means focusing on the present and faithfully living out God’s teachings found in Scripture. If we choose the path of worry, it will be difficult to stay focused on God. Worry can cause us to spiral further. Yet it can be eased by talking with God. Tell Him why you are worried. Be honest with Him. He will never downplay your concerns or treat them as unimportant. It is also helpful to think about things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8-9). Fixing our minds on these things can help quiet our worries. Instead of dwelling on the concerns of today or tomorrow, reflect on the beauty around you—the trees, a joyful call from a friend, or a warm hug from a loved one. Pray to God whenever worry rises in your heart. Let’s go to Him together: Dear God, I want to be free from worry. You know how worry creeps into my mind every day. At times, it feels like it could drown me. Help me to rise above the worry and to reflect upon Your Son’s words. Guide my heart after Your Kingdom and to live for You. Remove my anxious, worried heart and replace it with a steadfast, unwavering heart. Thank You for listening to my prayers, God. In Your Son’s Name, I pray, Amen. What are your most common worries? How can you apply Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33-34 to your life? Why We Struggle to Receive the Life Jesus Offers (John 5:1-17) || 03.29.26 by OrlandoGrace
Grief during Easter can feel overwhelming, especially when the season of celebration highlights the absence of someone you love. While Easter centers on the resurrection of Jesus and the promise of new life, it can also stir deep sorrow and longing. John 16:22 reminds us that although we experience grief now, a day is coming when our sorrow will turn to unshakable joy. This devotional gently acknowledges the tension between grief and hope. It affirms that mourning is not a lack of faith but a reflection of love. Even as we carry the weight of loss, Easter invites us to hold onto the promise that Jesus has overcome death. Because of Him, grief is not the end of the story—restoration, reunion, and eternal joy are ahead. Highlights Easter can intensify grief as it reminds us of loved ones who are no longer here Grief is a natural and meaningful expression of deep love Knowing a loved one is with God doesn’t remove the pain of their absence Jesus acknowledges our grief while promising future joy and restoration Easter offers hope because Christ has overcome sin and death We can grieve and worship at the same time—God welcomes both Healing begins when we bring our honest emotions before the Lord The promise of eternity gives us hope for reunion and lasting joy This episode is sponsored by Trinity Debt Management. Many of us experience immense grief, pain, and sorrow. Because of the annual tradition of leaving flowers on the graves of our loved ones on Good Friday, it can be difficult to return to a heart of celebration. Every year since my mom passed away, my family and I have taken flowers to her grave. I cannot fully explain what this experience feels like, but over time, it can leave you feeling empty inside. It doesn’t feel right knowing that your mother is buried beneath the ground. This is a pain I wish no one had to experience, yet most of us will face it at some point in our lives. My mom passed away when I was a teenager, but I believe the pain of losing a loved one is intense, no matter your age. Even if your parents pass away when you are much older, it is still painful to say goodbye. This is because death is not natural. It was never part of God’s original design for humanity to die. He created us to live forever. However, the fall of humankind changed everything (Genesis 3). Since that moment, we have had to live in a world marked by sin, pain, suffering, illness, and death. While I know my mom is in Heaven with God, I still miss her deeply, and the pain can be overwhelming at times. Just because we know our loved ones are in a better place does not mean our grief disappears. Here on earth, we still feel their absence. There will never be another Easter where my mom is physically with me. She didn’t see me graduate from college. She never saw me drive my first car, and she will not see the rest of my life unfold. Perhaps you are experiencing your first Easter without someone you love, and grief feels especially heavy on your heart. Intersecting Faith & Life: Jesus tells us, “So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy” (John 16:22). Even though Easter can remind us of our pain, it also reminds us of the beautiful salvation we have through Jesus. Death entered the world, but Jesus has overcome it (1 Corinthians 15:55-58). Praise the Lord that we do not have to live without the hope of seeing our loved ones again. We will see them again, and no one will ever take away our joy. As Jesus said, now may be our time of grief. In this present season, we must allow grief to exist within us. This is something I have had to learn. I no longer see grief as an enemy. Instead, it reminds me of how deeply I love my mom. I will not see her again in this life, but I will see her again in Heaven. When we reflect on this truth, the weight of sorrow begins to lift because we have eternity to look forward to. This Easter, remember Jesus’ amazing grace and how He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into His Kingdom (Colossians 1:13-14). On Easter, we can grieve, but we can also worship God. Even through tears, we can worship our powerful and loving Savior. Jesus does not demand that we always appear happy or put together. Instead, He welcomes our honest hearts and invites us to bring our true feelings before Him. The love of the Lord far surpasses any love we experience on this earth. That is why He gave His life for our sins. As we reflect on this truth, we can praise Him for what He has done. God will restore all things in His perfect timing. On that day, no one will ever take away our joy. Are you grieving this Easter? How might you bring those feelings honestly before the Lord? Grief can be a reflection of the love we have for those we’ve lost. Does thinking about grief this way change how you view it? Why or why not? We tend to imagine temptation as something obvious. Flashing red lights. Dramatic music. Easy to spot. But the most dangerous temptations don't look dangerous at all. They look like good ideas. Like efficient solutions. Like shortcuts. This Sunday we're looking at Jesus in the wilderness and what his temptations reveal about how the enemy works — and how we can navigate it wisely.

At the start of His ministry, Jesus didn't deliver a lecture, creed, or doctrinal checklist. He extended an invitation: “Come and see. Follow Me.” In this opening message of The Jesus Road, we explore what Jesus meant when He said He was “the Way.” Before we understand everything about Jesus, we are called to walk with Him—to shape our lives around His way of living. This sermon encourages both seekers and believers to follow Jesus with their hands, habits, and daily actions, trusting that obedience comes before understanding and that walking in the Way leads us into the Truth and Life Jesus promises.

You're already one with Him.
