    Internal communications post-COVID-19: a marathon, not a sprint

    When the world went into lockdown mid-March, businesses switched to remote working, many literally overnight. Internal comms departments had to quickly adapt to the crisis to reassure, motivate and plug information gaps for employees. There were stumbling blocks, but also clear business improvements: decision making became more agile, with executives patched into Teams calls as needed. A half-year in, little has returned to normal, with many employees still working from home. Temporary uncertainty has been replaced by a gnawing anxiety that jobs will be lost and the virus may return in force. When it comes to internal communications, this is going to be a marathon, not a sprint.
