In November of 2023, Diamond's sister company InnovaScript became the official pharmacy partner to the Victoria's Voice Foundation, a non-profit drug education and addiction prevention support organization founded in memory of Victoria Siegel, a young woman who tragically lost her life to an accidental drug overdose. At the heart of this new partnership is the #GetGiveSave campaign, a national effort to increase the access to and the awareness of naloxone. On this episode, we welcome Mark Cady-Archilla, corporate partnerships director for the Victoria's Voice Foundation; Jason Baker, director of strategic initiatives for Diamond; and Chris Bender, pharmacist with Diamond's OPTICS team for a deeper discussion of this partnership and what it's doing to put naloxone in more lifesaving locations. Along the way, Mark gives us a greater introduction to Victoria's Voice (and shares his deeply personal connection to the foundation's work), we recap the efficacy and life-saving simplicity of naloxone, and we discuss the barriers of naloxone stigma and access, among many other areas of discussion. It's a longer conversation, but there's no shortage of powerful moments to be heard. Brion looks at week 7 opponent Wisconsin and the games played from 1894 until the Nile Kinnick days through 1939. There are almost 100 games played between the two teams, and Iowa is 45-49-2 all-time. The Hawks lost the first 6 games in the series, including the famous "rabbit game" of 1907. That game also has a game program you can download. There is also a series of goal post teardowns in 1928 and 1929 that lead to near brawls, which reminded me of the 2002 Minnesota game in the Metrodome, so listen for that in the podcast, and check out the articles to read more. Iowa had its own winning streak from 1977 to 1996, when the Hawks were 17-0-1 (tied in 1984), but fortunately Iowa didn't play two Wisconsin Rose Bowl teams in 1993 and 1994. I'll highlight the other games after 1939 in a future podcast. Player profile this week are Jason Baker and Matt Bowen. Both players played under both Hayden Fry and Kirk Ferentz, and both played multiple years in the NFL. Jason Baker from Green Mountain Grills has been on a 3 week long tour of showcasing the all new grill to current and potential dealers. The conversation, however, will be superb!9:35pm - After the Jason Baker segment, we will switch gears and talk to our pal Derrick Riches. The first time I met Adam LaRoche and Jason Baker was minutes before we recorded these interviews. What little I knew about both, Baker for his years of work with Dream Traxx and Moto Sandbox, LaRoche for his purposeful end to a twelve-year career in Major League Baseball, turned out to be the big reasons behind Red Bull Imagination. LaRoche's interest in motocross expanded when he retired from baseball, and after some research on private tracks, he messaged Baker to build one on the family's Kansas spread. One thing led to another, like the cornfield track for Ryan Dungey's Red Bull video, and soon Baker talked Tyler Bereman into visiting the site for his own project.
For centuries, families have passed down their wealth from one generation to the next. However, with the modern-day challenges, the need for a more formalized approach to multi-generational wealth stewardship has never been greater. In this episode, Doug and Greg talk with Jason Baker, a former NFL punter who is now the CEO and Partner at Paterson Center. This organization helps individuals and organizations be very intentional about their strategy and performance. After going through a life plan with one of the best strategic planning facilitators, Jason found clarity in the next act in his life. Today, he got licensed to hold all the Paterson licensing in his private practice. Jason talks with Doug and Greg about how he transitioned from playing football to owning a consulting firm, what Paterson Center can offer clients, and his approach to creating a life plan for families with different dynamics. Key Takeaways [01:07] - A brief overview of Jason's NFL career. [04:43] - How Jason transitioned from being an athlete to owning a consulting firm. [06:18] - What Paterson Center can offer clients. [08:09] - How LifePlan and StratOp work for families. [13:11] - In what ways Paterson practices accountability for its strategies. [16:59] - How Jason creates a life plan for families with different dynamics. [21:48] - The timeline for creating a family constitution. [26:07] - How Jason markets their services to attract new clients. [28:27] - The type of family Paterson Center usually works with. [33:27] - What Jason thinks is the most important role on an NFL team. Quotes [14:31] - "It's our job to recognize where the family wants to go and what needs to happen to get there. Then we'll certainly embrace getting there and maintaining our accountability." ~ Jason Baker [27:03] - "Our goal is always to do the best work we can that somehow we will be a blessing to the organizations and families we work with." ~ Jason Baker [32:40] - "We love the opportunity to help people do what they want with what they've got and what they've been blessed with in the world. Tyler Bereman had just unloaded his latest haul from Walmart into the barn at Adam LaRoche's home when we called. The building, complete with a bunkhouse, kitchen, full-size indoor basketball court, and baseball batting cage, is home base for Red Bull Imagination. And that supply run might have been the last time he goes anywhere other than the barn or the event site, located on a different part of LaRoche's property, in the next week. Being a namesake and a creative force behind an event comes with responsibilities. For Bereman, it means welcoming the nine riders on the entry list, revealing the all-natural course Jason Baker of DreamTraxx carved into the Kansas hillside, and competing during Saturday's final. But no role is more important than that of the guinea pig. TB knows how difficult it is to size up hundred-foot-plus hits and doesn't feel right asking others to jump something he hasn't. The sense of purpose helped Bereman overcome his most recent injury, a compound fracture of the ulna and radius in his right arm, just in time for Imagination. Red Bull Imagination will stream as a one-hour special on ESPN+ in the U.S. on September 25 and later through Red Bull's content channels.

Say, "NO," to snakeskin and python products under the LVMH brands like Louis Vuitton. PETA undercover investigators captured horrifying video of how python is used in LVMH premium-priced handbags, shoes, and wallets. LVMH denies any wrong-doing, but the video shows how snakes are denied a decent life and left sometimes for months in a bag to suffer. Just like fur is now dead in fashion, Jason Baker, PETA Sr. VP, PETA Asia, says PETA wants to see snakeskin become just like fur, its use declining as people reject cruelty in fashion. There is an old saying that goes, "if you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." This is certainly true when it comes to creating a life plan. Without a sense of purpose, it can be difficult to stay motivated and focused on what really matters. How can individuals and businesses discover their purpose and define a strategy? In today's episode, Tommy talks with Jason Baker, a former American football punter who now co-owns Paterson, an organization that helps individuals and organizations be very intentional about their strategy and performance. Having spent 11 years in the NFL, Jason has now taken the precision and discipline needed to be an elite punter into building Paterson. He is the third-generation steward of the company founded by Tom Paterson. You're frozen. Imagine if you're on a road trip and you pull up to a T-intersection, you don't know whether to go right or left. Most people don't just turn right or left. They sit there for a second, hoping for another data point that gives them clarity." - Jason Baker [31:23] - "What we learned during COVID is that a lot of companies had to contract. And leveraging the same system allowed them to prune very intelligently so that when they got to the next season their businesses were set to grow in the way they needed to grow." - Jason Baker Links Jason Baker The University of Iowa Carolina Panthers Paterson Center Paterson LifePlan Tom Paterson Tom Brady Peter Drucker Roy Disney Walt Disney The Walt Disney Company Space Mountain Burt Baskin Baskin-Robbins Ronald Raegan Connect with our hosts Mammoth Tommy on LinkedIn Subscribe and stay in touch Apple Podcasts Spotify Google Podcasts Learn more about Mammoth Scientific's Health & Tech Fund 1 When you move beyond the point of making sure your retirement goals are on track, your investment opportunities are wider than just publicly traded funds. In our first ever Christmas episode Ryan talks about the correct way to measure horses, Alyssa shares a bit of insight into what it's like being the worship leader of the biggest Lutheran Church in America during Christmastime, and Jeremy shames Jason Baker on his record vs Iowa State. But most importantly Jason shares some great insight on the life of an NFL player, a hilarious story about one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all-time, and the importance of living a meaningful life outside of football. AND our audio doesn't suck!
