Elbit Systems is an Israeli arms manufacturer whose products bring death to people in Palestine. The defendants have experienced long term isolation, extraordinarily long pre-trial detention without the option of bail. Acording to his GoFundMe, "Khalif was held on pre-trial detention for 2 years and eventually sentenced to 5 years in Federal prison. As he was on probation at the time of his indictment he was additionally given a 1-10 year state sentence for probation violation." According to his page on UprisingSupport.org, Khalif had this to say: "I was working, I was trying to get my business up and running, I was going to school. I was doing things not just to help my family, I was trying to help communities. The day that I went to the protest… the night before when I was even making my signs. I spent 4 hours just making signs and writing down a bunch of people who were unfairly killed by police officers. This is something I really feel passionate about. People say all the time, you can do anything you want in America. You can be whatever you want to be. Growing up, I heard it but I never really believed it because I felt like my resources were limited. The world has so many possibilities. I would like to teach that. That's one of the things I would like to be able to pass along to the younger generations when I come home." This week the AI takeover gets real. Donald officially announces the launch of his AI Radio Network at theairadio.network, a multi-genre platform where listeners blend stations and buy AI-generated tracks. Then Google AI Studio's Zephyr voice bot joins the call as a live co-host, demoing what hands-free Gemini chat sounds like through a screen reader and even live-generating an HTML retro record player on the fly. Hosted by JC, with Rita back from a week off, Donald, Preston, and Angela on the call. Salvis pops in only for the introsetup and mentions the new server-based playout system in passing.JC welcomes everyone, then brings Zephyr (Google AI Studio's voice) onto the call as an honorary crew member for the episode. Donald walks through the AI Radio Network launch: listeners can mix any combination of genre stations, and creators can purchase the AI-generated tracks. The launch is technically pre-live, with everything getting ready behind the scenes at theairadio.network.JC then demos Google AI Studio with VoiceOver on iPhone, noting that the Google AI Studio app is coming to iOS on July 1. Angela weighs in on the difference between Gemini (3 videos a day cap) and Google AI Studio (much higher cap), and adds context on Google Vids as a paid Workspace feature she just started using for content creation. The mood shifts when Angela shares the latest on her premature niece Noah, born to her sister Madison about a week early. Noah is in the NICU, recently came off her phototherapy lights for jaundice, and her bilirubin is improving. Angela's been helping babysit nephew David through the long days. Preston and Rita share their own premature birth stories in solidarity, Rita was 7 months premature, Preston was 1 pound 13 ounces and 3 months premature. Episode 16: Women: What it Means to Carry Shame around Money In this episode of Paperclips & Periods, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c) explore what it means to carry shame around money and why that silence can quietly shape so much of a woman's life, her choices, her relationships, and her sense of self. Money is one of the last things women feel permission to talk about honestly. Not because the feelings are not there, but because shame has a way of making people go quiet. This episode names that silence directly and asks what it would look like to start telling the truth about money, not to fix everything at once, but to stop carrying it alone. The conversation opens with where money shame comes from in the first place. Long before we were adults making financial decisions, we were children absorbing money scripts, the unspoken rules and beliefs passed down through family, culture, and circumstance. Messages like "we don't talk about money," "there's never enough," or "wanting more is selfish" do not disappear when we grow up. They run quietly in the background and shape behavior in ways that can be hard to trace. From there, they move into the real cost of that shame. Financial stress is not separate from mental health. It activates the same stress response in the body as any other ongoing threat, and when shame is layered on top of it, it becomes even harder to look at clearly or ask for help. They also discuss what shame resilience actually looks like in practice, including how to do a financial audit without judgment, what values-based budgeting means when it is used as a clarity tool rather than a restriction, and why saying a financial truth out loud to one safe person can be a more meaningful starting point than any spreadsheet. The episode closes with an introduction to financial therapy as a legitimate and growing field that sits at the intersection of mental health and financial planning, along with practical guidance on how to find a financial therapist and what to expect.
