In the electrifying conclusion to Tom Bilyeu's conversation with ex-CIA officer Andrew Bustamante, the lens widens to encompass today's global flashpoints. Andrew applies his framework of power, leverage, and outcomes to the powder keg of present-day geopolitics. From Covid conspiracies and biological warfare, to the rise of China, the fate of the U.S. dollar, and the shifting allegiances shaping the 21st century, Andrew breaks down how world leaders really make decisions—far removed from conventional morality. This part takes a deep dive into modern conflict zones including Russia-Ukraine, the Israel-Palestine crisis, and the West's declining grip amid new authoritarian contenders. Tom and Andrew wrestle with the hard questions: Are chemical and biological weapons just another leverage tool? Why are democracies struggling while strongman regimes rise? And what does the America-first, leverage-maximizing approach actually look like in real time? Buckle in for a rapid-fire tour through the next era of global power, what it has to do with everyday life, and why understanding the "spy playbook" has never mattered more. “That brings up a whole other point, which is the power of a voice's quality to bring a brand to life. A lot of clients are, like, just hire voiceover and just have them say the copy. And it's just, like, there's a place for Gilbert Gottfried and there's a place for, you know, John Lithgow. And I'm not saying we would use either of those, but you know, if I'm doing a commercial on a cancer care center, I would never have Gilbert Gottfried come on and say, I'm not, that's not, you know, that's like, that's... It would be memorable, but it would be completely the opposite of what the brand should be. It doesn't sound earnest. And that's how the voice you choose for a commercial is critical.” – Reid Holmes This episode is the second half of my conversation with keynote speaker, author, and mature brand revitalizer Reid Holmes as we talk about the role sound plays in his ad projects, the pros and cons of AI use in audio branding, and the key to building client trust with appreciated branding. As always, if you have questions for my guest, you're welcome to reach out through the links in the show notes. If you have questions for me, visit audiobrandingpodcast.com where you'll find a lot of ways to get in touch. Plus, subscribing to the newsletter will let you know when the new podcasts are available along with other interesting bits of audio-related news. And if you're getting some value from listening, the best ways to show your support are to share this podcast with a friend and leave an honest review. Both those things really help – and I'd love to feature your review on future podcasts. You can leave one either in written or in voice format from the podcast's main page. I would so appreciate that. (0:00:00) - The Power of Audio BrandingWe begin the second half of our discussion with Reid's thoughts on sonic logos, and we look at how effective they've been for such companies as Apple and Netflix. “Those things can be incredibly impactful because they say I'm entering a new world here,” he says. “I am now in the care of this other thing, I've gone through a doorway, I've come into this new world, and that is one of the biggest things audio cues can do.” We talk about synthetic voices, and Reid recalls a podcast's questionable use of a sonic persona. “You gotta be really careful,” he explains. “These sonic personas people are trying to chase to make another version of themselves, it's very slippery. It can do so much damage.”(0:08:19) - The Impact of AI on BrandingReid shares his own experience with AI assistance, and how its use in editing his book revealed both its strength and limitations. “Not doing it yourself is a disservice, I think,” he explains, “because then you don't know the intricacies of how things bounce off each other, and how ideas bounce off each other.” We discuss the challenges of networking and collaborating in an increasingly digital world, and how the shift to an online economy has affected many companies' marketing strategies. “A lot of brands are saying ‘we don't need any brand advertising, we just need to chase people all over the Internet and get our transactions,” he says. “My personal point of view is that's short-sighted.”(0:15:05) - The Future of Branding and AdvertisingAs our conversation comes to a close, Reid talks more about appreciated branding and its potential for building long-term brand loyalty. “On the customer lifetime value side of that equation,” he explains, “it's cheaper to sell to someone who already knows you and believes in you and has bought from you than to convince yet another new person.” We talk about his current projects,...

Most men want real connection. But as a father in midlife, where do you find it?   Dr. Andrew Fix talks with Jason Griffing, the founder of Pillars of Impact, a growing community for dads who want more than surface-level friendships. They explore what happens when fathers carve out space for honest conversations about marriage, parenting, purpose, and the parts of life that often get overlooked.   How do you show up with vulnerability when you're juggling kids, career, and a long to-do list? Why is it so easy to let your relationship take a back seat, even when you know better? Jason shares how the group's six pillars – parenting, marriage, wealth, mindset, fitness, and vocation – create structure for growth and a support system that feels personal, not performative.   This episode is a reminder that community doesn't build itself. And for many fathers, it starts with simply deciding to speak up, show up, and stay committed to something real.   Quotes “You get this kind of asymmetry of like I'm very locked in on the things that aren't going well in my life. And I'm seeing all of the things that are going incredibly well in everybody else's life. And that can be a really negative spiral and a kind of isolating factor in our lives.” (16:29 | Jason Griffing) “Sometimes you need some urgency in your life to sort of drive that productivity.” (20:32 | Jason Griffing) “It's so much easier to let yourself down than to let other people down.” (25:38 | Dr. Andrew Fix) “I'm a big believer in the power of ideas. The right ideas have really helped me lead a more impactful life from getting sober… All of these things start as an idea. And I think if we can really tap into the power of ideas, of course, they have to be coupled with action as well.” (52:22 | Jason Griffing) “In today's world, for all kinds of reasons, having real social connection and peer relationships is more important than ever.” (53:31 | Jason Griffing)   Links Connect with Jason Griffing: https://pillarsofimpact.com https://newsletter.pillarsofimpact.com/   SideKick Tool: https://bit.ly/4a6CqJS   Movemate:

Kyria Sabin began her journey with Pilates in 1991 while living in Los Angeles and working as an art gallery director. Teaching Pilates was never part of her original path. However, her lifelong interest in fitness led her to eventually catch the bug for Pilates. After attending a workshop with renowned Pilates "Elder" Ron Fletcher, he encouraged her to teach the method, though she initially resisted. Despite her intentions to head to law school, Kyria's passion for Pilates ultimately changed her trajectory, shaping her future as a leading educator in the field. Pete and Kyria continue on to discuss the origins of Fletcher Pilates, the evolution of teacher training, and what sets Pilates apart as a transformative practice with remarkable return on time invested. She opens up about the rigors of Pilates instructor certification, the expansion of Fletcher Pilates' international licensing program, and how the method's focus on quality movement has led to life-changing results for clients of all ages. On international expansion Sabin states, "After we developed the program, we had people coming in from Asia, Europe, South America . . . all wanting to study his [Ron's] lineage of the work. We quickly realized is that we could reach many more people if we sent teachers to those countries." Key themes discussed Growth and evolution of Pilates as a fitness modality. History and legacy of Fletcher Pilates. Intensive process of Pilates instructor certification. International expansion through licensing and teacher training. Impact of group classes and mass-market Pilates studios. Value of in-person Pilates versus online instruction. Pilates benefits for diverse age groups and populations. A few key takeaways:  1. Pilates as a Transformational Practice: Sabin's experience highlights how Pilates isn't just about exercise—it's about quality movement, efficiency, and transformative change in both mind and body. She shares her experiences being a client to realizing the profound physical benefits, describing it as a return on time investment with fantastic results. 2. Rigorous Teacher Training and Legacy: Unlike quick certifications in other fitness fields, becoming a Fletcher Pilates instructor is a comprehensive process that can take up to two years. Sabin emphasizes that students must first experience the work deeply themselves before teaching, underscoring the importance of depth and mastery in the method. 3. Pilates' Global Reach: The growth of Fletcher Pilates worldwide happened both organically and intentionally. Demand from students in Asia, Europe, and South America led to a licensing model, making it possible for people to access quality teaching without always having to travel extensively. This preserves the lineage while also expanding its reach. 4. Pilates for All Ages and Backgrounds: Kyria advocates for Pilates as a lifelong practice accessible to everyone from young people to seniors. She's seen significant improvements in posture, strength, and balance at all ages, and challenges the notion that older adults are limited to just "maintenance."  5. Personal Touch Still Matters: With the continued emergence of online and at-home Pilates offerings, Kyria remains firm on the value of in-person training, especially at the start of someone's practice. She believes the energy, supervision, and personal connection play a significant role in a student's success and safety, calling remote work more supplemental than foundational. We'll talk about why creating a symptom timeline was a game changer, and how understanding your patterns can lead to real, sustainable healing.   This isn't about shaming your coping mechanisms—this is about getting honest. It's about learning to sit with the hard feelings instead of avoiding them. Because growth doesn't come from checking boxes. Welcome back to Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu. In today's thought-provoking deep dive, Tom tackles a provocative question: What if the very things we've been told are destroying our system – waste, fraud, and abuse – are actually the glue holding it all together? Using compelling analogies and referencing both modern monetary theory and historical perspectives from Machiavelli, Tom reveals the foundational flaws in America's economic and political system. He explores why deficit spending isn't just common, but required, and exposes how our reliance on debt has created a cycle that keeps the rich getting richer and the poor falling further behind. From biblical wisdom to the hidden mechanics of the Federal Reserve, this episode challenges everything you thought you knew about power, politics, and the economy. Tom dissects the real reasons behind recent political theater — including the rise and fall of Doge and Elon Musk's controversial moves — and warns about the dangerous cliff our system is heading toward.
