paulasbell.com“Paul Asbell’s ‘Steel String Americana’ is a wonderful album! What I keep coming back to is how musical it is…. I’ve actually been a fan of Paul’s guitar playing for quite a few years- I think he’s one of the best-kept secrets in American music today!” David Bromberg , acoustic guitar legend“A genre-blurring, virtuosic waltz through the deep heritage of American folklore, where styles of Robert Johnson, Doc Watson and Dr. John rub elbows with those of Joe Pass and Bill Frisell.” Flynn Theater, Burlington, VT’s 1500 seat performing arts venue

Katie Trautz (www.katietrautz.com) is a native Vermont fiddler who has toured nationally and internationally sharing traditional music and original folk songs."It's almost hard to believe that Vermont folk music heroine Katie Trautz and her musical partner Julia Wayne have been performing as a duo for 15 years. These two talented young women simply don't seem old enough for that. The sound that these longtime musical buddies have created on Sweet Is the Morning, their third album as Mayfly, is mature and solid. It showcases not only their deep roots in Vermont traditional fiddling, plaintive vocalizing and harmony singing but also their understanding and love of Southern folk music." - Robert Resnik, VPR, All the Traditions, Sevendays Magazine
"An acoustic blues master with a genuine feel for the classic works of such blues legends as Robert Johnson, Son House and Leadbelly, Tolstrup slides and slashes up and down the neck of his National Steel guitar as effortlessly as if he was born with it in his hands.-Greg Haymes - Albany Times Union Joined by Jill Burnham on vocals, Woody Strobeck on trombone, Frank Orsini on fiddle and Tony Markellis on bass. Together they produce a sound from the roots of American music moaning low with the blues and rollicking with the joy of traditional jazz of New Orleans.Mark Tolstrup and his band mate Jill Burnham were also recent winners of the Regional International Blues Challenge held at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, NY. They will travel to Memphis in January 2020 to compete in the International Blues Challenge Competition.
