It is with heavy, yet joyful hearts overflowing with gratitude that Kip and Evan dedicate this, their final episode of S.O.U.L. On Air to giving a loving farewell to the Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network family and their beloved listeners. It has been a year of - what can best be described - miraculous self-discovery and conscious evolution. It began with a Bernie Sanders inspired awakening of the possibility for collective change, and led to a complete immersion in all things 50th Anniversary Summer of Love, and the documenting of paradigm shifting successes of the counterculture born during that period.
Pack up a bong hit, roll a joint, eat an edible – if you feel so inclined – as this episode of Now Share Love Radio is all about the miracle plant known as Cannabis, marijuana, hemp. And as crazy as it may sound to some of you, this one, much maligned and demonized plant may hold the key to the future of humanity, just as it has been an essential part of our evolution for the past fifty thousand years.
In this, the beginning of Summer installment of NowShareLove Radio, Kip and Evan could think of no better topic to delve into than music: after all summer is the season of outdoor concerts. For both Kip and Evan music has been a lifelong passion, source of inspiration, and a constant and comforting companion. Kip and Evan will share their illustrious odysseys through the universe of music, which has seen them play the roles of fan, musician, composer, dj, journalist and artist manager. But beyond their personal histories and experiences, they hope to inspire you to look at the importance of music in your own life’s journey. Music can be such an influence on our socialization, philosophy, style and even health.
In this episode focusing on our elders, Kip and Evan devote the final segment of this show as a tribute to one of the most brilliant men of our time, the legendary Jacque Fresco, co-founder of the Venus Project. Jacque, a man who could be described as this century’s Leonardo, passed away peacefully at home on May 18th at the age of one hundred and one - an elder by any definition. The NowShareLove team were blessed to spend three days in Venus, Florida a couple of months ago with this amazing human being, and his partner and co-founder Roxanne Meadows, doing as we felt would be the wise thing to do: sitting with this profound sage and learning some of the knowledge gathered on such a long and fruitful journey through this lifetime.
In this S.O.U.L. On Air Radio chat, Kip and Evan explore what culture is, and that no matter how different our cultural choices may seem to be, in truth, most share far more in common than in difference. To help them better understand how we can use culture to connect with one another rather than divide, they invited friend and expert in all things culture Brian J. Kenny.
In this episode, Kip and Evan dig into the importance of food in our lives, asking us to stop for a moment and think about what we are eating, how we are eating it, and what it takes to produce and deliver our food to us. Without sustenance, we cannot survive. Oftentimes, unfortunately, with our current means of feeding ourselves, the sustenance itself can be the cause of our illness and even death. Many of us in the West have been raised into a world where we eat is processed for and then marketed to us, not necessarily what is healthy and what nature provided for us.
In this episode, Kip and Evan are all about sharing the importance of sharing. And sharing not just in the sense of sharing a thing with another - which of course is incredibly valuable - but also the sharing taking place in nature and the universe itself, where without sharing literally nothing would be. Think about it. What would happen if the tree did not share its fruit or the sun its light? We would be starving and cold; actually not here at all, right? This is what we want to share about sharing in this episode devoted entirely to sharing.
In this installment, Kip and Evan share not just their own experiences and understandings as it relates to ritual, but also thoughts on the subject from world renown authors and philosophers Michael Pollan and Joseph Campbell. As you listen,we invite you to find the things in your personal life that you may want to consider making into a ritual, in order to deepen feelings of connectedness, tradition, appreciation and gratitude.
Kip and Evan bring you an episode dedicated to that eponymous Summer of Love in 1967, and explore the events that led up to and influenced that sacred period in our history. Our guest is legendary 60’s author and historian Dennis McNally who walks us through those pivotal moments in space and time. Dennis penned "Desolate Angel: Jack Kerouac, The Beat Generation, and America" and "Long Strange Trip: The Inside History of The Grateful Dead", books that chronicled the life and times of these seminal figures of the Beat and Hippie scene.
In the December installment, Kip and Evan focus on one of S.O.U.L.’s fundamental questions, "What Can I Do?" with Adam Hirschfelder - Director of Strategic Initiatives for the California Historical Society. After years in Washington D.C. trying to effect real change, Adam had an awakening that drew him from the seat of America's power to San Francisco, the heart of America's LOVE. In Northern California, he felt he could have a more immediate impact in the world of nonprofits and inspiring volunteerism; definitely an aligned goal with S.O.U.L. Adam is the epicenter of all things Summer of Love 50th Anniversary in the state of California, especially the San Francisco Bay Area. He has brought together numerous cultural institutions to pay homage and remember the wisdom of the movement that is still relevant today, half a century later. Join Kip and Evan as they share their personal journeys of how they became conduits for the love message. Find out how they came to combine their energies and talents to manifest S.O.U.L. (Summer of Unconditional LOVE) and embark upon this journey. Learn why they are passionate seekers of S.O.U.L.utions, and why being a S.O.U.L.utionist, and sharing foundational fixes, feels more empowering than being activists fighting against – and by proxy propping up - the institutionally broken.
The show takes flight with some special guests: Harold W. Becker and John Goltz of The Love Foundation; Dreamvisions7 Radio Network station-mate Dr. Jamie Turndorf, known on the air as “Ask Dr. Love”; and Jennifer Hillman of Abstract Illusions. At S.O.U.L., we endeavor to produce content that empowers people and motivates participation in creating a world whose primary motive is nurturing life. We believe that using imagination and shared vision, we can combine our human ingenuity and the technology we create - along with our physical efforts and spiritual awakening - to organize the logistics of collaboration to accomplish this.
